Considering the state of UK roads these days... "road" is now very close to "off-road". Every journey an adventure and a work out for that 19" and suspension.
I remember seeing the CL77 scrambler 305 on the Bike Shed and thought "that's exactly how a motorcycle should sound". It's a shame bikes don't sound like that anymore. Looking forward to seeing the laning video, Butser Hill would be interesting 😅
I like the headlight cowl and saddlebag. The high mudguard is at the wrong angle. The handguards aren't necessary. I seem to remember you liked the Rebel. I knew you'd like the CL. The 19'' front wheel suits it. Great little bike. I don't need two road scramblers. I have a Yamaha SCR950. I'll be watching all your CL videos. Nick J
I've just got used CB500F and agree on that motor. It's lovely if you're realistic ,mine's 95% used for commuting , on country lanes and across the Moors where it's brilliant, on dual carriageways at the speeds people drive at,as opposed to the legal limits,I'd advise sticking to the inside lane as much as possible, even maintaining much over 80 is hard work unless the road is dead flat and is more effort than it's worth, probably less so if you're less than my 16 stone . Probably the slowest bike I've owned for decades but finding myself an elderly git ,somewhat to my surprise ,these days I researched and knew exactly what I was buying and I'm pretty pleased with it . Only other issue is the build quality, maybe Honda still are better made than other bikes these days but even compared to my old Bancit 600 it feels flimsy and scratches very easily. Very light and agile, feels like traily after what I'm used to. I keep seeing the faired version touted as a "mini Fireblade",believe that guff and you're in for a disappointment because it's basically a tarted up commuter bike. I really like the CL,all the bike most people will ever need but a bit weird it's based on the Rebel rather than the X,or even the F which as I've already said feels a lot like a trailbike in many ways.
It is a funky little bike, and after our spin the other day, it does seem to get round the twisties pretty well too! Style wise, I think I prefer the Rebel, but this does look good still with the style packs fitted! 🙂
I really like the CL 500. Looking forward to you sharing your thoughts and adventures. What if I am torn between CL500 and Super Cub 125? Thank you. Happy trails.
Well what can I say? It’s not an cmx1100? Is it … apart from the lack of the 1100’s legroom it’s an awesome bike…. But the 500 hmmmm nah. Sorry mate but no! … you know me I change more than you change you pants…lol. I think it’ll be too light, I now ride a triumph 1200 scrambler xe!
Wow! that is one cheap looking, ugly bike. Looks like it was built in someones garage using spare parts from several wrecked motorcycles and a can of mat black spray paint. Seems most every company making bikes today are trying to see who can male the least attractive, styleless bike possible. I own 5 Honda motorcycles but won't be buying another till they get back to making bikes that don't look like they came off the set of Mad Max. I don't blame you for not doing a walk around at the end.

If the army rode motorcycles it would be this one...
Had a sit on one at Honda dealer today while mine is being worked on.
Must be lightest clutch I’ve felt and not too high for the vertically challenged
I purchased one as a winter hack…did well in the puddles given the amount of water we had over the weekend
Nice one

Yeah sounds a bit dead
Sounds (the character) a bit like my little GK, although I did some green laning on its first ride 😁

Knuckle guards are handy for wind and rain but that’s it 😂

The extras make it a good looking bike. 👍
Nice mate! Sounds like you had fun there
100%

You have a typo in your title Mr F....,,,
Thanks , now sorted .. appreciate it
Great little bike. However, I can’t think of any bike that wouldn’t be enjoyable on a day like that.
That’s fair enough 😂
Nice video, not sure I like the white bits on the front though.
Certainly take some getting used to
That looks like the Honda MT5 i had about 40 years ago 😂
How is the landing position you forgot to mention ;)
wait till the triumph 400 scramble comes out ,ithink this bike will suffer,

Honda CL500 or Honda Rebel 500?

It has more leg room that the cmx1100 (higher seat on this) 😜
I think scramblers need laced wheels. Cast is disappointing.
Loveing the bike looking forward to come
