I have the collectors edition and deluxe edition pre-ordered because I'm a hardcore collector(I'm giving the extra codes to my son and nephew for doing well in school both are straight A students and I wanted to reward them for their efforts)and have the standard edition on my PS5 wishlist(changed my time zone to get it 24 hours early) but I got a LOT of hate for being a person who planned ahead and saved my money to get what I want(I can't help it that I invested my money well and wanted to be a blessing to my family) I don't care about it not having a disc(i can wait until they get one out in circulation) and before I get any negativity I saved my money for this game soon as they announced it years ago
I’m from China, and here’s the buzz from the Chinese web: The game, based on Journey to the West, is getting a major plot twist, so just knowing the basics is enough. It’s got some “soullike” vibes, but it might be more like God of War, not too tough. The transformation system is pretty cool, but some might be permanent while others are more like skills, you know, like in Nioh. And about those 80 bosses - that’s just a guess from a fan community, using trailers and their wild imagination. I’m pretty sure that’s how it went down.

Just recently bought a couple of disc releases including banishers and had to download the games as not actually on the discs. Collecting physical seems fine if you intend to keep everything you buy installed but deleting and reselling isn't going to work in the long run as the game disc will become a coaster.
No physical disc at launch only. It should comes later. Is it so hard to understand that? Funny expecting a foreign developer to figure out all the logistic problem when most US developers won't even bother LOL.

Many games do not offer physical copies and I have never seen anyone complains about it or making it out as something so important. If developers based in the US can't bother having physical copies and we are supposed to claim a developer from China is merely making excuses of avoiding having logistics problem for the launch? Awesome video as always. Hearing about this game last year I was interested but scared off by the Souls Like rumor of the gameplay. Hearing that it more of a dodge n’ smack that’s more my jam. The $60 standard edition is also refreshing. I do hope the gameplay is a bit longer though, hearing about all the enemy and boss types. If it’s 15 hours and that many baddies are you going to have any time to really enjoy the scenery and get lost in the story. I guess we’ll find out once you review it for us!
I always take longer, with every game so I could imagine I am going to be taking my team exploring! But I do hope it’s slightly longer as well! The only down fall for me at the moment was the physical release which is frustrating.

No discount in near feature, due to exclusivity at store only. Not shareable with friends/ No resell. Don't be fooled guys. Remember Smartphones: first no SD slot anymore, then no earphone and after no power suply...
Bro it’s not that serious, the only reason why someone would want a physical copy is for memory/collection purposes, other than that you can still share your games with game-sharing and it preforms the same. definitely petty to not get a game because of no physical copy, that just sound really ignorant in my opinion.
Was really looking forward to it, but finding there's no physical copy I'm out until/if they release one. Physical allows multiple sellers to price it with better choice of sales, etc. not just being gouged by one seller.... really boils my piss.

I have always and will always only buy physical. If it's not available on disk it's a hard pass from me. Why would I buy digital when it can just be censored, altered or deleted entirely whenever the company feels like it?

Great video as always Newtro! I have a feeling that this game will be great, but I’m pulling myself back from preordering. We don’t know if it will be polished or not yet. All the gameplay we’ve seen is on PC.

I put in a group on facebook that I was disappointed the game was only digital on release. I was surprised the number of people that bashed me saying things like "get with the times" and "better get used to it" even "nobody buys physical loser." The internet is a crazy place. I am an old skool gamer, i have shelves full of ps1, N64, sega mega drive, and OG xbox. Personall This game is definitely a bit of me, and I do want to play it. I simply refuse to buy it digitally. I SharePlay with multiple friends, even though it says you can’t, so my friends that I would have lent the physical too can play it also, make a new save file from their PS5. Sure you can look at Alan wake 2, or you can look at Baldur's gate 3, that game was also digital only for now and it sold over 15 million, regardless recent stats(between 70 to 80%)confirm that many people buy digitally, for me I am not a biggest fan of digital only, but for this game I am will make a exception I hope that anyone that plays this game has a good time Good day/evening
At least the makers of Alan Wake admitted for their own reasons that they were not releasing physical copies, but this is very deceitful, imagine not doing your research and going into a shop and handing over your hard earned cash for this game and to go home and eagerly open the game case to find a f%"king coupon instead of a disc. They probably have it written on the case that an internet connection is needed to cover themselves but why not just own up and say there is no physical release. I will not be buying it anyway, 70 plus euro is way too much to pay for a game that you are only essentially renting once the license expires.
I might actually avoid this until the physical copy I bought enough games digitally and as we all now understand digitally buying is not physically owning the pirating is not stealing.
Not heartbroken over digital only. In a few months the value will go down anyway. As a retro collector (pre PS1 stuff) the value isn't great on PS4 or PS5 games.

