- With a totally new type of vehicle on the channel (being electric, as well as being a bicycle) we will review our newly purchased SWFT ZIP E-Bike, purchased at Best Buy for $1200. How does it handle in real world usage, and does it line up with the specs on the box? Let us find out!
We'll also compare this with the closet Super73 offering, their cheaper option, the Super73 Z1. How do they stack up against each other? - Авто та транспорт
Mine came this week. I love it. Glad I chose the Zip at that price. Super easy to build. Great for flat area riding, the bike gets heavy fast when going uphill even at the max pedal assist. I also feel like I'm overcranking in the lowest gear, thus the bike really wants to do all the work.
That's awesome man, glad you got one and glad you're enjoying it! Makes riding a breeze.
Does it go on grass
Lol sure, it can if you really want
Would this bike fit a 6ft 2in person, great video BTW.
Thanks so much! I'm 6'2 as well and I don't feel uncomfortable on it. It is a M size frame only, though!
I bought myself a cool SWFT ZIP, bro.
And, I am NOT disappointed.
Love it.
Awesome, glad to hear you're enjoying yours!! I was just using mine yesterday, still love it.
After watching your review I'm glad I got the swft ZIP ..can't wait for it ..it will arrive Friday..👍😎 Great review thanks ..from the people new to the electric world
Glad to hear it, I'm excited people are finding help in this review! Enjoy it my friend
This bike actually seems super decent and the budget gives a lot of room for upgrades. I also think the zip looks freaking dope
It really is man, I'd definitely recommend it! I'm loving mine. I wish I had a short commute, I'd use it everyday lol.
@@BrunerTuner ya man I just ordered some bike off Amazon deal was really good lol when this one goes on sale in the future I'll probably pick it up to
@@A1Bokeh cant believe how many cloans there are of this style mini bike. Certain ones have 750w motors. But I found 1 with exact same specs as Swft zip but different battery
@@A1Bokeh I was booking it 25mph down a windy road.. Slowed down but not enough to avoid going off road hit a pile of dirt and flipped the zip. All the damages was out not allign handlebars and my front wheel somehow had a very slight wobble in it.. No torn seat or scrapped up paint job.
I just picked up one of these from Best Buy for $200 off. My first ebike! Coming from a skinny road bike the seat and suspension and fat tires feel downright luxurious. Also the speed is plenty for me. Wish it had a bit more power for steep hills, but it gets the job done. Overall, love this thing and will be replacing a lot of car miles with it.
That's awesome man, that's a solid deal! I feel the same way, it's very nice for the price point it's at. Agreed, but all around a really good value for the money.
Hello, any issues with the battery feeling over heated?? I’m super concerned about the battery bursting into flames since it’s not a name brand. Waiting for our bikes from Best Buy next week.
I'll be figuring a way to mount springs on that ling seat to cushion those hard bumps. Also sitting position falls into play with springs and that long seat with 6 bolts
I rent E bikes out & swft E bikes is all i use..Been great little E bikes so far..No issues at all other than a flat tire. I highly recommend them.
That's super cool, what an interesting business concept. Where do you rent them out at?
Great review 👍 I'm going to get one soon can't wait
Thanks man! Awesome, hope you enjoy it!
That Ducati Scrambler though ! I need to get a bike again. I don’t give a shit, everybody should be cruising these bad boys to work
Thanks for the video
Thanks, I love this bike! Hope you get what you want!
GREAT VIDEO ! THANK YOU !
Just picked one up for $1150 president day sale, I'll be either adding a mid drive or front hub motor I need to go at least 30mph for city traffic
Dude that's awesome! Let me know if you end up doing that, I'd love to know the details
Same here!
me too 🫡😎
Please document this , I would love to know as well!
I got the Zip & added a front rack with a black milk crate attached for shopping.
I added an under-slung Mirror to my left handle bar.
I bought a good chain lock too.
It's puny for anyone over 6' tall.
It sure beats walking !
Weeeeeeeeeee!!!
I'm surprised by how quick this bike is. I fell in love with the style but I wanted better hill climbing, range and full suspension. I bought the Rize Blade 2, which is the same style but a premium version.
Same! Interesting, I've never heard of that one! Sounds rad
Hello. Does the suspension really make that much of a difference. I read that since it has 4” tires that helps with no rear suspension. Will be riding basically around our neighborhood.
Thanks for feedback!
It most definitely still helps. Tires are a form of suspension, but there's not any big rebound/damping done by tires, more of bump absorption in a way.
