@awfulguitarplucker yes, they used to - between the Channel Tunnel and London's Waterloo station. However, not any more. In southern England they now use HS1 (the new high-speed line) which is powered using overhead wires and London's St Pancras station, which also has overhead wires.

Today some of the 373 Eurostars have been replaced by the new Eurostar trains

They sound weird lol
+dennis trident william powerful engine at each end... plus single axle articulated carriages. yes they do sound different.
That's a beautiful sound and when they are at 300km/h they sound like a F1 racer.
