Thanks Marcy for the info! Today and tomorrow I have been taking what’s called “the boots to business” class on base. They give you basic info on starting your own business. Today in class every time the instructor would say something I turned to my husband and said, I just learned that from Marcy! So I have been teaching classes to kids an adults crafts Since 2010! I started watching you a couple months ago and decided to branch out in my art! Now for the last couple months I have been teaching ladies to pour paint on tiles and they love it! I clean and resin them for them. Now thanks to you, I have decided to branch out again and make it a business not just a hobby! Thank you for always being so encouraging to everyone! You are truly a wonderful person and I am blessed to have found your page! God bless you always. ❤️

Thanks for that. I did teach 24 grade 6 kids acrylic pouring back in June this year. We did it on 4x4 ceramic tiles, and in their classroom. I went through the materials, the techniques and how to mix the paints, and they all loved it. I did it on a Friday afternoon, and the kids left the tiles in their classroom over the weekend, so they were dry for Monday to take home. The only thing I didn't do was put a top coat on them, but told them to get their parents to help them with that. The teacher paid for all the supplies, and I didn't charge for my time, because I just wanted to share the joy of painting. Next time, for sure I'm charging!

Thanks for the info. I have been teaching 4 classes of after school art ( 1 hr) for kids ages 8-13 in spring and fall since 2010. For them I use 8x10 in a $store roaster pan ( I re-use them each year). I also put pushpins in the back of canvas to keep out of paint and set them to dry on plastic.
This fall I did several adult pouring classes through the local arts council I belong to. I get paid and it really helps getting our grants. The first 4 were 16x20 and an 8x10. I use the large cement mixing tubs with pushpins and freezer paper in the bottom so I don't have to clean the tubs so much. The bars across the tubs to hold the canvas are pieces of rebar or the wall strip for shelf brackets. Rebar works well and is cheaper. The last class was 2- 8x10's and a 10x10. I used beige (black ones are warped) boot trays from walmart with the freezer paper and pushpins for drying on plastic. It is a 2 hr evening or Sat class. The cost is $50 Cdn and advertised as "no talent required". I also put together a set of notes to email so they did not spend time taking notes. Everyone has really enjoyed them and we will do more in the spring as our winter weather is unpredictable .I watch all your videos. What I have learned from you has enabled me to share with the people in our community.

Thanks dear, I’m looking for how to start teaching 6 to 12 children. With which kind of tips and techniques to improve their creativity more than to imitate art.

Thank you for your presentation, great ideas & guidance for a class. I recently opened my own studio and am starting after-school classes soon. My main concern is how to finish a project in two hours like the sample piece with the tree and moon, mostly how to paint the background and get it dry enough to do the tree on top in that time?

    Great video
I’m am an fluid artist and have taught a class recently it was great fun
The only one thing I could say is promote a lot and make sure people know where and how to sign up and pay
The art center I did mine at did not even know how to run there own business by the time the class came around I had 2 people figure out how to sign up on line lots and lots of people asking the art center how to pay for the class. And the ignorant volunteers there just told them if you don’t figure it out maybe show up at the class and if there is room pay there and get in.
I had to prepare for full class of 30 just in case but only four people showed up.
    Sooooooooooo frustrating

What is a reasonable number of people to have in teaching a beginner acrylic pour class? And I would love your checklist on how to setup a class for teaching, etc. Thank You.

Great info! Thanks so much for sharing! One question... How are you pricing classes these days, as this video is several years old now. In my area, (FL) I think we are pricing our classes to low. One person where I work charges around $28.00 for the paint-n-sip class, and she gives everyone an apron to take home. Maybe it's the local economy driving her prices. We live by the beach so we get a lot of guests from other parts of the country stopping into our shop on any given day.

It will depend on materials but I've taught classes in FL recently where I charged about $350-400 for a day workshop

I like the friendly way you share this info. & agree with so many points you made. But, sorry, I think you could use a nicer painting than that tree in your next video which I hope there will be several.
