Also on futsal, the GK can only roll it to someone on their half of the court? Or can they throw it in the air to the offensive side of the court to the pivot for example?
The rules we have played with is the GK can throw but the ball has to land or be touched in the defensive half. We have tried to train a bounce pass of sorts. Kind of a basketball style distribution.
Coach, Great video. The biggest thing I struggle with is most teams playing futsal don’t practice futsal. Do you practice these patterns on indoor turf?
Yes they are as opposed to soccer where they'd be called for obstruction (particularly if the ball isn't within playing distance). But as in basketball, the player setting the pick has to have their feet planted when the defender goes into them. And similar to basketball, you can also have the pick do the roll too ;) It's called "blocking an opponent" in the fifa futsal rules. "Blocking an opponent can be considered a legitimate tactic in futsal, as long as the player blocking the opponent is stationary at the time of any contact and does not deliberately cause contact by moving or extending the body into the opponent’s path, and the opponent has the opportunity to evade the block. A block can be performed against an opponent who may or may not have the ball."
Kyle Wilson is pretty good but his stuff is a little less produced than mine. TBH there is a lot but mostly professional stuff not necessarily for youth players.
I’m a coach not a linguist. Perhaps someone more educated in this matter could contribute. But it is referred to in that pronunciation throughout Futsal videos.
Thank you!
Keep them coming!

No they can roll it over the half line. Also throw it over half. Just can’t punt it over.

I do. Planning on getting video of training
Are picks legal in futsal? Thanks for sharing!
Well it’s a nudge. 😆. I mean you can’t tackle or anything but basically just try to be an obstacle for defender.

Thank you Coach Rory, 1st class as always! Are there any other online trainings or resources you recommend for new/aspiring futsal coaches?

Thank you Coach, gracias. Question: can these ideas be used also at Indoor (board wall) Soccer?
Indoor 5v5 soccer is different. My old "futsal videos" on the channel are better tailored to that.
Please explain why pivot would ever be pronounced pee-voh.
I’m a coach not a linguist. Perhaps someone more educated in this matter could contribute. But it is referred to in that pronunciation throughout Futsal videos.
I’m a translator and a coach. Pivot in French would be pee-voh because the t is not pronounced.
Similar to the famous word for snail: escargot. 😅
@ excellent thank you!
@@Lioness452 strange because wing and fix are English words. Why is pivot the only one pronounced in a non-English manner?
