You know what I find funny? People think that they have the audacity to tear down this remake of Lorde's song just because Kanye West did it. What would happen if Kanye West's name wasn't in the title? I bet more than half of you would say that you love it and some of you would even go on to say that it is better than the original. What you people need to learn is how to separate an artist's personality and their work. I absolutely despise Kanye West as a person but I have to commend his career and what he did on this song. By stripping the song of its original beat and adding 808s on top of it with a few melodic piano breakdowns and the choir in the background, he made this song all the more haunting and perfect for a dark film like the Hunger Games. I also feel that this beat actually fits Lorde's vocals better than the original because it helps convey the darkness that Lorde's voice brings and it isolates her and allows the listener to really hone in and focus on her. As for the comments saying that Kanye West is talent less and doesn't know how to make music, you better have a good explanation why. Have you listened to The College Dropout? Late Registration? Graduation? 808s and Heartbreak? My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy? The man has sculpted one of the most diverse discographies in music today and in music history and has yet to repeat himself from a sonic standpoint and from the albums I named, he has offered enticing lyrical content as well. Seriously learn to separate art and person and just acknowledge that Kanye has transcended the genre. You don't have to enjoy it but if you don't at least respect it, then you better have a very reasonable explanation why so (and "He's such a douchebag that's why" isn't very constructive).
Good points, Orson Scott Card is another great example of this. Dude is a complete asshat, but that doesn't make Ender's Game any less brilliant. I agree. She sounds a lot better without all the production additives. I think this tone works a lot better with the lyrics, the movie, and Lorde. I like this sound for her, and she should make more songs like this.
It sounds better her voice didn't fit the pop aspect of the vocals, she has this indie rock kinda voice mixed with lana del rey. The instrumental aspect sounds better it's calming I could reply this a million times it's amazing I love it.
This definitely suits the tone of Mockingjay better than the original version of the song. The thing I had with the original was that it was to upbeat and fast and didn't suit the tone of Mockingjay but this version is much better.
To me it's the exact opposite. Mockingjay Pt. 1 is all about Katniss and the others in District 13 starting a revolution, and as such the chorus of the original seemed more appropriate to the rapidly rising tension in the plot. This version, though not bad at all, seems more appropriate to the first film instead of Mockingjay, where there was a lot less "hope" among the characters
This is how i envisioned this song's tone. Never seen a hunger games movie but from the trailers and shit about survival, that poppy shit from the original was outplaced. Like the intro was cool then it went downhill on the original. Kanye nailed the concept
Sweat Music completely agree, the original just sounds better. More energy than the remix. Was hoping for something different, but in the end, just didn't do it for me.
Honestly any of you who think kanye didnt do this song justice are full of shit, the mans a complete narcissist, but hes a talented producer this re-edit has a greater atmosphere than the original hands down
I personally like the original one more. In Kanye's version the kick after the 'i'm done with it' part is just ... missing, making it sound dull. Not gonna lie the beginning sounds fabulous and makes it even more mysterious but other than that the energy got kinda lost.
@@0O0OO0 Yep, that's why his name is up there in big letters on the video and he's credited as a writer and producer, because he had nothing to do with the song...
I would like that collaboration if for no other reason than Lorde admires Ye. I think it's so cool when people are inspired by artists that are a world apart. Those two different elements are an opportunity for something dope and other worldly, like this song.
Just goes to show how genius Kanye West is, it doesn't matter what he says or how much he gets hated on, he feeds of that for publicity, making him centre of attention. He knows how to sell music while dominating the hiphop/rap music industry. You hate on him for his ego and arrogance but has 21 Grammys and all his successes to back it up. I'm glad he's producing reworks like this. So I don't get why people call him talentless? Seriously his albums are masterpieces. Ever listened to Jesus Walks? Can't tell me nothing? Stronger? & Runaway? These are some of most influential songs in rap.
It's crazy that we have people claiming Kanye must have had little to nothing to do with the production of this song, because it doesn't sound like something he could come up with. We are talking about Kanye, Not DJ Mustard . Have y'all even listened to his music? Listen to 808 & Heartbreak and you'll hear his sound in this song. Edit(6/12/18): I kinda feel bad about that Mustard comment, he's a talented and evolving producer. Gotta give him credit.
