With Book by Evynne Hollens and Seattle playwright Rebecca Tourino Collinsworth and Music & Lyrics by the brilliantly talented Anna Gilbert and Gaby Moreno. Inspired by miraculous true events, Mija is a deeply personal story about motherhood, survival, love, loss and the complexity of family.

This resonated so deeply with me! The part when she’s singing about choosing her child (that’s what I assume it was) I was imagining that she was singing to herself. Choosing herself, the life she wants, her goals, her hopes and dreams over people’s opinions. I guess it just reminded me how important it is to be your own best friend. Thank you for this wonderful piece of music!
