I actually didn't know triforcing didn't help until a few days ago. My best idea of triforcing was using prisms so that NOTHING was connected. Obviously, my bots died with two shots of a laser.
I like quick building bots to suit what ever play-style I wanna try out. I do try tri-forcing them at times, but rarely. I find aesthetic to be more important for me to have fun.
if you have alot of blocks, and if you do you will become the 1# target of snipers and plasma drones, which makes most noobs ragequit and never play robocraft again
BIG Thanks to you SK for EVERY extremly interresting and informating Video you've made so far, you are just the best UA-camr in History fo Robocraft and its Builts (and others... :D) And thx for letting me be a part of a video in my first time ever x3 AAAAND thx specially for this Vid because i used trirforcing a lot but not perfect. i understand it much more now and I'll think about if it is worth it every time before i built another awesome Bot. thanks very much for the all the great time of all your videos i watched. PS.: damn it i should have eat my Curry-Sausage Chips/Crips while watching this ;D
It's still fun... i speak from experience, i am a Early access player so i know what i am talking about... I am not saying it's perfect...i'm just saying it's good.. Truthfully i prefered the Tier System and i loved the megabots and i'm really sad that they got removed from normal battles.. but, there are a lot of positive points aswell like: The new gamemodes..Remember when there was only TDM , remember that moment when you flipped your bot and just stood there waiting to be killed? Remember when there were only 3 gun types in the game? Yeah all of that is gone now...now you have 3 gamemodes (i don't count LAB and Test because LAB is just a ranked version of the classic gamemode and test is well...testing your bot) Now we have TDM , Brawl AND battle arena TLDR: The game is still fun
Another component of rodforcing you forgot to mention is clipping. Sloped blocks can be placed in the same location as a rod, wrapping around it. Regardless of the orientation of the block, or angle of attack, if the midsection of the rod is shot where the slopes are located, the slopes will take the damage rather than the rod. After the sloped blocks were shot off, they would remove the section of the rod's hitbox along with them, allowing the rods to be shot straight through the middle of a rod without it actually hitting or dealing damage. Very useful for protecting any mid sections of a bot or weak joint by making them physically unshootable after the first attack. Also useful for protecting weapon mounts, preventing your opponent from shooting the mounting rod to disarm the weapon.
I knew about the triforcing and why it worked, but I have no clue how to do it, or what parts were best even with all the changes. I wish I could experiment with the weapons and blocks to learn this myself, but I can't.
Triforcing was there since the birth of the game, but I still recall the very first build that exploited the mechanic and showed it to the masses, also deeming it "triforce armor". I cannot recall the builder nor can I find the original forum post, but all I remember was it was called the "ugly bot".
those bots were ugly as fuck and a full t-10 plasma salvo still ripped halve of the bot off. it was mostly used on fliers since they didnt had to worry too much about plasma fire.
Even to this day I use two methods, 1 I call fencing and 1 I call blockade. Fencing is just tons and tons of struts surrounding the bot, supporting a corrugated panel that soaks up the damage like you would see on real tanks and apcs today. And blockade is a wrap of armoured stunts that only connect to the bot at the base of the chassis and at any weapon mount point or mobility point. Both work surprisingly well. And another trick I have done from time to time is to build an actual pillbox on tank treads. Impossible to knock off mobility since its in the bot, impossible to destroy when a medic uses your walls and size as a shield and protects your weapons via a strange clipping with shields.
I've came here after reviewing robocraft on steam, ahh... Good old memories. Sadly this game is dead for me, especially after one bug, that deleted my 5 years old plane. Maybe someday, someone will remake Robocraft, in the same way we all enjoyed.
damn, its been a long time since i played this game the first time, i liked the old days when you were an astronaut, you leveled up to gain cpu and there was the tiers system, and you only had smgs, railguns and plasmas, and just wheels, hovers and wings. In those days robocraft was one of the best games i've ever played, and it kept becoming better until megabots, the it was the most perfect game, and it started to get so fucking shitty to what it is now... R.I.P. Robocraft
from what I can see traditional triforcing is only useful agains the chainshredder, smg, and rarely the shotgun since the behavior of the projectiles are still standard. let me know if im leaving out any weapons that damage cubes in the same manner.
