If there's one thing it taught me, it was to stop struggling and get the neural link implant. Honestly, the whole thing seemed to be one giant piece of corporate propaganda. I love technology but it's incredibly obvious that corporations are shoving it upon us for malevolent reasons, and it is NOT a good thing that Microsoft is pushing it onto every PC, and Google et al are replacing searches with AI hallucinations.
In Australia, the banks are all using the same AI to vet accounts. For some reason my account keeps getting frozen, and I can't get any human to investigate because the banks all trust that the AI would never do anything wrong. I can't change banks to avoid it because as far as the CSRs can tell, every bank available uses exactly the same AI to judge whether someone is worthy.
I am hated by a mindless financial machine. This is not the cyberpunk I was looking for.

Funny how the AI script basically rips the plot from an XCOM2 DLC. Lily Shen, years after losing her dad, finds an AI he created that sees her as a rival sibling, and also needs her to finish his evil plan.
They need to code the AI to make the blatant theft less obvious.

We are an entire squad of hyper badass, fully trained, fully prepped, heavily armored Rang(BOOOM) all dead.
Watched... or mostly watched... this last night. Seems it was so riveting I fell asleep right after she is captured.
Just for completeness, and the laughs, I need to go back and see her joyous reunion with Harlan.
Ahh yes, an emotionally damaged woman who won't let anyone in, even the mech suit that has repeatedly saved her from death.
Although, maybe it is the concussion she seemed to just shake off when her suit hit the ground at mach 2.
Or when her mech rolled down a 2 mile hill, hitting rocks all the way, and she seemed unfazed by.
Other mechs, take a few hits, dead. Her mech, impervious to weapons, or fall damage, or 400 feet of rock sitting on it.
Good thing they had an extra made of Impervium.

I love how they went to a planet light years away in like a snap of a finger. The closest star system is 4 light years away, they travelled probably a lot more than that in what I would assume like 3months max(thought it was portrayed like it happened overnight). To put that into perspective, they travelled 16x faster than light(using the 3 months number i pulled out of my ass) OR they travelled 1,488x faster than light(using the 1 day number). Jesus Christ, if they could travel that fast they could’ve just sent an object that fast and it would’ve destroyed the entire planet with ease. But of course they would need A 28 YEAR OLD OUTDATED CPU. In those 28 years, they managed to travel thousands of times faster than light. Im sure that a 28 year old cpu is would be useless. 28 years ago we didn’t even have iphones! Damn this was weird movie.
Edit: apparently the andromeda galaxy is 2.5million light years away and they travelled that in exactly 1 flashback. So now the number is bumped up to 912.5 MILLION TIMES the speed of light (40 light years a second). They hold technology to travel the whole universe and beyond but of course they need to retrieve a 28 year old cpu.

2:50 Thats actually a GREAT POINT. When I watch reaction channels its crazy how many movies from the 80's and 90's young people not only have not seen, but have no idea they existed. I bet you could release The Godfather with the exact same script with Timothee Chalomet as Michael and they would think it was a great new movie. Maybe the Godfather is too famous ( MAYBE) but I bet you could do 48 hours and they wouldnt know.

    Overall: I like it.
Yes the villain's reasons is pretty much generic and overused. The one thing I really like about this movie is the relationship between Atlas and Smith, it reminds me of the game Titanfall 2 with Cooper and BT (Robot) and i like that game. ALOT.
Yes the Movie has it's flaws but I found myself enjoying it nonetheless, crazy as that sounds.

I like to think about this on a slightly deeper, more conspiratorial level.
The powers that be are testing to see how far they can push us with regards to believability. They're showing us their plans for everything in the future through the entertainment industry.
This movie, and many other modern ones, have actually been written by an artificial intelligence. They're offering us the karmic contract. "Do you want this?" And if we don't actively object (i.e. when we watch it and pay attention to it), we're tacitly accepting the contract, so they've done no wrong when they pull the AI veil further over our eyes in every aspect of our existence.
Look around you. You money is virtual. Your entertainment is virtual. Your relationships and friendships are virtual. Your job is virtual. Your exercise is virtual. Your medical care is virtual. Your home is becoming increasingly virtual. Your car is AI-driven. Your food is manufactured by robots using synthetic ingredients.
It's already happened. And it's happened because we accepted it on every level by never rejecting it.

Eventually there won't be anything real there at all. The holy place within each one of us will become a place of desolation. We'll be interacting with nothingness. We'll be entertained by nothingness. Entire movies will be auto-generated. Entire newscasts will be auto-generated. Over the course of our lives we've been conditioned to make emotional and intellectual investment in art, drama, music and journalism. But when art, drama, music and journalism no longer involve any human element, what will become of our emotional and intellectual investment in it? The investment becomes worthless. Spiritual bankruptcy.
      1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
      Matthew 24:15-18 (KJV)
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

When I see the first trailer of this film I immediately thought that the concept of this mechs was rubbish, I didn't think I was that right. Physicaly moving legs and arms works in Pacific Rim because they are piloting 100 meters tall mechs with synchronised movements. Here we have a mix between Pacific Rim and Titanfall mechs concepts and I hate the result 😅