***** Yeah I just finished listening to some of his stuff. I still think he is a asshole but he has some good stuff. I don't know if I would consider him a musical genius but I can see it. I don't feel like he did much for this song though. He is definitely not the worst modern day "Musical Genius" and he stands out.
People often comment on his ego and what not. Yes, he is an arsehole. But there is no denying the man is quite possibly one of the greatest producers of this generation.
He isn't proficient on any musical instrument, and relies heavily on auto-tune to correct his average singing voice. He's adept at pushing buttons on a sampler pad, and rearranging clips in ProTools. That doesn't make you a musician.
Ya "I think his ability to evolve from album to album and still make something that I think is really incredible is super cool. That's way harder to do than people think," Lorde said. "I heard someone say that Kanye will do something first, and everyone will think it’s weird until six months later, when everyone else is doing it.
I'm loving the slower beat to this version. But both are amazing. I love the sort of echoing and piano in the background. Beautiful piece, Lord and Kanye. Great work!! :D
Remember Lorde gave her consent for him to rework this song and was the one that had it added to the HG soundtrack, so obviously she saw something of value and respect in him. Think on that Lorde fans.
Fucking love kanye, his album themes always amaze me. In my opinion he is the most relevent artist of this generation, and deserves a lot more credit than he gets. Very hard working musician and a brilliant entertainer.
I love both versions :) This one is more gloomy like you could picture like a slow motion scene with Katniss and the instrumental in the background. And with the original song can be used while she's fighting the chorus part. Really good
I'm a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm And the scars that mark my body, they're silver and gold My blood is a flood of rubies, precious stones It keeps my veins hot, the fires find a home in me I move through town, I'm quiet like a fire And my necklace is of opal, I tie it and untie it And our people talk to me, but nothing ever hits So people talk to me, and all the voices just burn holes I'm going in (ooh) This is the start of how it all ever ends They used to shout my name, now they whisper it I'm speeding up and this is the Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart We rip the start, the colors disappear I never watch the stars there's so much down here So I just try to keep up with them Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart I dream all year, but they're not the same kinds And the shivers move down my shoulder blades in double time And now people talk to me I'm slipping out of reach now People talk to me, and all their faces blur But I got my fingers laced together and I made a little prison And I'm locking up everyone that ever laid a finger on me I'm going in (ooh) This is the start of how it all ever ends They used to shout my name, now they whisper it I'm speeding up and this is the Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart We rip the start, the colors disappear I never watch the stars there's so much down here So I just try to keep up with them Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat Sparking up my heart And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat-beat-beat-beat
Didn't you know that I was writing a dissertation on how this version of this song changed my life in a youtube comment (jk, i'm sending love to the people who have deeper thoughts than me lol)
I usually don't like reworks/remixes like this but I love this. Lorde is one of my favorite singers and I love how you can hear all the reverb in her voice, and you can clearly understand what she's saying.
Can everyone stop saying how bad Kanye's music is? It really isn't. The top comment states that this is the only song Kanye touched that isn't dog shit. I mean, set this song aside, are you forgetting about Amazing? Stronger? Power? All of the Lights? Heartless? All of those songs have deep meaning behind them. Most of you listen to all his arrogant words but have you ACTUALLY listened to what he has to say? I doubt it. I doubt any of you people have listened to Runaway, Jesus Walks, Hold My Liquor, New Slaves, Gorgeous, Monster, Hell of a Life, and all of his other (extremely) under-rated songs. Instead of listening to your extremely popular Taylor Swift (where all her songs are exactly the same) or Daft Punk (where many of you haven't listened to till this year) or even Eminem (where his new music is shit compared to his old ones), try giving good artists, like Kanye, a listen. Fun facts: Lorde's favorite songs of 2013 includes Hold My Liqour by Kanye West, Kanye won 21 Grammys, Kanye scored the most critically acclaimed album (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) of 2010 (with a score of 94), Martin Scorsese (One of the greatest directors of all time, not to mention his great taste in music) featured one of Kanye West's songs (Black Skinhead) in the trailer of the Oscar nominated movie The Wolf of Wall Street. By the way, I'm not trying to say the Kanye West is the best artist of all time, I'm saying that you all should think twice before giving a bad name to Kanye. He is definitely ONE of the best artists alive. Sorry if there are any grammatical errors, I'm only typing what I feel blindly. In case you're wondering about how bad my taste is, my favorite bands are Green Day (old songs), Radiohead, Parquet Courts, Arcade Fire, The Ramones, Vampire Weekend and U2.
