I wish Audi wouldn’t get rid of their S and RS badging on newer models or finally introduce them with the e-tron. Like one on the front grille, one on the side fender for example so you know it’s an S/RS. Same with the face lifted S3 where they removed the S badge on the front. Minor thing but makes a difference imo
So Audi's response to the EV market, which doesn't want the RS e-tron and overpriced EVs in general, is to launch an even more stupidly overpriced EV...makes perfect sense.
The e-Tron has solidified itself as status symbol in many 2nd & 3rd world countries; for me that could be the only reason they even went with making a FL.
It’s a halo car partnered with the taycan. Audi is releasing a large number of more mundane EV models and plenty of ICE cars as well over the next year or so. . So it sells in small numbers but enhances the brand.
yep, audi went all in on the EV market and they can't afford to back out now. I still maintain the tayacn or e tron gt is the best city daily but I see why people are out on the EV market in general (teslas are horrendous build quality and bad at handling and there's the blood battery aspect of EVs)... but really you can say that about all new cars nowadays, they all are overpriced and lacking from an enthusiast's perspective. Hmm, alcantara steering wheel with leather seats..? Weird combination. Also that carbon weave or whatever, I quite dig it yk. Yea the price is outrageous but I do see e trons and rs’ driving about and people seem to like them. Would want to experience driving one myself some day.
I have the original RS GT carbon. That chopped carbon looks so much better than mine. That colour is beautiful (I have standard Daytona grey) Those wheels are awesome and I love that new diffuser
Great review Joe. Blimey what we’re Audi thinking with that 90’s kitchen worktop surface styling? lol.. Not keen on than Bedford green, looks a bit old man spec. I just do not know how these super expensive milk float land yachts will make their manufacturers money? I know they have to produce a % of battery cars to be able to keep making us petrol heads happy with big bhp petrols and diesels. Keep up the great work Joe, you have such a clear concise classy way of delivering content.
100% agreed apart from the seating position. I'm also 1m95 but absolutely don't feel like I'm sitting too high. Pretty sure it's lower than in the F82 M4 for example.
Great video Joe, much love as always, is it just me who wonders why these car makers think we need a more powerful car? We need a electric car that can do over 400 miles at least, as you said, nobody drives a electric car and thinks I need more power, I drove a RWD tesla the other day which is the bottom spec, 6 seconds to 60, mid range grunt to leave some supercars behind in real world, and thats plenty
Pretty awesome updates.. Now they just need to shrink this down 3/4 the size, drop the HP a bit but keep the range, change up the styling just enough to differentiate itself from the big dog and price it between 45k / 65k to compete directly with the Model 3 (Yes I know the M3 is cheaper). Curious if the upcoming A4 EV will resemble this philosophy at all..
The previous model looked way nicer… The pricing is insane; just wait 2 years and you have a massive (really massive) discount on a used e-Tron. 😵💫 The interior of that optioned out top off the range e-Tron looked like it is full of bird poop 🐥
The only thing faster than the speed on this car is its depreciation, you can get a fully Spec'd RS with around 16k miles for around 80k USD now. I will say the forged carbon is more of the if you know you know type but to the general public it does does give off a "bird poop" or dirty appearance. The lower rear vertical brake light also gives off a pretty significant aftermarket look at least to me. But, i'm happy that they at least tried to differentiate the RS and non-RS models. The previous generation they looked identical except some RS badges.
Beautiful car. Once my A7 gets too old, I am getting a used E-Tron GT. Hopefully for less than 60K. Old generation ones are going for about 60K today in California. I hope they are even cheaper in three to four years, once I am ready to get a new car.
I like forged-carbon fiber, but I think it needs to be used very sparingly IMO. For the mirror caps and the inside door sills; sure! I think it makes for a nice touch. Every where else though, no thanks. Especially in the interior dash, it's too "visually" busy of a material.
I think there’s a good place for smaller cars (to be used mainly around cities and built up areas) to be electric, but seriously just stick a nice V8 in something like this. This will drop in value faster that Sunak’s popularity.
That carbon composite looked nice (not great) on the Huracán Performante, but it doesn't belong here, especially on the interior where it seems to have more contrasting bits! The model name on the pillar is even worse than that to me, I absolutely hate it. 😥 Range seems to be very good. Nice and informative video, as always!
While they fixed the abysmal range figures Audi never learnt their lesson why the E Tron GT never sold. It was simply too expensive and similarly priced as a Taycan. Most would go for the Tacan instead. While it's very good looking and now really fast there is a lot more competition in this segment for a decent bit cheaper.
Beautiful looking car for sure. The question is Joe, is there an EV out there that you would actually want to own even as a long termer for a few months? Appreciate the EV content on the channel
Went into a BMW dealer last week to upgrade my wifes' car. Asked whether petrol cars are holding their prices more strongly as supply decreases, and the dealer confirmed it's already happening. Also confirmed demand for electric is dropping continuously! Buy petrol ... or maybe hybrid.
I don’t think you understand that it doesn’t matter. People are just buying what they are used to too. No matter what, within 10 years, yo won’t be able to buy a combustion engine car brand new bruh. It’s over bro! All that sales guy is telling you is that you can come buy an ice engine all to be a brick when you try to sell in 5-7 years!
I was actually dumb enough to own one of these cars just last year. Paid $153,000 CDN for it and sold it 15 months later for $87,000 CDN. Now that you have the benefit of reading comments like mine and others here, if you buy one you can discuss it with the psychiatrist next time you're on his couch. 🤪

It constantly gets loads of long stares and appreciative comments in its Daytona pearl Grey and Black Pack. As to depreciation, anyone seen 8 series Beemers lately or other high end Ice cars. I think it will stabilize over time. I'm keeping mine we love it.
My colleague from medical residency who had an S5 upgraded to GT while I also stayed loyal except with BMW with an i4. I'm wondering if she regrets it.
Ive had the pleasure of driving an I4 M50, 550 bhp all electric, obviously nothing compared to this audi.. but i just wanted to express my opinion on my experience with the BMW, the reason why electric does not work for fast driving is because they have no character. The reason why a car like a V12 bentley is a luxury sports car is because it has more complicated technology and an unbelievable engine which has taken years to develop on the way it sounds, acts, changes gear etc... but with an all electric battery car is that they're all the same, after a couple of launches in the BMW i4, i felt nothing for the car or experience after
The Carbon is too much for me too, the exterior updates have made a very very good looking car just the bit nicer. The wheels are exquisite and the revised front looks suitably aggressive. Now drop the rear seat and expand the boot size, move the B pillar back some and drop the rear doors and finally drop the V8 from the Porsche Cayenne GT in the front and it’d sell like freakin’ hotcakes
This won’t deprecate like the last one as it now does the numbers. Latest Taycan just did over 370 miles on motorway on Carwow…my M3 touring will only do 340 miles on a tank. And even less on short trips.

Looked at the current model in a dealership yesterday. Ridiculous size and poor space inside and in the boot ! Why the long bonnet on this car as there is no longer an engine?
I get that they're a premium brand and need a flagship model but how about focusing a bit more on cars that normal people can really afford if they want to make a profit, why the need to make three of these while they still haven't made a small ev car
Color is beautiful, pricing is delusional, and depreciation is going to be astronomical.
I had a beautiful A7 a few years ago and had the same issue with the B pillar. Such small doors for a huge car. It Crippled my back bending into it.
