+Yoshihito Shibata hey sir how are you doing, hope you having a good day.
so im kinda wondering what is your traditional school (iwama or aikikai ?).
and what are the exercises that i should focus on in order to get a good kokyu ? :)

Try that on a Tomiki or Shodokan aikido or judo player. They will look at you with a smile when it fails........ That's the trouble with non competitive aikido it's too collusive and falls apart when under real pressure....

Tony Wagstaffe It's not a matter of Ryu or school, it's a matter of physical mechanics, principles or laws of nature, it works with any kind of person. But if you think it doesn't works, why don't you go, and tell the sensei that you are skeptical and challenge him to do it in you? The essential is invissible to the eyes...

¿Excuse me? ¿ Non competitive. aikido? O-Sensei create Aikido for non competitive practice! If Tomiki Aikido do that, is because they don't understand the real spirit of Aikido. Competition= Ego. The goal of Aikido is the absence of ego. Open your mind and learn from others. Mushin, remember that.

Yoshi addresses this at the end, with the analogy about getting updated ipads. Against trained players the 'gears' would need refining also, and possibly paired with other techniques, involving atemi strikes, turning movements, etc.