kevin williams No, what we see is the asshole that stole the mic from Taylor Swift and made her cry. That pretty much makes anything he does complete shit (except for this song because Lorde brings it up to brilliance)
Cinder Cyclone Well, like I said, there are reasons. What you probably didn't know was that his mother died around that time and he fell into a slight depression, which he tried to cover up with alcohol. While he was drunk, he went up and took the microphone from Taylor Swift. Although it was still unforgivable, you gotta have sympathy for the guy. Instead, people (like you) go ahead and make him feel worse about himself, y'know. You should really read up before commenting, man!
Yes, because when I lose someone close to me, I would definitely steal the mic on stage ON LIVE TV from a pretty young blonde girl. That is bullshit, regardless of the reason. You choose the action, you choose the consequences.
Imagine being 17 and one of your idols (and one of the biggest names in the world) acknowledges and then proceeds to actually work on your own art? Fuck.
Trav Chili Yup. I'm a fan, but the dude makes it so hard to like him a lot of the times. And when you try to defend him against haters then he goes off and does or says some dumb shit ://
THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING. WHY AM I LISTENING TO THIS JUST NOW? You have to admit though, Lorde and Kanye are two incredibly talented people. The piano especially was amazing.
Kanye did a great job on the rework. He's known for his production skills. As for those hating on kanye, lorde said that he's her idol. So why cant you let a teenage girl live out one of her dreams without your biased bashing. Go look at kanye's metacritic page and grammy wins and then come back and say he's horrible.
As much as I love the original song, I do feel like this version really brings out the feeling of the Hunger Games. The vocals and instruments compliment the movie scores even more so, which helps connect this song to the movie. Kanye really made this song so much better. Don’t think about his antics when listening to this, just think of what he’s done to improve the song. This is years late, but I felt it should be said.
Musical Genius whether you like him or not. Haters are just butthurt by Taylor swift moment. You should loosen up he has given away his awards before at the B.E.T Awards for best video "Good life" and the best rapper award in 2008 its funny know one talks about that.
@@saqibmunir2102 He's given away awards he's won at least twice off the top of my head, once to OutKast, once to Lil Wayne, You're right, funny how no one brings that up. He himself says to him, awards are about rewarding the absolute best and most impactful. So he hates when people don't reward the absolute best. And in that sense he's right, the Single Ladies was a impactful pop culture moment. Who remembers the You Belong With Me video?
No lyrics from Kanye? Awh I disappoint. Sounds great though, this version seems more suited for a film like The Hunger Games (even though I like the original as well). Musical genius is Kanye West.
Well i dont think he really had that much to do with it except the consept but i get your point. Also i think him rapping wouldve totally ruined the song and message, in such a powerful and unique song i dont think that rapping wouldve been any good
Liam Solbjerg It's not a concept, and most definitely not a 'Consept'. They're also both lyrics, rapping and whatever genre Lorde is considered, rapping wouldn't hurt the song's message as long as Kanye got his shit together and wrote a decent verse to this that fit what the song was about, and in MY opinion i think rapping would've made it MORE unique.Because, Lorde's sound is something you wouldn't usually hear with someone like Kanye. But,that last part was an opinion so take that part as you wish.
Liam Solbjerg Kanye West is smart enough to adapt to what a specific song is asking he's one of the rappers that just raps about pussy and how many hoes he's got. He's not Lil' Wayne.
