For those curious why this would need to be a thing.. P90s are extremely small and compact. They put the magazine INSIDE the gun so that it reaches maximum compactibility AND holds a lot of bullets It's pretty cool
Jukka Muhonen nope. If you want recoil reduction you use a Bullpup design. There are also other compact guns. My personal favorite is the Kriss Vector I believe. *misspelled it : (
I would expect a design such as the p90, with the unique mechanism that feeds each bullet into the receiver, at such a rapped rate, to jam a lot. it amazes me how efficient it is, props to whoever thought of it
Funny you should mention that... I just watched O'Neill talking up his P90 to the Russians - who prefer Zastava M85s - in S05E08 and I thought I'd pause to get more details about the gun. I knew it was a cool gun - but I didn't realize the bullets did that unique rotation...
Not the p90 but when the first halo game was being made they had to come up with a bunch of sci fi guns that still look like guns. Very shortly after they finalized the classic assault rifle design, FN came out with the FN 2000, which in appearance was pretty close to the final design in the game (without the ammo counter.)
I love how the you could also easily check how much ammo you have left. a transparent magazine placed right on top of the gun. no need for that fancy powered ammo counter from the Aliens movie. everything about is genius
This had to be the oddest looking action I've ever seen. I always wondered about how they damn thing worked while watching SG1 but never thought of looking it up lol Amazing work of genius!!
I checked the comment section again. There really is a similar comment a year older than mine lmao. Apparently, you have to read through every comment to make sure that what you want to say is 100% original. Also, YT gave me 0 notification from replies until now.
Small compact, fires a sub-rifle caliber 5.7x28mm which is big enough to (imo) be a small rifle caliber high rate of fire, 50+ internal mag clips, couldn't ask for a better PDW though it's not the only one, I'd still take this anyday.
It's an ingenious design. Curious what the jamming rate is. You'd think it'd be high based in the loading design. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was really low.
Essentially never. The only issue I've ever had with mine was because the first round had slipped forward, so smacking the mag into place was enough to pull the bullet out of the cartridge and send powder everywhere. But in normal operation the rollers and feed ramp are so well designed that it's basically foolproof
Cool video, in some videos i've seen, loading P90 like that with a modern mag is just ingenious, perfect weapon.. Mind that I’m from a country, where such guns are illegal, or hard to come by.
-Bullpup -High Velocity Rounds (High Power, Low Recoil) -High Rate of Fire -High Range -Compact -High Capacity Magazine -Unique Look What do you want more? OK, it doesn´t look so great in my Opinion and it is relatively heavy but still my new favourite Gun!
So this program here is pretty sweet. Is it only for guns? And does it allow for design as well as just being a visual aid? Because I can see some possibilities for a crowd sourced weapon contest for manufacturers.
Ohhh so the bullets DO NOT rotate 90' in one go Yeah rotating it in several phases so that it only needs to turn 45' prior to being loaded in the chamber makes sense rather than spinning all the way 90 a split second before being rammed in.
Whoever designed this gun is a genius.
The g11 is also a really cool design
i agree...
First Ladt
belgian engineering lol
yeah.. its really good.. like uf you're rushing some building or smh.. its small enough to fit in and has some serious punch to it
For those curious why this would need to be a thing..
P90s are extremely small and compact. They put the magazine INSIDE the gun so that it reaches maximum compactibility AND holds a lot of bullets
It's pretty cool
And it's praised for being fully ambidextrous.
I think this magazine system might reduce recoil too, because bullets and magazine spring moves same direction as pipe and not upwards.
trickster259067 perfect grammar and you said that so nicely
Jukka Muhonen nope. If you want recoil reduction you use a Bullpup design. There are also other compact guns. My personal favorite is the Kriss Vector I believe. *misspelled it : (
pws3rd 1 The P90 has designed in Bullpup
It's amazing how they made an efficient system of something that looks so easily jammable
Right, that’s wats makin me confused asf
Is it known as a reliable gun like a glock??
@@englishfam9675 yea fam
Was thinking the same thing. How does this thing not jam?
@@englishfam9675 The GLOCK?
The Glock is not known as reliable, it is known to explode and jam and be carried by gangs with illegal auto switches.
I can die in peace.
lol same here
+D00DAL3X I can die happy
ditto
That's what this music sounds like
same
Thank you I always wondered how exactly the magazine worked.
Me too.
Same here. I always figured the round part that feeds the rounds into the firing chamber was spinning, but I guess that’s not the case at all.

