Desert Tales marks the following:
1) The fifteenth journey-based expedition event of Homescapes, after Wood Estate Mystery, Halloween Nightmare, Winter Adventure, Mysteries of Atlantis, Lost Island, Mysterious Festival, Tortuga Island, Butler’s Peak, Austin, Magic, and Dragons, Secrets of Area 551, Ice Age, Chocolate Factory, Rescue Chloe and Innesport Mystery.
2) The first Homescapes event appearance of Rachel, after her appearances in selected areas of the Mountain Estate and Island Hotel from the said game as well as most expeditions and a couple of location makeovers in Gardenscapes.
3) The direct sequel to Austin, Magic, and Dragons, as Sarzul breaks himself from his own spell and continues his villainous schemes from the August 2023 update. This also applies to Merly, who continues her role in helping the protagonist from the said past update.
4) The first journey-based expedition event to have Austin as a supporting character, which it was previously seen in the Movie Set chapter of the Island Hotel that primarily focused on Adam, thus breaking the tradition of having him as a lead character in every edition since its inception in August 2022.
