Best Plugin for Creating Windows in SketchUp
The plugin will not make an opening if you are
placing a window on a grouped wall or when you enabled the "Cuts opening" option.
so here are few solutions.
1. do not work with grouped walls.
2. go inside the wall group and place a window. and use the "Wall Puncher" tool to cut opening.
3. if you still want to place windows on top-level on grouped walls. follow these steps
- - make sure your wall group does not have subgroups.
- - place a window on the grouped wall and click on the "Wall Puncher" tool. it will create an opening behind the window.
- - now right-click on the window and click on "Unglue" after that you will able to move a window into a wall.

This is such a brillant extension thanks for going through all the menu options and i am using sketchup pro 2021 and my practise is going fine so fingers crossed it work with bigger models. Hoping the developer has fixed the bugs

In Sketchup Make 2017 / Windows 10 - the Wall Puncher tool does not seem to work. I've tried on grouped and ungrouped walls and on walls as components with negative results. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, Just installed on Mac and keep getting a bug splat when i try to create a window
i got it,but the window puncher does not works,not on ungrouped,not on grouped.what`s th reason?

Is there a 2017 or 2018 version?
Very nice video and great extension. When I have created the window and placed it against the wall, I not manage to place the window inside the opened wall. The wall puncher only creates an opening. Because the window component has multiple green axes, it not moves along the green axes. I have to explode the component and make a new component again. What is going wrong?
plugin not push the window itself when you are.
placing a window on a grouped wall or when you enabled "Cuts opening" option. I guess you are placing them on grouped walls.
so here are few solutions.

@@TutorialsUp Yes I placed them on grouped walls. In my work flow, all walls must be grouped and tagged seperately The unglue trick works good. Thanks.

When you place one of these windows, are all the lines connected or are the elements groups?

The polygonal option is not working in the 2016 version.
I have the plug-in installed and enabled. However after I have filled in the form and I come to "Create and place" nothing happens. What can be the problem?

@@TutorialsUp I have restarted SketchUp several times. I have installed and un-installed the plug-in several times. I have installed it on SketchUp 2018 with exact the same result. Nothing helps. I run SketchUp 2019 on a Mac Pro with the macOS Mojave ver 10.14.6.
sorry i have no mac os to try however it's compatible with mac.
I have a Mac, too, and nothing happens when I click Create and Place.
Great app - thanks so much ... but when I place a window on my wall it sits proud of the face of the wall and not within the wall opening? How do I resolve this please?

how can we make difficult type of windows like a window with fixed and french type together by using this plugin ?
I tried to explain all. but this plugin can make limited types of windows only. However, you can edit them as you want. 😊

I installed this plug in on office computer and I use it daily. I have installed it on my home computer and I can't seem to access it. Both computers are Windows 10, both Sketchups are 2018 Pro.
try with both methods
1, install via sketchup Windows > Extension Warehouse
2, Download from: extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/windows-builder
and install Windows > Extension manager.
Restart Sketchup.

why my wall puncher isn't working?
it's not work on top of groups or component, it only worked on raw geometry.

Same disappointing result here with SU2021 Mac. The extension installs and I see the settings window, but hitting CREATE & PLACE does not work. Perhaps someday the author will update it ... I will contribute.