If this was the original beat and the original was the Kanye West rework people in the comments wouldn't even be slating this version. Just goes to show that many don't know how to form their own opinion and just follow based on hate and what was put out first.
A father of a home that was broken by my X wife. I feel this song so deeply especially when I think about my children who seem to rarely want to be around me. I miss them dearly.
Kanye is one of the most talented! A man of vision and ahead of his time. Completely misunderstood. People say they want the truth spoken, but when someone does especially Kanye they are shut down and completely judged for their views not their art form or accomplishments. I'm pretty sure 99% of people don't even know that Kanye is a producer ( lots of hit songs )
I don't care what the edgy tabloid-slave 14-year-olds who've never heard a note of Kanye's music have to say, this is a bomb rework. His composition did a lot to strip the poppier elements of the original in favor of brooding atmospherics, which I think is a great choice.
Thank you for proving to me that you really don't know anything at all by having to reduce yourself to that because you don't have a rebuttal. It would be pretty safe to say you're a kid.
Listening to this in August 2020....there is an eerie anxiety that comes from this version with everything going on the way it is. Of course, stay safe and we will make it through this.
The two verisons are different. The original one feels like when Katniss is standing in front of the crowd saying that she is now the leader of the revolution. But she is obliged to be the leader. Maybe she can't bear up with it. This one sounds like when Katniss is alone at a corner. She thinks of the hunger games, the country and her lover. She is tired and infused with hatred. Undoubtedly, this one is more dark.
Kanye West is amazingly talented. I won't deny that. He's great at what he does and he knows it. But sometimes it's best to be modest. When you show you are too into yourself, people start to judge you and you start to think of yourself in a way that isn't right for your talent. Modesty is a great way of thinking. I don't think confidence is a bad thing. In fact confidence is attractive and can be very beneficial, but I think Kanye takes it too far sometimes. You should ALWAYS think of yourself in a way that you believe that you can always get better. No matter what. Thinking you are a god and can do no wrong, isn't the best way to think for anyone, especially in his line of work. If he continues to think he can only get better instead of thinking he's perfect...great things would come out of that. And less people would diss him so much. We wouldn't forget all his faults and things he did wrong, but we'd see that he was not only growing with his talent, but with his humility.
+Uterika Laguerre " believe that you can always get better." this really shows you need to watch some interviews with him, he is very often saying how he can do better and how he hates some of his previous work.
Yes, Kanye is a jerk but his work is great and his music is genius. He always puts a lot of work into his music and you can tell. Don't let who he is personally ruin the way you perceive his music.
KANYE WEST. YOU MAY HATE HIS PERSONALITY OR JUST HIM BUT NO ONE CAN EVER ARGUE ABOUT HIS MUSICAL GENIUS. HES AN AMAZING PRODUCER. THIS TRACK IS INCREDIBLE. Before anyone dares try and discredit Kanye's MUSICAL WORKS, I suggest you do your research on the man because like a few comments below under the user name FLOOD, you'll be bombarded with reasons as to why your comment is FALSE! This definitely suits the tone of Mockingjay better than the original version of the song. The thing I had with the original was that it was to upbeat and fast and didn't suit the tone of Mockingjay but this version is much better.
I agree
I agree too
*definitely(?)
To me it's the exact opposite. Mockingjay Pt. 1 is all about Katniss and the others in District 13 starting a revolution, and as such the chorus of the original seemed more appropriate to the rapidly rising tension in the plot.
This version, though not bad at all, seems more appropriate to the first film instead of Mockingjay, where there was a lot less "hope" among the characters
lol wat rot
This is how i envisioned this song's tone. Never seen a hunger games movie but from the trailers and shit about survival, that poppy shit from the original was outplaced. Like the intro was cool then it went downhill on the original. Kanye nailed the concept
see this guy understands
As a song to listen to though, I think the original is way better.
Sweat Music completely agree, the original just sounds better. More energy than the remix. Was hoping for something different, but in the end, just didn't do it for me.
