Cool! I wish I had this kind of system in the apartment building I used to live in. There, we had SPECTRALERT ADVANCES on CONTINUOUS, and oddly enough, Simplex 9838's on a strobe plate. The pulls were Simplex 4251-20's and EST SIGA 278-B's.
The horns sounds like the ones at my school, But they are set on Continuous and are really really loud and scares the Bejesus outta me when It is activated
I am not asking to buy anything from you as far as fire alarm equipment but I do have to ask are you planning to make mini systems from the 8005 and i8005 respectively? I would hate to see all the hard work you did on assembly and programming that went into making both panels go to waste. Great video as usual.
isnt removing the pull station in the living room & your room counterintuitive to protecting you considering you'd have to go to the basement to pull the alarm if you had to do so?
are you going to sell the 8005? the reason i was asking was for 2 reasons 1: i thinking about starting a fire alarm collection and make system tests and 2: i was just curious.

My parents finally said I could buy a fire alarm control panel and I was thinking on buying a MS-2 but the listing price is $303. Do you know of any control panels that are cheaper and are for beginners?
Hey I got a question about the i8005. I remember in some videos when you said you got parts ordered for the new panel, were those parts from other types of fire alarm panels?
Probably not, considering he built it himself based on a Parallax BASIC Stamp. I think he got components from RadioShack or something (I don't say Digi-Key or Mouser because it was around the time RadioShack was still somewhat popular for getting parts).
Why is the CO alarm only a supervisory? CO in the house is a serious problem. If you can, I'd recommend that you set it so that the horns sound in some other pattern (like temporal 4) if the CO alarm triggers.
I want to upgrade my fire alarm collection and I want to add an annunciator or a controll panel. Do you know where I could buy a simple and cheep one or do you know someone who could build one for me? Also what is a good beginner alarm and pull that I should use.
I know I'm two years late to this but oh well. Panels are expensive and so are annunciators. Annunciators can run anywhere from $75-300, and panels can run anywhere from $100-5,000+ The Fire Lite MS-2 is a great starter panel. I got mine for $405 on eBay. eBay is your friend when it comes to purchasing alarms! A good beginner horn/strobe and pull would be the Edwards Genesis and the Edwards 270-SPO. A Simplex T-bar is a classic, ever common pull you can get as well.
I don't beleive it's the sync module that makes the horns pulse that short it's because of the code 3 switch in the alarm that when the pulse hits the alarm it doesn't have enough time to charge up so it only pulses short
+stampycatfan01 Actually no, these panels do not do that. They are able to tell apart smoke detectors and pull stations and it pulses faster for a pull station.
***** I helped a technician with a 4005 walk test at my school. He activated a zone 2 times, which was a pull station, and the 1st time is beeped the zone in a pulse-like tone, but the second time, it did a march time code for 2 pulses.
My house has an existing burglar alarm system and a fire alarm system which i have all my pull stations and horn strobes and smoke/heat detectors hooked up and wired to the security panel but don't know how to activate fire alarm annunciator mode on my honeywell keypad. is there any button that i have to press down after entering my code to switch between burglar alarm system mode and fire alarm mode. is it one of the number buttons that shift functions or is it my code followed by holding down the fire function (Red) key. the keypad model is a honeywell 6160 had you ever used one before or programed one because i need a manual on all the functions of the keypad
+Joseph Leogrande Sounds like a Vista system. In that case it'd display security and fire zones on the same keypad. It is possible to separate them and make it so you have to switch back and forth but that gets very complicated very fast and isn't entirely feasible for a residential application.

123firealarm With more professional panels, like the Firelite MS-10UD, you can actually program zones to be stuff like that. My 10UD allows me to program zones to an acknowledge button, silence button, reset button, drill button (pretty pointless), tamper switch, supervisory, etc.

I can clearly see a Simplex 4010 behind the i8005.

newageseveralarm now that you have more than 1 non home made panel are you going to make the buyers guide part 4

I didn’t know you needed to pull the alarm to alert yourself in your own home.
The "silence alarm" switch is basically just an FCI MS-6 I'm assuming.
Any modifications to it if so? It's pretty neat though
Well sort of it's like A Ms-6 but without a lock and it's spring loaded
@Tristan Kratz
don't continue to ask NewAgeSever about the panel(I won't scare you but just a warning)
If this were on continuous, all hell might break loose! 😅
But no, I can't even imagine how loud this would be if it were on continuous that is.....
Is that the point?
Even worse the horn on the alarm will go out
There were those same mini horns in my old school. I do not have very fond memories of them.

Just a question. When you get the Annunciator is it gonna go in your room?
I noticed the new wheelock alarms say "Cooper Wheelock" instead of just wheelock.
Some of them now actually just say "Wheelock" again although I have seen "EATON Wheelock" before too.
what is The company EATON? and btw i left some comments on "Fire Alarm Buyers Guide" that you should check out :).
Eaton bought out Cooper a year or two ago. They're a huge electrical products mega-corporation.
like Siemens AG
NewAgeServerAlarm isn't wheelock part of Honeywell so that would be wierd
My parents finally said I could buy a fire alarm control panel and I was thinking on buying a MS-2 but the listing price is $303. Do you know of any control panels that are cheaper and are for beginners?
He used these in the past but I would personally recommend an Artek 8005 or I8005, they are cheap but are really good for beginners
+Please don't You don’t realize those were Andrew’s homemade panels?
I would not recommend a Fire Lite MS-2/MS-4. They're junk. The buttons don't respond well, they put out FWR, and the dip switches crumble so easily.
I have some questions for you.
1. Did the Simplex 4005 Replace your i8005?
2. Do you still have an annunciator?
Is the annunicator that you bought a 4602-9102?
It could be called system test 32