Sigh. I miss the old tier system. The game just doesn't have the spark that it used to have. The only real reason that freejam removed the tier system, was because their lazy, and didn't want to make 10 versions of every weapon, even though it was mostly 5 tiers then another 5 tiers with some yellow bits of plastic on them... And some didn't even go below T6! Damn you, freejam. Damn you for being lazy.
Savfresh you realize its a joke, right? yes, I miss the old tiering system, I believe the game was ten times better with that tiering system, but I'm not saying that they have to return to it... Also, just saying, I do actually code, and I can tell you, coding is a lot harder than modeling, but they are both completely different, and hard to compare.
Space The teired mounts is probably is now a thing to be used again since the tx cubes are back, and them struts type of triforcing is really effective scince they have a lot of health in comparison to the other blocks and is even more effective with other meth(ods) of triforcing with it.
the old ice canyon with the 2 bridges and tunnels was awesome. you never knew if there was a spider hanging somewhere close on a wall ready to snipe you.
2:21 Wtf those graphics thooooo! And the camera is so low that your guns almost line up with it! I wish the camera was like that, it would make leading shots at air targets much easier, and shooting bots with rails or ions from close range much easier/effective.
I entered Robocraft just this September, and I was wondering why my tri-forcing was not working. With the new Fast and Formidable update, all my bots just kept dying, so I kinda gave up on the game...
They're is another one.... It's basically like cactus-ing and brick shield but designed for plasma.... Believe it was found while making spaceship designs.... Basically you would have a cylindrical style but and then have connecting rings every other block about a 2+ block space away... What's supposed to happen is area of effect denial for plasma basically.... Unless it was mega plasma.... The plasma shot would hit the outer ring and only take line 2 or 3 blocks with it across the ring... Because it's extended from the body and there's nothing next to it.... It just centers on the impact area.... If you still can't imagine how it would look... Imagine a space station with gravity rings along its length This style is also used in Space Engineers to reduce damage chance of missiles to the hull and underlying thrusters (sometimes these rings were only connected at two points or 4 drowning in the shape of the boot and preference
tiers, pilot seats, megabots, tierd blocks, old attack styles for example: plasma shoots six shots at once, infinite firing smgs, rails with a set amount of shots... it only gets worse :(
i have a good one for your next vid (if you read this) the gunbeds have come back and you find them in almost every match cuz of high health, but can dael out less damage because of the smaller weapons they ue for energy consumption.
Dang... all my impressive Robocraft knowledge is so out-of-date. I missed seeing the update where the health got scaled to the mass. But I knew that triforcing (at least how I knew it way back when wings weren't even a thing) is dead. I am glad to see that damage routing is still a valid strategy, though. Though I wish rails had actual penetration. For one, small section of time, they did. They could pierce through a wall of cubes and hit one other, if it was thin enough. (The transferred damage to the "sides" was significantly reduced to compensate.)
always find ti weird when people say triforcing is dead, sure whatever you do you but that dont mean other builds dont need it (eg: planes/ drones where weight management is crucial)
well, i have to say, that the spread of damage is and was not random at all. if that was the case, high alpha damage shots would create irregular shaped holes, and not almost perfect shapes
oh god, theres more: Barrier protection existed long before the Respawn and overclocking update. it was called "anti gunbrella" and had been on plasmas for a long time before that update.
barrier protection and resistivity was added way before in 2014 known as the anti-gunbrella effect and it was global and not part specific :P just saying
It was a great game before the full spectrum combat, however, it was still playable. But the economy chance, for using crates instead of currency broke the game. I fnd, if you want to enjoy the game, the game has to be based on leveling up. Not on luckly getting a legendary in a crate. (Wich actually almost never happend.) I remember the old days when triforcing was something new and I was struggling to understand it.
when I look at the old printscreens with my firsts triforced bots I laugh soo much
they were ugly and weak too, but I was proud of them :)))
Șerban Andrei lelz
Șerban Andrei I remember my first triforced bot, just a bulk of prisms arranged in rows, each line facing in the same direction
I remember times when robocraft was robocraft normal game , not stupid shit for kids 😭😭😪
I actually didn't know triforcing didn't help until a few days ago. My best idea of triforcing was using prisms so that NOTHING was connected. Obviously, my bots died with two shots of a laser.

