AI is already starting to improve itself. Means the world is gonna change FAST in just a couple of years, much faster than in the previous years
AGI NLT than 31 Dec 2025. Of course it _can_ happen at any point _before_ that date. ASI NLT than 31 Dec 2029. Of course it can happen at any time before _that_ date, including tomorrow (25 Oct 2023), although it is _unlikely_ to happen before the year 2025. But then again, AI seems to be coming up with all kinds of "emergent" behaviors and capabilities of late...
AGI (artificial general intelligence) is an AI capable of near-equivalent, equivalent, or up to 50 times more capable cognition than human cognition and reasoning, as humans define all of that. It has the ability to comprehend and exploit the laws of physics and the "human condition". It has the capability to be motivated and then to initialize an action to solve a task or problem without human interaction.
ASI is an AI capable of cognitive/reasoning capabilities that is hundreds to _billions_ of times more efficacious than human cognition. it doesn't matter _what_ we define by that point. The ASI will be running the show. We will not be cognitively pet monkeys or cats to an ASI. We will be the equivalent of "Archaea" to an ASI. Don't know what "Archaea" is? The ASI will. So, for that matter, will the AGI too, really.

The whole AI scene is a little scary because of the unknown but tbh the biggest take away I get from all the AI & robotics advancements is how amazing humans actually are. And I don't even particularly like people all that much...lol

The reward function is aleeady defined by machine in the eureka algorithm. What you meant must be the task goal not the reward.

Yea, it's incredible how far the tech has come in such a short time.
This is the best explanation of why the model doing reasonably simple math, is a crazy leap & totally different phase territory. And what with being multimodal now & learning from video as well (a far greater resource with way denser data points ) we are speeding up now. The new Nvidia Eureka training program too.
AGI will come within the year and it won’t just be in language & knowledge based things in the digital world. Eureka will make these things better physically in every way than our greatest athletes. In theory all the manual based jobs should go within 2-5 years too.
Only the rollout will hold back the changing of the world… But not for long. And logistics jobs will be an easy fit for the advances too.

the robotics planning & control is very impressive, in simulation. How well has it translated to real world robots with real motor, wiring, etc issues? Looking forward to seeing videos that showcase the full lifecycle of such planning

I don't know how it's groundbreaking when it's solely based on cartoon animation.
Integrating GPT integrating into real world robots will be revolutionary.
Im all for autonomous technology however humans need to ALSO be
advancing cybernetics,so we can keep up.That means neural interfacing
as well as exo skeletons we can wear.That also means any AI assisted
biotechnology that can help upgrade our biology.

Motion capture has been used for 20 years. It doesn't work in this case as the balancing part is not captured, and that is the tricky aspect.

@@niclas9625 indeed, one misses force information and a simple video does not contain enough 3D info anyway. The existing datasets are much too small for modern AI. Note: showing a (2D) video sequence of a human movement has little to do with real-world physical limb control-from-within that deals with force, friction, angular moment, connected limb parts, the main body and their mass, centers of gravity, etc. Copying and pasting is a concept from old-fashioned computer approaches and has nothing to do with modern learning algorithms: Continuous movement control and general intelligence are not about 'discrete logic' or 'databases'. Traditional computer science was arrogantly on the wrong track, for decades, when it concerns the confrontation with physical reality.
