I heard this song for the first time in my life in a motorcycle advertisment...Loved it so much...as though I heard it a million times before...love from India..
Love this tune! Fantastic Roy Orbison-like vocals, the arrangements are gorgeous, the strings, the mandolin, the backing vocals... All works perfectly. A classic
He was a member of the Britpop band Longpigs, where he was the writer, but not the singer. When they disbanded he did some work on Pulp's final album "We Love Life" before launching his solo career. I think "We Love Life" was very underrated, and after Britpop had already died.
You need to listen to Heart of Oak, we have been to see Richard about 10 times, he’s a really funny guy as well, our first dance out our wedding was a Richard Hawley song.
I'd love to hear you and your dad do a vid reaction to the Moody Blues album Days of Future Past. Also, King Crimson's song Court of the Crimson King. I think you'd find the music interesting!
Trey, cool facts about the song that you shared. I really like the intro and the ending. The melody is really strong. The string arrangement has atmosphere and gives the song a big time sound. You are right Trey about the solid production and instrumentation, and the lyrics are nice. Good vocals. All around a very good song. I agree with your comments and analysis of the song, and I also agree with your rating of 8.0. My rating would be a 7.75. I enjoyed your review.
Now when we're comkng up on the holidays I'd like to see you react to Eric Clapton performing White Christmas. Here's a link to the official video ua-cam.com/video/vmw9vHZCbMo/v-deo.html

Richard is an unsung national treasure. His latest album has just come out. Lots of amazing ballads on there. Prism in Jeans is really great.

A beautiful song. Very much in the style of classic 1960s pop, which I love.
It is great. Thanks for watching!