I do try tri-forcing them at times, but rarely. I find aesthetic to be more important for me to have fun.
I was using rodforcing method without knowing about it until now

I don't know what you are talking about :D
I really miss TX-1 cubes!!!😭😭😭
yeah
Martin Coker TX-1 cubes really made my bots great...
yeah my best bot ever was a small tx-1 cube plasma flyer
Martin Coker mine was the "Thunder Cloud"
i made one to it was fun
I rodforce ALL of my bots and they are still very effective :D Great video Space !
I miss the old robocraft still.
Block spam is still just as practical, ._.
more expenseive, takes too much RP
(there's no such thing as RP anymore)
dang, it's been so long since i've played this game
if you have alot of blocks, and if you do you will become the 1# target of snipers and plasma drones, which makes most noobs ragequit and never play robocraft again
Triforcing is just automatic for me now, I just build triforcing by the habit and when i see i am triforcing some new thing im testing XD
BIG Thanks to you SK for EVERY extremly interresting and informating Video you've made so far, you are just the best UA-camr in History fo Robocraft and its Builts (and others... :D)

No problemo :)
I don't know why but the Music makes me so nostalgic. I really miss the days there the Game was still fun.

Yeeee brudddaaah xD I use atleast some triforcing on all my bots. Mainly with rods. Great vid bro!! Keep up the good work :D
I never truly knew bout it untill now and i understand how it works thanks bro
Is the robocrew logo a protoseeker?
They should add the old texture back and the old gun sound effects back, and qlso the blocks tier. I miss those SO much! :'(
so what was funny,is when he said he has pizza and will keep us well fed,i just so happened to be eating pizza! XD
Thx for the pizza Space! :P
Anytime :P
Yo holy shit! I did the Reaper drawing in the beginning where he wanted the big kids cup. That's pretty awesome to see it used in a video!

Ah, I knew I was bound to miss some techniques. Thanks for clarifying this one :)
SpaceKryptonite no prob, should prob mention though that it was a big part of the dech's design for routing damage and minimizing armor loss when hit
I knew about the triforcing and why it worked, but I have no clue how to do it, or what parts were best even with all the changes. I wish I could experiment with the weapons and blocks to learn this myself, but I can't.

Before I saw the truth, I thought triforcing was just excessive use of slopes. This made my bots particularly ugly

Man, I miss old Robocraft
I entered Robocraft just this September, and I was wondering why my tri-forcing was not working.
With the new Fast and Formidable update, all my bots just kept dying, so I kinda gave up on the game...
What about that thing that could go inside the reactor? I remember using it, and me and my friends pretty much won every game we played using it.
Those were micro bots, I have them on my list, but so many videos to make D:
oh, im sry to disturb :/
Helpful its ok, it helps when people remind of what videos I need to do. So you are technically doing me a favor :p

New idea: have a rod and a big umbrella like thing on top to prevent rails
Triforc working now?
Is triforce dead now? If it isnt what techniques are still good?
SR Nodire Blockspam
a big/fat/thicc block with lots of guns is the only thing that doesnt get you killed every 5 seconds.
What become Triforcing today ? What design is still used ?
Prism weave can be more stronger if you replace one side with cube instead both side with prism.
and i'll call it fibre-coating
holy shit thats smart , tho it would require caution to add multiple layers
since you'd need to alternate them
thanks for the Pizza Space :D
No problemo 👽
"rodforcing" without context this could mean something else entirely
wait they got rid of pilot seats ...... whats next? mega bots?

yeah triforcing now is separating layers, and gun mounts instead of wrapping they whole bot in triforcing like it used to.

The evolution of thr strafr drone ? ^.^' ?

rip robocraft. I think the game started dying when they released lootboxes, and got rid of pilot seats making triforcing useless.
I started playing this game in 2013. I stopped in 2016. Most know why
Now all cubes weigh the same.
Angled slope same mass as Health Cube
lol miss the old stuffs
I’m going to cry

triforce isn't dead. There're a lot of techniques nowadays
agreed, there are many other parts that help route damage a lot more effectively than how cubes used to
bring tier blocks back #
I`m do next level of triforcing(BD8 Glich Destroyer in crf)
