Is it me or does it seem like even astrophotography videos from 4 years ago seem like ages ago. Technology is moving so quickly, that 1 year feels like 10 years. Great show, thanks!

Technology has changes very rapidly in the past year, let alone 4 years ago! But some of the new software we have now can take "older" equipment and make it do new tricks!

@@ontariotelescope 😂😂😂 love that way of saying it! It’s like what the air force does with old aircraft and avionics.

My strategy for re-entering astrophotography after a 35-year pause involves acquiring a high-quality refractor, a sturdy mount, a reliable tripod, an electronic automatic focuser (EAF), ASIAIR and the cheap ASI585 camera. As technological advancements occur, I plan to upgrade my camera, software, or computer accordingly. I utilize free software such as Siril and GraXpert for that reason. A great refractor remains relevant for a long time, and modern mounts are now so precise that they also have extended longevity., leaving an opportunity to put the money to where the technological advancements will likely occur the fastest.

@@meibergstrmandersen9181 That is a solid strategy! The ASI585-Pro camera is an excellent camera too offering amazing results at a low cost.

I have the 60Da and the EOS Ra. I am looking for a 20Da also. Just to add it to my camera collection. A local camera store has a 20D but not the Da version. ❤
