I despise flys with a passion and felt something snap in me when I heard the buzzing sound in the video. But despite my hatred towards them it’s good to learn facts about them, great video 👍
@@AnimalFactFiles Yeah you made a great video, very informative and entertaining, and I have no problem with the background sounds, it’s just my personal rivalry with the flies in my area
I like how flies are so fast. And the way they rub their paws when looking at your food. Then they do the little neck twitch like they have a mental tick. They are like little ninjas. And if you can smack them, then you can call yourself a ninja cuz you must have cat-like reflexes to even get them. I mean I hate flies too, but they are a formidable foe and I kinda envy those skills. Flies and dragonflies are the best fliers out there, at least for bugs. Peregrin falcons and owls for speed and stealth respectively and then there's that hawk/falcon then can sharply turn and navigate forests to capture their prey. So yeah, I definitely have a love-hate feelings towards bugs.
I like most insects a lot, but I really dislike flies. I find them very annoying, but you've set my thinking straight on their usefulness in the environment. I figured they had some use (everything does), but I didn't know what the use was. And since they ranked really high on the annoyance scale, I never took the time to find out. Thanks for the information!
a fly doesnt have to be directly near my face for me to hear it :/ I can even hear the sounds of a mosquito buzzing about if it's quiet enough and they dont have to be right next to my face
I know that flies can be dangerous vectors of disease, but are also an Important Part of the Food Chain. As you pointed out, they preform Beneficial Services, like Breaking Down Garbage,(a huge environmental problem!) and some species are even pollinators. I prefer use Natural Pest Controls: Good Fitting Screens and allowing the beautiful, Black and White Jumping Spider,(Which isn't poisonous and very rarely bites.) to live in my house, between the glass paynes and the screens where the flys congregate. Also, I kept a little, terracotta clay pot, with part of the rim broken out, for a large Toad to live on my patio to eat the flys. I also encourage the beautiful Native Anole Lizard with potted plants, to live on my patio. I like to keep an Eco-friendly house.
Have you seen the beetle. Its pretty much an amored tank. And dragon flies are just like Helicopters but so much more agile. Bumblebees are like bomber class planes. Humongous yet strangely able to fly. Hornets are like fighter jets. (F-18, ffs 🤣) fast and armed with weapons that hurt Bagworm literally cover themselves us with random stuff just like a voltron/power ranger fighter assembly themselves for their mecha.
Yeesh I just *hate* maggots. It's amazing how, despite being the same organism p much, caterpillars are super adorbs whereas maggots make me wanna grab a can of Raid and a hand gun. Yeesh. On the opposite note, I always feel bad when I kill a mosquito, and will only do so if it's in my room at night- otherwise, I'll just rely on trying not to get bit.
I'm actually the same way with mosquitos! Of course, I feel bad killing anything without cause. I bet the maggot thing is due to some kind in instinctual something. They're pretty creepy crawly. Hopefully the vid didn't wig you out too much!
Something I’ve always wondered about fruit flies, is their larvae always on the surface of fruits and veggies? It’s almost as if they appear spontaneously (?) once fruits and veggies run rancid.
People uses to think that fruit flys were born from rotting fruit , that's how spontaneous they appear on fruits lol your not alone in your thoughts lol
Mydas flies are the largest flies, seven centimeters in length, and they are harmless, strictly feeding on nectar. It is rare to see one, as they live rather short lives.
Black horse flies are impressive with how big they grow but they are kill on sight. Bee mimics are cool, but house flies suck because my grandma lets them in then can’t swat them.
When I see a fly I think carrion bug. They are like vultures but for the insect kingdom (order, phylum, class?). They eat dead, decaying stuff. Its a messy job but someones gotta do it.
@@McConagher Oh I see what's going on here! In most anatomical studies of beetles I've looked at, the elytra are defined as a pair of "hard wings" (sometimes referred to as the "forewings"). It seems like you're saying that you don't count the elytra as "wings" which is where this discrepancy is coming from. I can see your point of view, since the elytra aren't like the typical flight wings in beetles. I choose to go by general scientific naming for these, however, hence my defining them as wings. Hopefully that clears that up!
@@McConagher All good! I'm just glad you mentioned the elytra because I didn't even consider it and I felt bad there was a misunderstanding! Hope you have a good day

broooo I believed you but you have the whole wrong timestamp and I literally didnt know what you meant until i got scared too 😭

I'm wearing headphones and the fly sounds hand me thinking there was a fly in my house
Oh yeah. We've fixed this in newer videos. Thanks for watching though!
I was a fly for Halloween! I loved it!

I'd smash flies between my hand if it wasn't that size.
Flies in South Africa in Phalaborwa.

House fly have two big wings and smaller wings in the inside ( house flys. )And if you take out the small inside wings they can't fly.. thanks
I have a phobia of flies
Same, trying exposure therapy but it's scary lmao
Thanks for using the suggestion.
It's 4am i've woken up & hear then see a fly in my room. I had to get the raid can. Now i feel slightly guilty so thanks for the video
Their relationship with maggots will not save them if they get within arms reach of me and a rolled up newspaper

I had to learn about them so I can hate them a little less so thank you 🤣❤️
They are amazing little animals but if they land on my food that section gets thrown away.
I feel like I wanna end the flies life when I see or I get annoyed
As much as im interested in animals this is really a perfect video ❤️❤️
Thanks for the information guys!😁
I hate flies even when I’m eating so annoying
How can they fly for so long with so little energy? I watched a house fly for an hour straight. Never rested. How?
how does 2 blue bottles sound different when buzzing if its just the wings?
What was the fly at 4:04? The one with the yellow and black striped eyes
Brundlefly was the biggest.