Honestly any of you who think kanye didnt do this song justice are full of shit, the mans a complete narcissist, but hes a talented producer this re-edit has a greater atmosphere than the original hands down
totally
I personally like the original one more. In Kanye's version the kick after the 'i'm done with it' part is just ... missing, making it sound dull. Not gonna lie the beginning sounds fabulous and makes it even more mysterious but other than that the energy got kinda lost.
@@0O0OO0 he reworked the song....
@@0O0OO0 Yep, that's why his name is up there in big letters on the video and he's credited as a writer and producer, because he had nothing to do with the song...

Lorde! I will wait a thousand years for your new album but please don't make me have to! 😭
David S. Vega well luckily you only had to wait 1 year
it's out!
This is defifnitely 808's and heartbreak, Kanye
YAASSSS I've been waiting for a Lorde Kanye collaboration for ages now hopefully they do a full collaboration soon
finally, someone that likes both of them
This is my new musical dream team. I want a collab album from them, and it should be called Yeezus is Lorde.
Yeezus is the goat
***** Fine don't listen it. There are other people that would love a collab, one of those people being Lorde herself.
I would like that collaboration if for no other reason than Lorde admires Ye. I think it's so cool when people are inspired by artists that are a world apart. Those two different elements are an opportunity for something dope and other worldly, like this song.
Kanye is flexing his production skills here and he's doing a great job at it.
I love Kanye West's voice so much.
Same.
+Dave Stark Don't worry. Just because you disagree with my opinion I'll be sure to put that on my to do list ASAP. thanks for the suggestion.
good thing you can hear the changes he did to the song tho
omfg i love how you reacted to this
+Dave Stark no stop go to hell
Just goes to show how genius Kanye West is, it doesn't matter what he says or how much he gets hated on, he feeds of that for publicity, making him centre of attention. He knows how to sell music while dominating the hiphop/rap music industry. You hate on him for his ego and arrogance but has 21 Grammys and all his successes to back it up. I'm glad he's producing reworks like this.
So I don't get why people call him talentless? Seriously his albums are masterpieces. Ever listened to Jesus Walks? Can't tell me nothing? Stronger? & Runaway? These are some of most influential songs in rap.
honestly he done an amazing job
The dream team
I honestly see you comment EVERYWHERE 😄
Evita Rogers haha, I watch a lot of UA-cam & like to share my thoughts
I actually do you see you ever, but your comments are always soooo positive :D
Aboood165 Lol sharing your opinion and thoughts in a comment section is terrible spam you're so right.
Im screaming, you're like some sort of comment god watching over the land of videos
Gotta give him credit.
your edit made me a better day!Thank you i feel the positivity
mustard is very generic west coast type beat producer tho
mustard on the beat ho
ye the goat
I never thought I'd say this... but I'm glad Kayne West remixed it. This is so much better than the original.
Yeah, fan of both artists, but if you haven't noticed, Kanye really is a musical genius. Lorde sure seems to think so as well.
Chris Weisert ... Kanye.. a "Musical genius" ... HAHAHAHAHAHAH If Kanye is a musical genius then I'm Shakespeare.
Logic You can´t listen to a couple of kanye songs at then define if he´s a genius or not. He changed the whole hiphop genre.
Kanye West is a musical genius and no one can deny that. Period.
Wow, i didn't expect that at all. Kanye West is a fantastic musician.
Kanye is not a musician; he's a button pusher. And though popular, not that talented.
He isn't proficient on any musical instrument, and relies heavily on auto-tune to correct his average singing voice.
He's adept at pushing buttons on a sampler pad, and rearranging clips in ProTools. That doesn't make you a musician.
Erm - yeah, not impressed with Kanye in FourFive Seconds, at all. I've heard better karaoke. Rihanna did a nice job, though.
if its so easy to push buttons and rearrange clips, why aren't you famous?
His wife only became famous because she made a sex tape. I'm betting that didn't take much skill either.
I actually like this better than original
Same, just add a video clip and it is perfected.
I thought it would go good with the batman v superman movie lol
Me too.
nightwing2016 batsvssupes and who would be singing it wonder woman.
bloody right!!