@@BrunerTuner I'm just seeing this. Yeah, it's a pretty cool bike. I love it. Sadly, we've been having so many sand storms that I've had to lock it up for now.
Oh no that's no fun. Where are you located?
Love the look of this and am really giving it some strong consideration. I do have a question about the battery though if anyone can answer. It seems like 12-15 miles is going to be the max range and I can live with that, but I've also heard from a few people that after the battery gets below 50% your top speed drops off to like 12mph. Is this what you all are seeing? If so, that may be a deal breaker.
I can definitely tell power drops off some at lower levels, but I don't know about 12mph, not sure if that is accurate or not;
I was going to buy this bike. But then I found a bike off Amazon! Amazon!lol!
Very similar
.. has a single drivetrain similar to the super 73.. with a 20 amp battery all aluminum frame ,hydraulic brakes with a 1200 watt motor.. but that's not why I really bought it. I bought it because I want to drop a 3000 watt motor in there..
Plus it was only $1,300 and I say Wow to that .
cheers and happy riding
@@keepingitreal4894 Nice! I actually went with a Zugo Rhino myself. I love the look and they are local in Texas so I was able to test ride and pick one up fully assembled. Happy Riding!
Where I live in London, Uk, two well known bike shops have a Swift on sale £870, and for just a bit more and Engwie M20 £999,. The latter for me!!
Fascinating. Just a little heavy and expensive for my project. A pair of ebikes to put in the plane would be sweet. I see they make cheaper, lighter ones, but the fat tires are sweet. Can you try it off pavement? Gravel, sand, or similar?
That would be really cool to have to throw in the plane! Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the e bikes, at least the ones somewhat off-road capable, don't weigh less than 55-65lbs. I would most definitely try it out and let you know, but I actually wrecked on this thing the day after and most likely tore my ACL lol. But I think it would do well, especially if you aired down the tires a bit.
@@BrunerTuner wrecked. Oh man. Yes, for soft terrain I think torque would be essential. Looks like it has that, though at perhaps great expense to range. I'll probably just stick with mountain bikes for now at 25lbs each.
Yeah, I was being dumb on it, and doing a slalom at full speed between cones, on brand new tires. Can't beat a good old fashioned MTB, though.
The big road cones near your house, man those would be great to slalom through and there's no way you'd fall off with those big knobby tires, right?
Lmao DP, Savage 🤣 right, especially when the tires are new and basically soap, not a chance of it!
@@BrunerTuner just sayin', this video would have been 80% cooler with a crash and a trip to the hospital. The ZIP does look like good value compared to the Super73. Maybe we should rename it the Super69?
@@speedacademydave lol, trust me, if I could've cashed in on my wreck and monetized my injury, I certainly would 🤣 just didn't have the camera rolling..Haha I am definitely going to just refer to it as the super69 from here it, and see if people correct me.
DP is definitely NOT a dick for this comment 😂
LOL DP!
Can you make it so you don't have to pedel from a stop to start the motor?
Not that I'm aware of, that would certainly be nice.
great 😁 Can you measure the step over height? It's measured from ground to just over the seat. Thx 😁
I love that Honda 600 coupe. I had one exactly like that. I also had the other honda600 too. Two cylinder engine. Ran great 50mpg
How awesome, I love to hear these stories. You must've had the N600, too. Thanks for watching!
Actually, I have a video series on that car, if you're interested in watching it. I'm going to be doing more videos on it again soon.
Im 6'2" thinking of getting this so I can get out more Is my height gonna be a problem I weigh 218 as well
Your height is good, I'm 6'3. The weight is also okay, I think 275 is their recommended limit.
@@BrunerTuner Thank You :)
No problem at all!
people need to try to make it go faster with some kind of mod or a program
It's me!!
How did you turn the light on? Fun bike. Digging mine so far.
I believe when the LCD screen is on, you hold down the down arrow for 3 seconds or so!
It’s the up button for 3 seconds. Down for 3 secs is the walk assist.
@@BSwayze Thanks! When I pushed the down arrow and the wheel started spinning I was shocked at first!
@@michaelreis4334 No problem! That’s if you need to push it up a hill it’ll move with you until you let go.
Also if you go >5mph and hold down button for 3 sec that will activate your cruise control. Brake or accelerate will disengage it.
I just got my this weekend!
Was wondering if you had done any more with your ZIP?
Not yet unfortunately, just been enjoying it!