This gun was featured on the series Stargate for several years after it was put on the market. An amazing weapon

@@adraedin I did the exact same thing just now, wondering how the back of the shells were visible when loaded in the magazine in that show.

Very shortly after they finalized the classic assault rifle design, FN came out with the FN 2000, which in appearance was pretty close to the final design in the game (without the ammo counter.)
I’ve always been impressed by the way the round cycled in from sideways to down range.
Thank you!
I always wondered how bullets were fed in a P90 mag.
This perfectly illustrates it! Easy upvote.
It would appear to have a very high reliability due to the ramping - nothing to catch, jam or snag.
@@ohasis8331 I love it when you talk reliability to me.
The thumbnail: “Unable to fire: Gun is jammed”
It all ways gave me a head ache on how the p90 mag system works but now seeing it I can rest without headaches
A beautiful weapon, I always had a special spot for the fnp90
It's always nice seeing these slowed way down since these guns function a lot faster than this so we can't see just how much goes on.
I love how the you could also easily check how much ammo you have left. a transparent magazine placed right on top of the gun. no need for that fancy powered ammo counter from the Aliens movie.

Great atmosphere. Nice music, scenic background. Oh yea cool demo too

the music my enemies *FEEL* when they get 1-shot by this weapon.
A very accurate representation, good job man!!!
Design of this gun was master piece🙌🙌🙌
Yeah super
that is actually interesting, I did not kno they worked like that. we need more videos like this
Amazing art of engineering
Cool mechanical videos, but...Windows Not Genuine...a lil bit LOL...
Thank you this is a wonderful visual of how it works.
Dam, this is one of the most interesting guns, even though if it's weak it's still really interesting, because of its designs and the mechanism
@@xstnxyunggunz8615 for some reason my interest went straight to guns
I always wondered how they can rotate the bullets before they get to the barrel. Now I know. Thank you
Gun is crazy engineering, music makes you think of the existential harm. Conflicting yet educational.
where has this video been all my life
Made my day when they replaced the MP5 with the P90 in Stargate SG1
the big question has been solved
I needed this so much! I can now start making my P90 Animations
This gun hold most bullets than other smgs that's brilliant design.

Thank you now I can live peacefully without having to think how P90 works
Great video. I never knew it had a rotating follower like that. Very cool!
The fact that it does this at 900 RPM is insane
Well it fires between 850rpm to 1100rpm but i think 90prpm is the most common
Such an awesome weapon! Great flick!
That's a pretty freakin' amazing animation!
I've always wondered how these guns work thank you
"but sir, with this design, I'm afraid we have no choice but putting the bullets horizontal"
"Then horizontal bullets there will be!"
Not only is this bizarre and effective as all get out, it literally feeds 90 of those rounds in under ten seconds
@Clasic Man my bad
Had an at with this set up.. Worked flawlessly.. It was awesome.. Kicking myself in the butt now cause I sold it.
Yeah finally, I’m asking like why the magazine of the gun is side way but still keep accuracy and high speed firing
The music makes me think that the p90 was made by aliens
I always thought you could essentially “curl” this type of magazine up into a snail shell shape and make a drum.
This gun has a really big magazine man!!
that's some top notch designing bro!
cheers!

The game's called world of guns
This is from the game "World of Guns: Gun Disassembly"
After years of watching Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and playing COD and Battlefield. Now I get it
If you want to know how to get the app, it is called world of guns.
So I think it’s obvious the halo smg, might have had some influence on this gun. The mag for the halo smg is on the left side of the gun. Very cool
FN actually thought about left handed armed forces. most left handed shooters get a round shell thrown into their face
Fabulous demonstration 😊. Thanks. It helps me to understand better

Question.....would the ammo jam up at the rotating mechanism during heavy use?
