Where did these air? They all talk about flying 'to America', but they're in English and two of the three used an announcer with an American accent. I'm confused.
Does anyone remember a United Airlines commercial where the jingle was sung in Hawaiian? I swear I remember singing along, even though I had no idea what I was singing. Probably late 60s.
They need to fly back to New Zealand, its a joke that American tourists either have to go on Hawaiian via Honolulu, Air Pacific via Nadi or Qantas via Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne to avoid the costs Air New Zealand charge. Give Americans more choice especially during our summer season when alot of them want to take tours our cruises from Auckland to Sydney. Even though Hawaiian has meant we welcome back another US carrier.....we need more competition here
They seem to be in redemption mode now. Just today I saw an ad for United announcing a partnership with Special Olympics for their World Games this year. Now whether or not that has anything to do with the year long PR fiasco (Leggings, dragging Dr. Dow, Dog placed in overhead bin and dying due to an employee not knowing the difference between a carry on item and a dog carrier) but then again this goes on every year it seems with them. They have a PR scandal then suddenly, they're in cleanup mode. However the Special Olympics thing I found a little odd (in the same ad they said they supported Special Olympics for many years) since back in 2014 or '15, a teenage girl with Autism and her family were kicked off a United flight after the girl was denied a hot meal (you see, the girl has sensory issues and also can't verbally express what she wants without making noise)
what was proved was that United Airlines is very good at singing
Love the history of United Airlines,I appreciate your service and network!
I remember United's United All the Way, Fly You to the Friendly Skies commercial very well in 1980s HKG.
I miss this United...
Bring back the tulip.
Love United!!!
I do fly United Airlines
“So fly the airline that doesn’t make you change airlines” LOLLLL
0:54 back then they didn't know what was going to happen to the beautiful twin towers 😥 🇺🇸
They did fly to all 50 states in the early 80's.
these were tv commercials shown in Hong Kong
I wondered why I didn't remember any of them.
where is the tv spot with a kid playing with a plane in a cliff
Looking for a United Airlines commercial with football player Mean Joe Greene from 1973 or 1974. Definely before their first Super Bowl.
Obviously not US-Domestic-market commercials.
0:50 dang my city looked pretty different back then lol
I like united Airlines 747
_BruhNolaBar _ sadly it is going to retire in a few weeks now

And Northwest,VARIG,TransBrasil,VIASA,UsAir now all gone 😥
When I began flying in 1970, UA flew to all 50 states. Sorry, I cannot remember all the cities but believed the hype!
2020 and United only flies to 47 states.

I believe they might have aired in Japan on an English-speaking TV network.
I feel I kinda uncomfortable looking at the DC-10

It was for their service to Hawaii, during their "Friendly Skies of Your Land" campaign in the '70s, I think.
Just be careful flying United across the Pacific back in the '80s...your plane might blow a cargo door or something freaky like that.
Must have been shown in Australia!
HEY,,,,,,,,, It`s a BOEING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good memes.

Friendly skies, lol!!!
That was the slogan.
Customers were nicer too. Customers were more respectful.
@upiluften ever why so
Ill bet at least the first ad was targeted to the Hong Kong market.
And they are reducing the U.S. flights now. Tsk tsk.
Also overseas and Canada.
The only good airline from the us I can think about is JetBlue
So vintage
7 years later, your comment now qualifies as vintage!
Fly the Friendly Skies what ???????
9/11 the Day who Never Forget, American Pariot Remember that this was in the 80's not 2016
Old times ❤️
And look! The Asian wasn't beaten to a pulp over a shitty business practice of book a lot, take the money, and run!
Gotta love the corny 80's music and crappy graphics lol.
Welcome to America we're Ua drags people of the plane
These were not very well done commercials. Fly from where to the USA? Poorly written. I give them and F.
+brazil5657 uh they get you to ALL the united states duh
brazil5657 it's not just about the commercial
"it's a pleasure to do business with United'... until you get dragged off the plane.
or until they kill your puppy...by suffocation...

Or they kill the biggest rabbit in the world and not give hotel vouchers to a couple who noticed a Jet Fuel leak and saved hundreds of lives.
