The pressure just cracked him. Completely overwhelming, in his absolute prime. It was a pleasure to watch.
The only way Tank Davis loses at lightweight is if he fights another guy that punches like a middleweight. Martin was boxing okay but he was visibly scared. He was jumping at every faint and it was only a matter of time before Davis caught him. It wasn’t as competitive as it looked. Paulie mentioned that Martin was panicked and that’s exactly what I saw. You could see what Davis was doing, he was setting him up to get him against the ropes and unload.
So it’s cool that Benavidez fought a guy 10 years older though, but Loma too old for Tank now😂😂😂

Bivol is a tough fight for benavidez because he's technically good doesn't get hit much or had wars and he's got great footwork. Benavidez needs a few fights at 175 before he takes on the big boys .

@jasonvaldivia804 I'm going to agree, with a caveat. I think David learned a lot last night. He mentioned it at the press conference about these guys up at 175 can take a punch. If he goes like last night, he may lose. If he continues to grow like with the head movement he showed, more movement, and realize that he won't be able to walk through them like at 168, I say he beats both.
I agree. Benavidez is average at light heavyweight. He will be a top 5 fighter at light heavyweight. He isn't becoming number #1.

Benavides definitely needs to put on a bit more muscle to hang with the big boys at 175. The shots definitely weren’t affecting Gvozdyk as much as they should have, or maybe Benavides power didn’t translate because he had 2 injured hands. He later revealed that information after the fight. So with that being said we cannot make an accurate assessment of Benavides at 175. He needs another fight at 175 before he takes on Bivol or Beterbiev

The only danger for shakur is that gervonta’s counters are explosive and snappy, very hard to anticipate, he really have to be out of gervontas reach 100% of every second in the fight while punching .
That's definitely not the only danger. Shakur has no power whilst Tank has one of the strongest chins we've ever seen. THAT'S the main "danger".

Loma is not old at 36. Floyd was not old at 38 when he beat the younger Pac Man. Loma still one of the best in the business folks top 3 in his weight class. Lama will still dish out the business and you could see it in all of his last fights.

I have to disagree with Paulie, the Paro win was no shock. I won some decent money on that fight and anyone who had been following both fighters would have known that Paro was a serious threat.
Gvozdyk has lost his biggest assets - his legs and his speed. He was a stationary target, he tapped away but he didn't seem to have any snap in his movement. He basically fought like an ageing fighter, conserving energy and blocking. Benavidez won rounds by being the younger, sharper, more active guy but he couldn't put a dent in Gvozdyk despite being able to hit him at will. Very unimpressive.
He gets beaten not just by bivol and beterbiev but also by the younger dudes - Buatsi, Yarde, etc.