So, from what folks are saying after the June mini closed beta, the game’s not an open world but more of a sandbox thing. But hey, keep your expectations in check - it’s all about the action and those boss battles, with not much in the way of level exploration. As for why it’s not on Xbox, yep, it’s the Xbox Series S (XSS) causing issues. Word on the street is that Microsoft’s making devs launch on both the XSS and XSX at the same time, and the XSS only has a total of 8GB for graphics and memory.
Wukongs staff isn’t magical wukong is tho he’s the one who changes its size also wukong was originally giving the lowest position in the heavens which was watching over the stables then later got a promotion to watch the peach garden which he was happy with he just wanted to go a party and impersonated a heavenly court and that’s why he got in trouble and fought the armies of heaven
I can honestly say that black myth wukong is the game am most interested in this 2024 I want to pick it up at launch but am going to wait for the reviews before buying. Excited that you are going to be streaming at launch so I will get a early review thanks man 💪🏾
As a Series X owner I have been crazy enough to buy a PS5 this week and preordered this game. I never preorder games. 😂 On the plus side at least I can finally buy Stellar Blade. Final Fantasy 7 rebirth and GOW Ragnarok. Also want Wolverine when that drops,
You can see there are elements of individuals & few mainstream companies are trying hard to smear this lovely game/developer. Could that be just because the developer don't want to be under the control of Sweet Baby or other twisted woke companies or the fact that it is a Chinese developer or maybe both?
I really wanted this game but I can't do it with no disc it's bad enough they don't want you reselling it but now you want damn near a 100 bucks for something I can't even hold I'll wait till November when it's a lot cheaper I'll be back for sure
I remember seeing this game in 2018 on youtube. It wasn't an actual game then. The Gane developers were shopping themselves around showing 8 minutes of test footage. They needed more resources to finish the rest of the game.
Not sure if you need ideas for new videoes - I´m currently replaying a bunch of the Assassins Creed games and I know you are a big fan of those games. I haven´t played the later AC games so maybe a list of your favourite games from that franchise could be fun :))
No disk no buy ! I'm a collector!! And Don't put my hard earned money on digital only crap for many , many good reasons ! I don't care how much i want something i don't give away money to something that holds no value in the end . So a huge pass for me i control my purchases not someone else .
I’m usually the same until I played it. I bought it and I dont regret it. It’s a beautiful game that’s super fun. If you enjoy games for the experience and not just for the disc you can put on the shelf when you’re done it’s totally worth it.

They are indie developers, they are not going to mass production on their first AAA game with physical copies. They might release physical copies with limited run. It’s also hard for indie developers to find companies can makes physical copies for them.
I am excited, but waiting for the embargo to make a decision. I love my physical games, but if this is really good I suppose I will be buying it twice haha
You realize that Series S is the better selling one than the Series X. I really hope its longer than 15 hours because that way to short for a full price game. We had plenty of amazing linear games that are way longer like Lies of P, Armored Core VI, GoW Ragnarök and so on so I hope it's around the same lenght.

Black myth wukong needs blocking and parry I'm it not just dodge and get rid of the Stamina. Bar just healthy bars and it need to be on a physical dsic not digital

Great video! the bosses fights are not as hard as the soulslike games. and it's linear, not open world. this story is set after the journey of the west. some bosses have 2nd phase, if you defeat them fast enough in 1st phase(the time frame is unknown yet) there are 2 ways you can gain transformation/shapeshifting to defeated monsters(not all monsters), 1. obtain the weapon of the monster 2. capture defeated monsters with the gourd. method 1 you shapshift into the monster within a limited time frame, you change back to monkey after the timer expires or hp bar goes down to 0, basically gives you an extra HP bar. method 2 let you combine the monster's attack into your monkey attack combo seamlessly. the last but not the least, plz remember that this game is made by a 140ish employees studio, it might not be as polished as other games made by other bigger studios. Plz tune your expectation down, and enjoy!!!

idk what those guys say about boycotting digital releases, they are better than physical by simply the fact you don't have to go anywhere to get it or if your disc is scratched you lose 70$, and anyway dvd have just been keys to open the door to install the game for a while now, you don't have the game there just the key to the door because from what i know there aren't any 130gb dvds so if you want to get 2007 games so they can fit in a dvd go and buy them
@@silentgames112 PS5 Blue rays have 100 GB per disc. Most games are under the 100 threshold. If a game goes over that they should follow what FF7 Rebirth did and print 2 discs, there is no excuse for companies to be scummy and not put the whole game on disc.

They are a small studio . They can't afford so many physical copies .

Great video as always Newtro! I have a feeling that this game will be great, but I’m pulling myself back from preordering. We don’t know if it will be polished or not yet. All the gameplay we’ve seen is on PC.

Count in the fact that pc version has an agressive DRM that lowers the framerate by a bit that wont be present on consoles.

