In 2009, Rajkumar Hirani wrote, edited, and directed the Hindi-language comedy-drama film 3 Idiots. Abhijat Joshi co-wrote the screenplay, which was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Three years after their reunion in Rang De Basanti (2006), Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi play the film's eponymous roles.
