  • In this video I show the preparation that needs to be done in order to cure and fix peeling paint in a bathroom.
With materials like Zinsser Peel Stop and Plaster Primer like Optiva Primer for ceilings and walls make prep work alot easier to achieve the final result and to prevent it coming back.

aaaaaahhhhhh maaaate ive been struggling with this for ages. i do rental repaints so i see this all the time. ive have some success with using SBR bond but its not really designed for this, also it seals the wall so it increases drying times. am gonna give this peel stop a try thanks. i found your channel when i was looking for tikkurila products so i will sub the channel and keep watching. many thanks for your time Daniel!

Scrape it all off, don’t be lazy, then pva the walls and size them whilst the pva is still tacky, then use lining paper for the PERFECT finish, finally paint over the lining paper with Dulux Quick Drying Eggshell, 3 coats at least. That’s what I do and still looks good in 15/20 years. Easy to clean, I wouldn’t use anything else ever, tried them all, they are all rubbish except for Dulux Quick Drying Eggshell.

Hi David, if peel stop was rollered on before any peeling took place would that still want to peel after? So could peel stop act as a prevention rather than wait till it starts peeling then cover?

    So it’s pva

Love peelstop, bathrooms are always the culprits. Skipping mist coats should be a crime. Great video 👍

Have you ever used this product to paint over distemper? I need to repaint my bathroom but the previous owners used Farrow and Ball "casein distemper" which apparently can't be painted over directly with emulsion!

Great video thanks! Just to confirm, you do a mist coat on top of the Peel Stop and not before?