I'll die waiting for new music now. Please Lorde, have mercy!
she finally did it
Remember Lorde gave her consent for him to rework this song and was the one that had it added to the HG soundtrack, so obviously she saw something of value and respect in him. Think on that Lorde fans.
Fucking love kanye, his album themes always amaze me. In my opinion he is the most relevent artist of this generation, and deserves a lot more credit than he gets. Very hard working musician and a brilliant entertainer.
I love both versions :)
This one is more gloomy like you could picture like a slow motion scene with Katniss and the instrumental in the background. And with the original song can be used while she's fighting the chorus part.
Really good
I'm a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm
And the scars that mark my body, they're silver and gold
My blood is a flood of rubies, precious stones
It keeps my veins hot, the fires find a home in me
I move through town, I'm quiet like a fire
And my necklace is of opal, I tie it and untie it
And our people talk to me, but nothing ever hits
So people talk to me, and all the voices just burn holes
I'm going in (ooh)
This is the start of how it all ever ends
They used to shout my name, now they whisper it
I'm speeding up and this is the
Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart
We rip the start, the colors disappear
I never watch the stars there's so much down here
So I just try to keep up with them
Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart
I dream all year, but they're not the same kinds
And the shivers move down my shoulder blades in double time
And now people talk to me I'm slipping out of reach now
People talk to me, and all their faces blur
But I got my fingers laced together and I made a little prison
And I'm locking up everyone that ever laid a finger on me
I'm going in (ooh)
This is the start of how it all ever ends
They used to shout my name, now they whisper it
I'm speeding up and this is the
Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart
We rip the start, the colors disappear
I never watch the stars there's so much down here
So I just try to keep up with them
Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart
And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat
Sparking up my heart
And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat-beat-beat-beat
it's of rope, not opal. It references the hanging tree.
i love this version! its mysterious and more powerful, which perfectly suit the movie. and i think the way lorde's voice is suits the music too😁
Listening to this to get pumped for Mockingjay Part 2... One. More. Day.

Beautifully written.. True fan..and no they don't see the genius
kevin williams No, what we see is the asshole that stole the mic from Taylor Swift and made her cry. That pretty much makes anything he does complete shit (except for this song because Lorde brings it up to brilliance)
Amen I say to you. Amen.
Kanye- " Beyoncé im sorry to tell you this but, LORDE HAS THE BEST MUSIC OF ALL TIME!
youre absolutely WRONG hahaha ...Beyonce is the queen B not fucking old face like LORDE

Lmfao Lorde is 18.
Imagine being 17 and one of your idols (and one of the biggest names in the world) acknowledges and then proceeds to actually work on your own art? Fuck.
I'm going to be listening to this all night for real
Yet you still find people who say that Kanye is untalented just because they don't like him..
Makes me so angry when I hear that
Mundi Cox He is untalented
Новиков Эдуард K.
I'd like to see you rework a piece of music the way he did this...............
This is so hauntingly graceful. Love it! Suits the Hunger Games theme more than the original.
This is years late, but I felt it should be said.
gotta love all these lorde fans hating on kanye, evidently unaware lorde has described him as her "idol"
This is tremendously good. Kanye really took the spirit of the song and movie and amplified it here. Brilliant.
Always return to this masterpiece. So amazing when the piano kicks in towards the end.
If this didn't have kanye's name attached to it you would be eating it up
Musical Genius whether you like him or not.
@@thomasnelson5758 It wasn't his award to give away
No lyrics from Kanye? Awh I disappoint.
Sounds great though, this version seems more suited for a film like The Hunger Games (even though I like the original as well).
Musical genius is Kanye West.
Well i dont think he really had that much to do with it except the consept but i get your point. Also i think him rapping wouldve totally ruined the song and message, in such a powerful and unique song i dont think that rapping wouldve been any good
Yes, rapping ruins most songs unless it's JUST a rapping song.
Liam Solbjerg I think he could've added some vocals to the bridge though. He has a nice low singing voice that might fit here.
Liam Solbjerg
It's not a concept,and most definitely not a 'Consept'.
Music is an international language and for me, this sounds like 2 different tracks.
omg when the piano comes in its BEAUTIFUL. i didn't mind the original but this version is incredible and I can't believe I've never heard this til now
Why did it take me ten years to hear this?
