Finding Balance and Following My Heart + Personal Update|Living Slowly as a Sensitive Person
The past two weeks, Ive spent at my family home, so grateful to be abe to be out in wild nature and connect with my loved ones. It had given me lots of time to think and remind myself of what is important to me and what I really want to do more of this year. It has been a very reflective time for me and I just wanted to share some of my thoughts and recent feelings on the time ahead. I will be sitting down for a bit of a rambly chat (this video is a bit of a long one! There was lots I wanted to share.)
Ive also been busy crafting recipes with some of my most favourite springtime herbs and in this video I will share with you: the making wild garlic butter, wild garlic oil and a nettle and potato soup.
    I really hope you enjoy.
    All my love,
    Lika xx
💛 Thank you to you all for your beautiful support of my channel so far, and please do consider subscribing for weekly slow living videos, it means the world.
    ~Recipe for Nettle Soup:
    -1tbsp olive oil
    -1 onion, chopped
    -3 cloves garlic
    -2 medium white potatoes, chopped
    -1L vegetable stock
-2 cups of fresh nettle leaves
-100ml vegan single cream (or non vegan if you prefer, or non....but this adds a bit of lovely creaminess to the soup)
    -Salt and pepper to taste
-Put the oil in a pan and lightly cook the onion and garlic until golden.
-Add in the stock and potatoes and cook until they are soft.
-Add in the fresh nettles and the cream and cook for a further 5 mins or so.
The soup is now ready, but you can blitz it in a blender, which is what I do to make it creamy and nice!
    Enjoy!
    ~For Garlic Butter:
I simply used a softened block of butter (I use vegan/non dairy butter) and cut up a good handful of wild garlic and mixed it up with the butter. I then keep it in the freezer until I want to add some to my cooking, it adds an amzing taste to almost any dish!
    ~For garlic oil:
I used twice the amount of olive oil in volume to the wild garlic in grams. I then blitzed them together in a blender and after, strained the oil through a cheesecloth. This oil is wonderful on salads, with bread dipped into it or anyhwere else really!
    Enjoy!

Thank you for the time you take to make these videos and to share a part of your life and passion with us. You inspire me a lot to move to a more deeper and meaningful life. I feel misunderstood by people about my high sensitivity of life and the beauty I see and appreciate around me. It is so nice to hear that you will continue to invest more time to what matter to you. Which give me the opportunity also to do it in my own life. Thank you again for your beautiful sharing and videos.

Many congratulations on reaching 10.5k subscribers Lika! I’ve had a short break from UA-cam recently (we’re moving house next week!), but will really enjoy catching up with your videos over the next few weeks - your lovely calming content will be a great de-stressor after this busy time. Also, well done for taking an extra day for yourself, you deserve it! Take care & much love to you 😊🌻

I found your channel just a few months ago, and I have to tell you that you have been such an inspiration. I’ve always tried to live more slowly, and tend I to shy away from the hustle. I homeschool my two sons (12 and 14). We have been foraging, making syrup, teas, and we even took a crack at that lovely nettle cake. Thank you for putting yourself out there for all of us. Taking another day for yourself during the week is the absolute right move. I’m so happy for you!

Lovely videos. I now realise what my "problem" is - highly sensitive! In our 21st century it's so much about being an extrovert and I've found myself withdrawing into my own company and Nature more and more. As I watched a second video it occurred to me that you may be involved with ballet .... and yes a few sentences later you said you're a ballet teacher. Ballet is a great love of mine which I've managed to do on and off through my life. Thank you for your lovely videos which I'm sure are helping many people to understand themselves!

Well done on reaching so many subscribers, well deserved! It was nice to see you using dandelions as these plants can be used in so many delicious recipes- dandelion buds pickled in cider vinegar and dandelion fritters are my favourite. Enjoy your extra and well deserved day off.

I just recently found your channel. I really enjoy how calming and relaxing each one is. I was shocked when you said you work 6 days a week plus your YT channel and everything else in your life. I would never be able to tell by how relaxed you are in the videos. I think one of the things that comes through all of your videos is that self-care is so important. I would expect your channel to continue to grow as nature does and even faster than you might imagine.

I managed to get out for a delightful walk on Saturday (the sunniest day of the bank holiday weekend) - needing grounding 🙂and gathered a bunch of ransoms (wild garlic) I quick fried it with some butter and had it on toast, was delicious! Wonderful video as always, thank you.

Out side of a Nettle patch , theres are usually plants with large leaves called Dock plants . Pick the leave and place it on the singing part of the skin . Immediate relief

We are using olive oil on a daily basis, and each brand and each origin has its own distinguished taste, spiciness and so on… on general they usually being given inside a dark green-yellowish colored bottle to prevent deoxidation, which i found out being felt, so .. just a tip for you and for the people who are being inspired by you. 9:43

Three years ago I made this video about the importance of spending time in nature and in the woods:
    ua-cam.com/video/67ir8N_lDEI/v-deo.html
I think you have come to the same conclusion. In a way, I am glad that not everyone goes to the woods - otherwise there would be no possibility to find anywhere to be alone. I also live in North Wales. Thankfully I've found an area of woodland which is a little hard to get to, and hence nobody goes there - so I can have the whole place to myself.
