What breath control!!
Okay the whole thing was great, but that last high G was crazy
He held for about 30 second! Amazing! Can’t wait to see it later this month, live in HD . I love Nadine Sierra too. (But do find the bizarre modern staging of this bel canto gem distracting. And not in a good way. (Call me a traditionalist!)
I was in the audience and it was thrilling...the crowd went absolutely nuts
FANTASTIC ARTURO. DONAZETTI WOULD GIVE HIM A HUG!
Absolutely brilliant! WEll done Artur.
¡Increíble Arturo!
Beautiful Greetings to all of you who appreciates Classical Music🎵
damn that was amazing
WOW. Artur - you da man! ❤️👍
Ok to listen to without the video. How was this guy allowed to hold the note for so long?
Awesome.
BTW, this is Artur R playing Enrico.
Arturo was Lucia’s ill fated husband.
Arturo ist the Italien Form of ARTUR. It ist about his NAME not his ROLE.
This is Arty from Los Pepe, his sister Lucia works at the hair salon.
Incredibile Artur. Spettacolare.
Bravo maestro!!!
Saw this last night. It is like the Peter Brook Midsummer night’s dream of decades ago, where all the trappings of “ Fairyland” were dispensed with.
Wow!
Bravo Arturo!!!!
Saw him do this live and the audience just went nuts
The singing is amazing! Beautiful. My one critique is the lyrics are talking about making traitors pay. Getting revenge. I could not tell at from the acting that this was the case. Sometimes I opera it seems as it performer's forgo acting I'm effort to sound beautiful. The 2 can exist together. I plan to see the show since this is only a clip. Bel Canto. Definitely
yep. Great technical singing from everyone. Bored me to tears dramatically.

Is it a Guinness record? 😀
The translation seems strange, to put it mildly. "La pietade in suo favore" means "The pity in her favour"
And wow!! Beautiful
wow
Rucinski - gusto interpretativo poco raffinato, vocalità fuori repertorio.

I miss the Scottish highland setting. Nevertheless, when it comes to the singing, Artur Rucinski is in fine form as Enrico thanks to his endurance and stamina. However, baritones such as John Brownlee, Ettore Bastianini, and Robert Merrill will always reign supreme as Enrico.
Well, comparing any baritone to Bastianini can't end well for them. He truly was one in a million.
@@krowapaulinka4351 Amen to that. Let's also not forget about the other great baritones of the past such as Titta Ruffo, Tito Gobbi, Mattia Battistini, and Giangiacomo Guelfi.
@@horstwidl4378 Indeed. I can never forget about Rolando Panerai. He was one of my most favourite Enricos ever.
When is the Met going to invest in people who can also act and move naturally on stage? The typical ‘opera singer’ gestures and dead eyes are getting old for me.
Don’t get me wrong, I expect great singing too…but I still want to be told a moving story.
This Director is a hack and current Met really loves this regietheater nonsense.
I had to leave after act 1. What an utterly horrendous production. Jesus Christ Peter Gelb, read the room. After a two year luck down you present to us this lackluster staging devoid of any romance or poetry by a director who was more interested in making a film rather than directing an opera???? WTF
Totally agree! It ranks on a par by the Met’s hideous staging of “Rigoletto” by updating it to 1950’s Las Vegas. To this day I still cringe when Ithink of the final scene when Rigoletto finds his dying daughter, Gilda, in the trunk of a car!
I must agree. Operas are stupid out of its original place and context. The day before yesterday I saw a La Boheme version happening in Paris in 1970. The singers were great, by the way
The production is garbage. Opera has long outlived its purpose as an artform or even entertainment if people need this to pay attention to it. The Met should be turned into condos which would be a bigger more important contribution to the cultural landscape.
Io arresterei il regista…
Tawdry, vulgar, cheap- our dear Met.
Perfectly informed about the vocal possibilities of all principal singes in this cast I'll without any doubt give the first place to Mr. Rucinski, he is obviously the best in this performance. Bravo!
@operafairy
