Jeep XJ - Stuck on Defrost

If your Jeep Cherokee is stuck on defrost mode, a broken vacuum line may be the issue. Here is a quick thing to check if you're having the same issue.

I found the line by watching your video, found a crack right at the bend and put duct tape on it to seal it. It works!!!

It worked!!!
In my case, once I trimmed the brittle tubing back, it was too short to reconnect, so I just used a slightly larger diameter piece of tubing to slip over the two vacuum line ends, and then shrink sealed everything together. So now the most delicate part also has a thicker stronger layer of tubing.

Is there a replacement to replace the whole line into firewall? If so would yal know if its accessible through glove box area or does the whole dash need removed?

Sorry, I'm not certain what would be involved if replacing the entire line.

Mine is broken off inside the firewall. I can’t find it on the other side

Yikes, I'm not sure where to find the internal line at the firewall. If I get a chance I'll see if I can hunt it down on mine. I'll update this if I can come up with anything that would help.