In contrast, open-world games like "Horizon Zero Dawn" or "The Legend of Zelda" offer the opportunity to return and explore new areas, complete side quests, and engage in additional content, which can enhance replayability. While some open-world games, such as those in the "Assassin's Creed" series, can be quite lengthy and time-consuming, others, like "NieR," are shorter. Ideally, developers could balance the length of the main quest to accommodate various playstyles. Additionally, I prefer to purchase physical copies of games, so I plan to wait before buying, as I am currently occupied with other titles.
I put in a group on facebook that I was disappointed the game was only digital on release. I was surprised the number of people that bashed me saying things like "get with the times" and "better get used to it" even "nobody buys physical loser." The internet is a crazy place. I am an old skool gamer, i have shelves full of ps1, N64, sega mega drive, and OG xbox. Personall This game is definitely a bit of me, and I do want to play it. I simply refuse to buy it digitally. I ain't doing it, and I ain't boy cotting the game. I only buy physically. it's as simple as that. Same reason I never bought alan Wake 2. I don't feel like you own a game buying it digitally.
So do you think you own your window operating system since most people don't have a disc for it but just a serial code. Get real.

I SharePlay with multiple friends, even though it says you can’t, so my friends that I would have lent the physical too can play it also, make a new save file from their PS5. I didn’t know it wouldn’t have had a physical, this is the first I’m hearing of it. I had already bought it though, I’ve been wanting this game for a long time. Each to their own.

Sure you can look at Alan wake 2, or you can look at Baldur's gate 3, that game was also digital only for now and it sold over 15 million, regardless recent stats(between 70 to 80%)confirm that many people buy digitally, for me I am not a biggest fan of digital only, but for this game I am will make a exception

At least the makers of Alan Wake admitted for their own reasons that they were not releasing physical copies, but this is very deceitful, imagine not doing your research and going into a shop and handing over your hard earned cash for this game and to go home and eagerly open the game case to find a f%"king coupon instead of a disc. They probably have it written on the case that an internet connection is needed to cover themselves but why not just own up and say there is no physical release. I will not be buying it anyway, 70 plus euro is way too much to pay for a game that you are only essentially renting once the license expires.
I might actually avoid this until the physical copy I bought enough games digitally and as we all now understand digitally buying is not physically owning the pirating is not stealing.
Not heartbroken over digital only. In a few months the value will go down anyway. As a retro collector (pre PS1 stuff) the value isn't great on PS4 or PS5 games.

@@baskroeze7217 yeah but the hype dies slowly after launch - the fun and hype which is present at the launch or 1-2months after launch especially for linear story type of games is not the same as after few months
So, from what folks are saying after the June mini closed beta, the game’s not an open world but more of a sandbox thing. But hey, keep your expectations in check - it’s all about the action and those boss battles, with not much in the way of level exploration. As for why it’s not on Xbox, yep, it’s the Xbox Series S (XSS) causing issues. Word on the street is that Microsoft’s making devs launch on both the XSS and XSX at the same time, and the XSS only has a total of 8GB for graphics and memory.
Wukongs staff isn’t magical wukong is tho he’s the one who changes its size also wukong was originally giving the lowest position in the heavens which was watching over the stables then later got a promotion to watch the peach garden which he was happy with he just wanted to go a party and impersonated a heavenly court and that’s why he got in trouble and fought the armies of heaven

I remember seeing this game in 2018 on youtube. It wasn't an actual game then. The Gane developers were shopping themselves around showing 8 minutes of test footage. They needed more resources to finish the rest of the game.

I’m usually the same until I played it. I bought it and I dont regret it. It’s a beautiful game that’s super fun. If you enjoy games for the experience and not just for the disc you can put on the shelf when you’re done it’s totally worth it.

They are indie developers, they are not going to mass production on their first AAA game with physical copies. They might release physical copies with limited run. It’s also hard for indie developers to find companies can makes physical copies for them.

the bosses fights are not as hard as the soulslike games. and it's linear, not open world.
this story is set after the journey of the west.
some bosses have 2nd phase, if you defeat them fast enough in 1st phase(the time frame is unknown yet)
there are 2 ways you can gain transformation/shapeshifting to defeated monsters(not all monsters), 1. obtain the weapon of the monster 2. capture defeated monsters with the gourd.
method 1 you shapshift into the monster within a limited time frame, you change back to monkey after the timer expires or hp bar goes down to 0, basically gives you an extra HP bar.
method 2 let you combine the monster's attack into your monkey attack combo seamlessly.
the last but not the least, plz remember that this game is made by a 140ish employees studio, it might not be as polished as other games made by other bigger studios.

idk what those guys say about boycotting digital releases, they are better than physical by simply the fact you don't have to go anywhere to get it or if your disc is scratched you lose 70$, and anyway dvd have just been keys to open the door to install the game for a while now, you don't have the game there just the key to the door because from what i know there aren't any 130gb dvds so if you want to get 2007 games so they can fit in a dvd go and buy them
First of all, all discs now are blueray, second, 90% of physical games are playable start to finish without the need of a patch or internet.

@@silentgames112 PS5 Blue rays have 100 GB per disc. Most games are under the 100 threshold. If a game goes over that they should follow what FF7 Rebirth did and print 2 discs, there is no excuse for companies to be scummy and not put the whole game on disc.
