@@filmslate - I've just realized you may be too young to get the Violet Crumble reference. Paul Hogan used to eat one or mention them most weeks on his TV show back in the early to mid-eighties. Pre-Crocodile Dundee, of course.
I reckon there are guys who would follow a woman ten miles to give them chutney, in the belief it was romantic. Especially if they knew them from the Telly
I once returned home from school with a giant African snail. (Bare in mind I was obsessed with the show Green Wing and the character Sue White) I wanted the world to be as spontaneous and quirky as the show. So I bought this snail and told everyone on MSN about it. I returned Gummy and the story ends there. I just like snails and when I accidentally step on them I feel awful. ❤🐌
I actually have had somebody drive about 10 miles to give me some forgotten groceries... ... the reason I was fine with it is that they were a supermarket delivery driver who had accidentally left a bag of groceries in their truck, and they drove back to my place at the end of their run to give me the missing stuff.
We've watched loads of Aussie TV shows over the years guys... Anything from: Sons & Daughters... Prisoner Cell Block H... A Country Practice... The Paul Hogan Show... Water Rats... Aussie Gold Hunters... Outback Truckers... Highway Patrol... As well as many many more... The "Bogan" accent was typically imprinted on us here in the UK... By the likes of Paul Hogan and his sidekick "Strop"... There's a few others on various Aussie TV shows too... That have made the "Bogan" accent the standard for us to try and copy... In an attempt at sounding like an Aussie... Simply because it's easier to mimic... It must sound much weirder to you guys though... Simply because you might not hear it all that often in daily life... It's the same with people from overseas trying a British accent... They'll usually go for a posh English accent you get in movies... Like (RP) Received Pronunciation... But in reality guys... Very few people speak like that here in the UK... We have many regional accents that range from: Cockney... Scouse... Geordie... West Country... Yorkshire... West Midlands... Scottish... Welsh... Irish... South Eastern... Bristolian... Mancunian... As well as many others... And we all know that Aussies have some great slang names in their vocabulary... But nowhere near the amount of slang words used throughout the various regions of the UK... A great WILTY clip once again guys... Keep up the good work my friends... Cheers.🍺
Haha thanks for all the insights Rick! I totally get you on using the Bogan accent as a way to do an Aussie impression. We do the same for the UK as well, where we make everyone sounds like they are from a Guy Richie film haha!
It's always fun to find a story where Lee Mack _might_ be telling the truth. There've been 138 'regular' episodes (at 2023/2/17). So it's reasonable assuming he's lying. I wonder who creates the two lies? I've always assumed it's the production team. If that's the case, _and_ they give notes, Steve Davis's snail should have been more exotic, and believable. The French, eat snails. I've had them in several UK French restaurants. They're a really a vehicle for garlic butter and herbs; a bit like a small prawn without a carapace or legs. Yum! 😋 It's less than 50:50 a shop would allow one customer to take an item left behind by a different shopper. I've found items forgotten by previous shoppers. I point them out to the till operators. They put them to one side. They say, "they'll notice and come back and get it". _(It'll be on their till receipt, so very straightforward to reconcile the item with the payment card, till, time and date.)_ Best Wishes. ☮ In Taskmaster Series 1, Episode 3, there's a teabag throwing task. You might enjoy reacting to this before that: _Lee Mack at the World Teabag Darts Final - Would I Lie to You? [HD][CC-EN,ET,NL]_ ua-cam.com/video/G9SK538zS7U/v-deo.html
In regards to who writes the other two lies, it wouldn't surprise me if the producers, when gathering quirky stories from the guests to use on the show, they highlight the 2-3 they want to use in the show for an actual story, and then also pick stories that could work for the This Is My segment. EG Sara Pascoe may have told producers that a man once drove 10 miles to give her groceries, and they might think the story would fit perfectly for the Aubrey guess that week, so they are her to tell the story in that segment but attribute it to Aubrey. This could help make the stories sounds more believable because they come from a place of truth, it's just not the actual truth. Haha I've actually had escargot before G! I think we just totally forgot that it was a French cliche haha, I don't think I had heard it since primary school! Same with shopping markets here, the teller would just keep the item to the side, it would be odd for a customer to take it and follow a customer out the store, and even if they did they would surely only go as far as the carpark!
What a brilliant story hilarious and no I did not get This right your Izzy accents are not that pronounced I love an Ozzy accent thanks guys great WILTY clip

Steve Davis should have said it was one of those giant African snails. At least the story would have been a bit more believable. I mean, I know what I'd say to a friend asking me to take time out of my day to feed one common garden snail. It seemed neither Michael nor Blake has heard of the famous French delicacy of snails and their penchant for eating them. Mind you, when your national dish is the meat pie, I guess it's not that surprising. 😉
I agree Rene, definitely should have big a big, unique snail to be more believable! Haha I think we both just completely forgot about the cliche of French people eating snails! I don't think I had heard that since primary school, I've even had escargot before hahaha. You're right though, it is certainly no meat pie!
Hey Janet! Haha I think the only Aubrey we had ever heard of is the actress Aubrey Plaza.. so we just assumed it was a female name :) Thanks for the comment!
Mmmm I don't know Paul.. I wouldn't say she would waste the chance to tell the story, as this was her chance to tell the story in this episode. I can't see her wanting to bring the actual guy in to be in the show, so telling this story from a place of truth with Aubrey instead seems like a great way to utilize the story. Cheers for the comment mate!

Normal sized Alex Horne at 7:31 in the group picture 🎉
Haha well spotted Keaton! Tried to be a big sneaky in this one :D Pinned!
To be fair, “normal sized” Alex Horne is still “little Alex Horne”
