  • In the woodland beneath the old beech tree and next to a gentle flowing stream I sit and immerse myself in nature. I talk about how nature as helped me heal and saved my life when I was suffering from depression. Nature is a great healer especially sat in front of a camp fire with all the crackling sound! Included on the this vlog is an instrumental called 'Open Your Heart' in which I play on the piano keyboard.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

So many of us are expressing a heartfelt connection with your vlog, your story, your life...
As humans on this planet we cannot fail to see that LOVE is key to all. I can heal myself, my environment, oh, and so much more.
Trust this love energy. It is the greatest reality of this 'here and now'.
When I develop this feeling, incorporating it into my day to day life, miracles happen. I urge you to practice this...it is why we are HERE, NOW. 🌻🙏
When I the word 'try' from our vocabulary we simply 'do'. 🤍

Nature saved mine as well. So much so that I remained in the Peruvian Jungles for quite sometime giving back. The peace, constant battle between life, survival, growth and death, and the most diverse pharmacy. It's a unique therapy we've strayed from and we often spend so much time searching, hoping and looking else where, when it's all around us, free for all with the only ask that we participate and contribute so others may as well. Set, setting, intention and surrender/openess, the process can be so challenging and yet so cathartic and contemplative when we allow it to be. Nature is our teacher, healer and our home. Thank again as always~

Thank you for this, nature is absolutely extraordinary isn’t it? Being able to lose yourself in nature is a wonderful thing, also really important to do this during the autumn and winter when the weather can be a little cooler to still get outside and enjoy the countryside or a green space, probably even more important during winter months due to the decrease in light levels 🌱🍂🍁💕🌼

Dave, I was in that place of being suicidal maybe a little over a year ago. I was healed by the angels that I cried out to. They came and I was almost instantly healed. I heard them say to play soft, loving music. I could hardly believe how quickly it all happened. Unless you've been there, I think it's impossible to understand how real those haunting feelings are. I'm so grateful we are both still here! Peace friend.

What a calming and beautiful vlog, as is usual. I am in the process of healing myself to become strong enough to get into the high country (I live in Denver, Colorado, USA) myself to sit beside a stream or in among some Aspen trees and listening to the sounds. This helps me remember what I am healing for. Thanks.

Thank u Dave for a excellent vlog very peaceful and heart warming story from u😔 , l too have been in that situation and its not a nice place to be. Every morning l walk my dog early and l listen to the dawn chorus and watch the trees moving in the breeze and the sun rising, to me life is worth living for such a beautiful sensation being away from the pressure of modern living and being at peace with ur self. 🙏

Thank you for another beautifully fulfilling vlog Dave. I can relate to so much of what you said. I’ve had some very dark moments too, most recently since my dad passed away, but your vlogs help lift my spirits and remind me how beautiful nature is. Apart from the shorter days, Autumn is my favourite season and I love being the sort places you were sat by the bubbling stream. Even better with a fire and a hot drink! Love the piano playing (I’ve been learning for about two years now and find it very therapeutic) and hope to see more of it in your vlogs. Already looking forward to your next episode, but until then take care my friend. 🙏

Brilliant Vlog Dave… thanks for sharing .. I don’t think it’s any accident or chance that you live on a boat or find peace and healing by water…it’s often the liminal spaces where we find solace. The blurring of the lines between spaces and places… thanks again … blessed be 🙏🙏

A beautifully, open, honest and heartfelt moment of sharing Dave. Your insight into nature's calming and healing places is something I often do too (though I call them "my nature hugs"), they're my little portals to peace. Your talents are many and your sharing of them is most appreciated. 🙏

So I finally found some time to sit and watch the vlog. Its been tough as I came down with covid but I am finally on the mend. So many things we take for granted and the "space" you mentioned is definitely one of those things. I've never looked at my music with the perspective between the notes and only really considered the notes themselves. Sure, there are rests...but with your help today, I m looking at them as space to take up with the notes. Maybe now I can get back to it. We'll see. Thanks Dave.

Dear Dave, I have been waiting patiently for your next vlog to arrive, and can only say that I was not disappointed. Thank you for your open and honest sharing of your life story, and how nature has healed you. I couldn't agree more that nature has wonderful healing abilities, and I have my own special pine and fir forest that I go to when I feel in need. I listen to the wind in the tree tops, smell the perfume of the trees, and feel the comforting spring of the needles beneath my feet on the forest floor. I watch the little animals and birds, and feel the cool, protecting shade of the canopy. It has saved me during some difficult times in my own life, and I wish I could live in this space... but I am contented to just spend time there. Our beautiful mother earth is suffering ...and this has been on my mind lately. I wonder if my special forest place will still be here in 25 years..in 50 years for the children....

Thank you Louise. I just love the perfume of a pine forest. It makes one breathe deeper 🙏 ♥ Trees play an essential part of our existence and its sad that they are being destroyed. However its about enjoying and embracing what we have now. 🙏

    • @TeeMac68
      @TeeMac68 Рік тому +1

I doubt you'll read this Louise, a year on. But it doesn't matter...I just want the energy to be out there. Your words made me cry - in a good way! I feel the same way about nature and my connection to everything in it, so what you said resonated somewhere in my soul, my spirit, whatever word you wish to give that ephemeral something we all possess. I hope your woodland haven is still there for many generations to come. I pray we all find it in our hearts to live mindfully on this beauty spinning blue ball we have been gifted so she has the chance to heal and replenish. I pray for a lot of things, but that most of all. Not to a god, but to the collective consciousness we are all a part of. Because it's us and us alone who will bring about change. So, I pray ... and I hope. 🙏

Thanks for that Dave..I'm fortunate that I live by the sea and behind me are the Welsh hills and mountains, a half hours walk on the beach blows away all the rubbish we create in our lives..BUT what's saved my life this week has been paracetamol and gallons of water, recovering from a very nasty infection (not covid) so PLEASE be careful everyone, there are some very nasty bugs out there !

Thank you for sharing your inner thoughts about your life and having the courage to open out and to tell us how you were feeling, that is a big step in itself..... Nature surrounds us wherever we are, it never asks us in but has an open door always to anyone that wants to pop by... nature has its own way of rejuvinating, healing and aging and is a complete circle of life, stepping away from the busy humdrum of daily life with all its usual problems and finding a way to rebalance the mind and body is a must for anyone. You have found a magical place and I love the natural way the branch of the old tree has fallen and bent itself like a bridge over the stream! xx

A beautiful and relaxing video Dave with some very personal references which I am so glad you have navigated through. Nature is an amazing healer and should be prescribed much more for mental health. I suffer terrible with anxiety and worry but 5 minutes of being away from the normal world and I feel like a completely new person. . . . .your videos have helped me so much to overcome this and connect with nature. Thank you Dave.
