You have double standards. Precious Mia does something really bad and all she gets is a talking too. Mario does something really bad, and it was, so he misses out on the fun Halloween trip,all his ‘comfort bed toys’ taken off him and Mia and Mayte can’t even share their loads of candy with him. Wow, way to parent with favouritism. Mario is such a good boy, who hardly ever gets in trouble. Whereas Mia is constantly rude, disrespectful, spoilt and gets away with awful behaviour. Maybe you should be harder on her for a change, because you’ll pay for it when she’s a rude, entitled, disrespectful teenager. Ha

Perez, you’re a wonderful, fun, engaged dad. I so agree, Actions have consequences! And I appreciate after expressing your anger… that you calmly explained to Mario the reason why what he did was wrong and why he was being punished. But can you reconsider and not make his error and punishment so public? If he can see these videos, his classmates can probably see them, too.That’s pretty tough.
I can remember being punished at school and bringing the note home to my parents…and being punished again. That was bad enough I learned. …But, later, I heard my mother on the phone telling other relatives, “Cecelia was spanked at school today for (whatever it was.)” I was MORTIFIED.
Please reconsider- make your kids failures/mistakes a private matter…or not. Just my 2¢ about it. Mario was clearly wrong but my heart ached for him a bit.

This was SO fun! You will remember these fun times so don’t blink! Perez I lost my Mama!!!!!!!!!!! My heart is broken in two! She meant the world to me! I had to live 500 miles from her for 30 years!!! I was flying home yesterday but she died before I could get to her! I have to keep myself entertained or I will start crying again! At least she’s not in any pain anymore and she’s with my sister I lost at 35 (Sharon) and my son I lost when he was 17 (TJ) and my niece who killed herself at 20 (Rachel)!

This is serious Perez. Mario absolutely CANNOT GO THROUGH YOUR THINGS TO GET TO YOUR PHONE. I'm proud of you for punishing him the way you did. I have a feeling he will do it again. You will need to probably punish him more severely. Take away tv for 3 weeks. No games,remove ALL toys from his room. Keep him in his bedroom. No playing with his sisters. That's what I did. It worked for me. It was the worst for my kids because they were only punished once. They did not want to go through that again EVER. I raised 4 fantastic kids by myself 2 boys 2 girls. BY MYSELF, NO NANNY. They all grew up to be successful independent professionals. One Dr., one lawyer, a veterinarian and a photographer. Parenthood is an everyday learning experience. You have to be consistent with discipline and don't back down, by that I mean don't shorten their punishment. My kids learned early on to do volunteer work for various charities, which they still do to this day. I'm so proud of each and everyone of them. They are truly a blessing. You are a wonderful father, NEVER FORGET THAT!!!!! Some people say they had to sacrifice a variety of things for their kids. I never saw it as sacrificing because viewed it as just being a mother with an abundance of ❤ to give. All 4 are my best treasures of a lifetime.

I'm not big on punishing where you break a kids spirit or things like denying them their sisters birthday cake. Thats harsh. I'm all for withholding tv, video games etc. but there is such a thing as too harsh.

I hadn't hidden it back then. He was allowed to use it when we were in Vegas. The issue is that he was using it after bedtime. The issue now is that he went into my room and found it where I had HIDDEN it and took it after snooping and without permission!