Ok but Kanye ate why lie 💅😌
Randy really outdid himself with this one
LOL yayaya

i cant decide if i like this rework the most or the original... BOTH AMAZING
WHAT THE HELL THAT WAS INCREDIBLE DNFKRKFNG
I really didn't think I would have 2 of my favorite artists together in a song collaboration, but miracles happen 🔥🔥🔥 so majestic
Lorde is the most talented and doesn't need anyone tagging on!
ty Kanye for this
Both this and the original are amazing. Brilliant song with amazing lyrics!
I find this better than the original. I always wanted the original to be darker than they made it sound in the verses. BUT THIS.. WHOO... LOVE IT!
Amazing work Kanye!
Just beautiful ...
I don't care what the edgy tabloid-slave 14-year-olds who've never heard a note of Kanye's music have to say, this is a bomb rework. His composition did a lot to strip the poppier elements of the original in favor of brooding atmospherics, which I think is a great choice.
Hauntingly Beautiful
how can people like this guy be let to work with someone as talented as lorde?
she's just too blessed to work with mortals
I love the outro in this..
perfect!
I'm surprised he was able to stop himself from rapping on this track
It would sound so damn good but it wouldn't fit the mood of the song.
gerizzyYMcrew Are YOU stupid? It was clearly sarcasm, hinting at his modesty. (Again - sarcasm since you're too much of a bigot to understand)
gerizzyYMcrew clearly you don't know who Kanye West is as well as his image that's portrayed.
Just because you listen to his music doesn't mean shit, it's kind of like you obsess yourself with basketball but probably can't shoot at all.
Thank you for proving to me that you really don't know anything at all by having to reduce yourself to that because you don't have a rebuttal. It would be pretty safe to say you're a kid.
Everything the Lord Yeezus touches turns to gold
I didn't know Kanye did this kind of work for others like Lorde. This is pretty bad ass. They need to work togerher more often. I LUV IT!
KUDOS KANYE!
Listening to this in August 2020....there is an eerie anxiety that comes from this version with everything going on the way it is. Of course, stay safe and we will make it through this.
The fact that Kanye made such subtle changes to this song yet still made it 10x better really shows his true artistry.
I actually like this version better than the original....
me too i think is darker
The two verisons are different.
The original one feels like when Katniss is standing in front of the crowd saying that she is now the leader of the revolution. But she is obliged to be the leader. Maybe she can't bear up with it.
This one sounds like when Katniss is alone at a corner. She thinks of the hunger games, the country and her lover. She is tired and infused with hatred.
Undoubtedly, this one is more dark.
Patently waiting for this new album??
Jay Versace wait no longer
Two of my favorite artist!!! Love this!!!
this is incredible, why have I never heard this rework?? I love Kanye and Lorde so much
This is giving me life
Lorde, I'ma let you finish, but this is gotta be the one of the best Kanye West reworks of all time.
Really though, it was awesome, cheers!
Of course i did... Since I'm the same person who posted the reference...? Haha
+Uterika Laguerre in the words of the man himself, "It's hard to be humble when you stuntin on the JumboTron" lol
+Uterika Laguerre " believe that you can always get better." this really shows you need to watch some interviews with him, he is very often saying how he can do better and how he hates some of his previous work.
and always calling himself a God lmaoo like nooooo stop it,you good but he needs to chill.
+gerizzyYMcrew not like that.
+gerizzyYMcrew i wish it sounded more like that, but it doesn't to me..so no.
I love Lorde so much. Her music just makes me feel so relaxed and happy.
Probably one of Lorde's best song, the rework is amazing and it fits so well the hunger games theme.
Yes, Kanye is a jerk but his work is great and his music is genius. He always puts a lot of work into his music and you can tell. Don't let who he is personally ruin the way you perceive his music.
Interesting, I find What people think Kayne is, to be completely hear say, says far more about them! Let the sheep be sheep.
kanye is a genius, oh my god
KANYE = MUSICAL, PRODUCING GENIUS.
