If you have two AMRs, you probably won't need a shotgun.

If you just want to get weapons, then Stage 5-3 is the way to go.
Open four boxes first, and if there's nothing good, retire.
If you find something good, defeat the enemy.
However, this will make it difficult to synthesize items, and even if you get a good weapon, you'll probably have trouble equipping it.
If you want to do both, I think it's best to go through Stage 8-6 repeatedly.
