    Thank you all for feedback on my mixer. Yes, he did an AMAZING!!!! job on restoring my mixer. This man was God sent. I had 8 mixers with no one to fix them. Then I found Rick. I knew this guy would get burned out in the near future, from the amount of work he was taking in and the price he was charging. He has suggested that others to do restorations for me, but they charge double what he did. Crazy!!!!!! To all of you who dealt with Rick, he should not be forgotten. Every Christmas, I send him a shout out to see how he is doing and to show appreciation for ALL the work he has done for ALL of us.Rick, you are truly missed

    Beautiful Custom Job! His GrandKids will grow up thinking *UPS* Manufactured Mixers besides shipping them all over The World!

    Another great restoration! I know the owner requested the color scheme but all gold would've been cool too :-) . Great job! Thanks for sharing

      Thanks! The illusion colors are really amazing, it is hard to show in video the actual color and effects, unfortunately in this case I could not get it to show the color accurately at all.

    Great work. Didn’t think I’d like the colors at first, but it grows on you. I read you’ve decided not to continue these restorations. I wish I had known earlier. I can see where run of the mill restorations could get tedious. This one being an exception. I have my grandparents’ Model 9 and I’m looking for a reputable expert to send it to. I don’t have an FB account. Maybe you could post a recommended shop here? Thanks - and thanks for sharing all your great techniques.

      Well there are several reasons. I have kids that moved back in with an infant so I lost my shop space. Very little room to work now. Also I am trying to open up the computer repair shop again and I just dont have time to do both full time. I will probably do a few old computer restorations on my other channel, that was always my first love anyways. And finally, I think I am just getting burned out on restorations, health issues not helping that much either. It just feels like its, time to move on.

    This is like Christmas in July. Really like getting more insight into your refinishing methods. Thanks. Do you blast the aluminum with glass beads?

      lol Thanks! I use black diamond 30/60 . The 30/60 gives it just enough profile for the powder to adhere to when it cures, and doesnt degrade any of the detail in the lines. If I were painting I might consider something different, perhaps a fine sand or aluminum oxide.

    The base on the model 10 is metal?

    • @vintagemixersandmore1666
      @vintagemixersandmore1666 5 років тому

      On some of the early model 10's it is. Later production and later models were not metal.

    Do you have an email address? I’d like to contact you about doing powder coating on a model 10a. Already disassembled just need paint and out gassing.
