I got approved to work due to some kind of glitch where my onboarding session was marked as completed. If not for you making this id be lost! Thanks, you're a lifesaver.
Dude-thanks so much for this. Just now subscribed. I'm a new at this; 1st delivery app. Still waiting to receive my stuff from GH so, haven't started yet. I'm kinda nervous cause I don't want to mess up. Gonna watch this over & over and even write down the steps so I can be more prepared. Never knew all the stuff you have to do just to deliver. Hopefully it'll become easier when I do it more. Just hope it works out cause I really need the $$. Thanks again!
I liked how it was no non sense video and informative. Thank you! So, you cant see how far the delivery to the customer is. I live in Saint Louis, and there are areas I just wont go in 🤔
Man you GrubHubbers are picky I’ve noticed this on every video. It’s nice. UberEats is trash. Some days I’m making $3-$7 an hour at slow points. My best day of all time was $130 and that was 11 hours of driving. Hardly anyone tips on UberEats. I finally left and started Postmates and more people tip. But I finally got on with GrubHub and I’m excited to get in on this better system
So how do u keep yourself from getting order after order when on a delivery??? My first day I kept hearing the bell but was already stressing about my current delivery
How do you tell the total mileage of the trip before you accept it? As I just started and did one run but it only told me the mileage to the restaurant and not to the customer who is very very far away
I have the same question. DoorDash shows you the miles before you accept. I can’t figure it out on GrubHub while I am driving and don’t know the areas that I’m driving in.
Yeah Iv been doing it for a while since I made that comment and as far as I could figure out Grubhub doesn't pay you or show you the mileage to the restaurant and only pays you from the restaurant to the costumer which is not for me as I'll stick with doordash who are much more transparent and pay better I think.
“There’s a reason they don’t make $15 an hour.” The video was helpful, but this was an rude, unnecessary potshot at food workers. Like GrubHub drivers are all in Mensa?
And I don't understand out of all the comments no one seems to think what he said was disrespectful to anyone working in the food industry.... For anyone working in the food industry and listened to this video trying to make a side hustle because you didn't get paid enough working fast food I apologize to you sincerely from the bottom of my heart..
Yes you can if those are available in your area. Just remember to change it if you decide use a bike or scooter so they don't send you far or multiples.
Thank for sharing..i just sign up with grubhub but i don't know where to do my onboarding section....they said i should go to delivery partners @grub hub but how do i access the site?
I know nothing about GrubHub. This video gives me the impression that the delivery driver never leaves their car for deliveries. Meaning, the customer knows they need to meet the driver at the curb? Am I misinterpreting this?
This happened to me when I first applied. My background check cleared but the company that provides them for GH never send them a confirmation. I would recommend contacting GrubHub directly. If you get the run around join your local GH Facebook group and ask for the e-mail of the driver specialist.
If you are not on a block, are you still beholden to a certain area? Just wondering because to find out if you can run the grub hub app as you are doing ride share and with that there is no telling where you will be.
If you're not on a block you're not restricted to a specific area beyond your region boundary. The region boundary is the whole area, usually composed of a few towns where GrubHub drivers can accept orders. Signing on without a block just means you won't get orders through first priority; you'll get them if there are too many and not enough drivers.
@@AntennaMan Thank you very much, sir that was a huge help for it also answered my next you questions lol. I live in Kansas City Missouri which often times I am in Kansas as well as a wry share driver, with several cities closely knitted throughout the area. I applied for grub hub last night
At 4:10 you talk about seeing an vicinity of where the customer is, but the only thing I see on the video is an icon showing where the restaurant is. It's the same on my phone. Would love to know where the customer is before accepting.
You said it's better to double check the order (ofcourse) than to have to go back and pick up those items?? Just wanted to know if I heard you right. If so, people do that? I would tell them to contact gh so they can send out another car, that will be compensated for it.
Is GH better to drive for than Door Dash in your opinion? I drove for DD the past month and a half and I might be dropping it. They have this rating system that makes some drivers feel like they're being watched or micromanaged, My ratings are good but I don't like the feeling that I need to be on watch all the time to see if my rating drops or goes up after every delivery block.
Let's see if we can clearify Ray's question, are there any rating restrictions with Grub Hub, as far as On time rating, customer rating..considering many resturants keep drivers waiting which reflects on the On Time Arrival Rating, and can reflect on Customer Rating...
ROB VILLANO , I’ve been doing DD more recently and I noticed that since they updated their app, I don’t have the freezing up issues I did before. That was a stresser as well since I couldn’t accept or confirm a pickup or delivery. As far as the rating, I ignore it and move on. I used to text support to let them know I was waiting for the food but I don’t even do that anymore. Most of my times have been late but they have me currently at 89% “on time”.Maybe they’re finally getting it!
thanks for the video. I'm considering this. So do you get to pick your own shifts? I mean I work a full-time job and I'm trying to add the same as a side gig. And how long is a shift? What's the best hours to do this?
How on earth can someone be hired by Grubhub? I applied months ago and have heard nothing. They encourage you to email them with any concerns/questions. I've emailed them several times and heard nothing. Checked the spam folder and nothing. Called them several times, spoke to nice people, they apologized that I never heard back, but that's all they could say. I've met several people who live near me that drive for Grubhub and they love it. It seems impossible to get in touch with someone who can help or to get a solid answer as to why they haven't gotten back to me. Why do they make it so unnecessarily difficult? Feels like they are ignoring me.
Hi I have a ? Once u get a order is there anyway that u can see the customers address before accepting it? Just to make sure u not going a far distance.
I just completed my on boarding session and got email that kit is on the way. However nowhere in the process or in this video as well have I been told what app to download for the Grubhub driver to use.
Excellent information thanks. could you talk about how you are classified for tax purposes . . . like Self Employed or Independent Contractor? and what about all the Mileage you put on your vehicle? .. I heard you might be able to deduct a certain amount from your taxes Per Mile driven while you are "om the job". But I dont know about this. TIA.
Yes we are independent contractors. When we file we have the option to deduct the miles we drive on GH from our taxable income around 54 cents each mile.
I need u to tell me where on the gh devise is the mileage before u take the order to the restaurant and to the house I got stuck driving 20 miles one night and gh had the nerve to call me and say do u have the food yet I think they knew they screwed me over and wanted to know that I am still doing that
It doesn't show you the distance before accepting the order but it shows it on a map and if you know the area you can get an idea on how far you are going.
Antenna Man yeah I seen they wanted me to go 34 miles for 15 dollars , decline then the sent it again ,decline , then they sent me another one 34 miles for 20 dollars , decline .it seems they don’t wa not u to make any money , I don’t do evan Stevan runs either. It’s like blackjack if u have the same number as the house no one wins , but gh charging prices to the restaurants for there service they win .as of now it seems in the afternoon they are not busy unsure why in the lunchtime .it does pickup in the evening
I just started but how do you know how many miles the order/restaurant customer is from you? do you have to accept first before finding that out because the initial map at 4:06 isn't interactive at all (i.e letting you zoom in and see if it's a house/workplace/whatever as if it was the regular google map so you know how where exactly the locations are instead of the "general area" and pins GH shows before accepting) like Doordash's.
If i sign up with a different car and insurance, could I use another car? The only car i have a valid insurance on is a garage queen classic jdm sports car. I don't want to use that
It doesn't show the amount I will get paid on my accept offer screen. Has this been changed recently, or is it just how it's displayed on my phone? Thank you. Love your videos!
Kelly Gronewold that's odd yes it still shows the amount I'm paid right before I accept the order. I know in the past when this happened it was a glitch in the app that gets fixed with the next update.
Before you accept the order it will show the total payout. If it is under $4 that usually means the customer did not tip. You can find out the tip amount by going to the order details after the order is accepted.
Did he really say there's a reason they don't get paid $15 an hour cause they are usually forgetful! No, how about their forgetful because you don't pay them enough to remember everything that you want!! As if these people aren't working 8 hours a day like anyone else who goes to work...
Email ur driver specialist, they can help. Mine switched me over when I reported to them I moved but it’s also subject to availability in the market ur trying to go to

Thank you very much. I start this evening and this really helped me;)
Hello laura how is it so far? I'm just waiting for my card then I can begin.
Excellent job, so well detailed your a pro. Thanks
Good video. However, one important part is missing, customer age verification for alcohol deliveries.

On the driver app can switch your vehicle at any given time from bike, scooter, and car
Yes you can if those are available in your area. Just remember to change it if you decide use a bike or scooter so they don't send you far or multiples.
they don't have the option of a motorcycle?
Is there any penalty for only doing a couple deliveries off block 5 days a week?
Nope none. Ur free to drop food whenever u feel like it. We’re contractors not employees
Nice basic intro. Thanks!

I noticed this videos over a year old but I have a quick question as I was thinking of doing GrubHub do you still have to have a schedule to work?
You have to pick up blocks but can drop them at any point. In my market there are always blocks available.

No idea why it takes so long but took me almost a year and resigning up with a different email to get a response
They only take on so many drivers at a time I was on there waiting list for 4 months before I got hired on

A Coul it never gives you distance but you can kinda of eyeball it based on the maps you're used to.
Can I change my default GPS. It never asked me and just goes to Google Maps. I prefer Waze. Thx.
You should be able to. Uninstall Waze then reinstall and it. The next time you're on GrubHub it should ask which app you prefer.

Well this comment might be late but it’s called Grubhub For Drivers. In my area it took them I think 3-4 weeks before they accepted me because they weren’t looking for drivers right when I signed up.
Jasonomnia oh lucky I waited 6 months on a list to drive. Yea u create a GH drivers account when u finish signing up
But if your not on a block you will not get paid which I didn't
If you're not on a block you won't get floor pay but you'll still be paid for the orders you accept. For example if you work an hour off block and get no orders you don't get that $10 guarantee, but if you receive any orders in that time that money is yours to keep.
This is helpful