U revved up da.. electric motor??
is there a limiter on this bike?can u remove it
There is, it's 20mph. If there is, I don't know how to do it!
How would the pedaling be for someone 6'2"?
I'm 6'3, perfectly fine for me
Thanks buddy!! I'm getting mine tomorrow!!! Can't wait. We gotta put some more videos up of this bike.
Awesome man, congrats! You'll enjoy it. Been using mine a lot. For sure, need to think of some mods to do lol.
May i know how long does a battery last? Cause the agent on bestbuy said 10 hours is that right?
The battery is horrible on this Swift zip..
but I found a similar bike on Amazon with a 20 amp battery hydraulic brakes ,all aluminum frame 1200w for only $1,300.
Only thing I didn't like it has a single drivetrain like the super 73. I'm not a fan of that.
You can always put Freewheel on there if you want I guess
Could 2 riders fit on that seat?
Yes, but there are no passenger pegs!
Is there a way to mount pegs or not?
No, unless you got really creative. It's not designed for weight over 250lbs if I recall, so it'd have to be two pretty small people, or one big one small.
Does your battery not perform as it should? Seems my zip battery might have issues
It definitely seems like it could be better, seems to drop off in power significantly once it gets a bit lower. I think some of the other commenters on this video said the same thing.
@@BrunerTuner I redid a test runs and the voltage sag drops to 1-2 bars than on standby goes bk to 3 after a 10ish mile run with hills
@@BrunerTuner hey. When I went by a speed trap radar by the police. It clocked me at 25mph as the zip said I was going at 25mph on the lcd screen. Idk how i got it to accurately read with 20" wheels but it was..lol
I think you can pedal past the 20mph mark, it's just the motor is electronically limited to get you to 20mph
Have you taken it on any trails?
Not yet..I tore my ACL so I'm chilling a bit 😂
Where’s the 73 ?
Wish I had one!
is it chinees brand like Bezior FX100 or Hurley? I ordered bezior but it never arrived, I am careful ordering another one.
It's not a Chinese brand as far as I'm aware.
It is a Chinese bike they make the same bikes as Hurley if it wasn’t a Chinese bike somebody would’ve been sued by now you can’t take somebody else’s idea swft and Hurley have no patents for their bikes ZOOZbikes does though anytime you see the same bike and I mean identical to a T made by two different companies, with different branding and logos etc. but the bike is exactly the same it’s probably a Chinese manufacturer
Can you remove/bypass the governor on the swift and open up the speed?
If so, I have no idea..I think that would require modifying the motor controller somehow.
@@BrunerTuner does the 20mph feel like enough? I am ready to pull the trigger on an ebike and I love this bike.
Coming from someone who rides a full on motorcycle..it leaves you wanting a bit more, but 20mph on a bicycle still feels pretty quick.
Coming from someone who rides a full on motorcycle..it leaves you wanting a bit more, but 20mph on a bicycle still feels pretty quick.
The controller settings can be changed at your own risk. It can get up to 30 with the changes but you may risk burning the motor up.
How well does it ride on the grass if you just try to get going on grass
Rides just fine
@@BrunerTuner on gravel too? could I ride it on a bike trail?
can the swft hold 2 people?
You can get away with it, but it's not recommended for more than 250lbs. And there's no passenger seat pegs!
@@BrunerTuner thanks! We are both 100lbs :) if we installed our own pegs would that work you think?
Oh nice! Yeah there's enough room on the seat for that :)
@@BrunerTuner I just got mine today at Best Buy at its way too tall for me hahaha I’m 5 feet…. I just bought 5 inch platform shoes from Amazon LOL
Awh congrats that's awesome! LOL that's hilarious, good for you though! I have a friend who's also 5 feet tall and she rides motorcycles too, she wears big platforms as well!
Can u ride it with out peddling
You can. You have to get it up to 2mph first and then you can throttle it
I think it needs a bigger battery. 15 miles is all I get, even with pedaling.
Yeah, sounds like it could be a common issue.
@@BrunerTuneryea and for me I live in an area where there are a lot of hills and inclines so that battery goes down quickly and I like to go on long rides.
Hello, been researching ebikes. I have about one hour before Best Buy ends their sale price of $1,199 otherwise goes back up to $1,300.
I’m concerned about the lack of rear suspension. I don’t want a bike that will potentially hurt my back or feel like my body is moving hard too much. Also, do you know which brand of battery they use such as Samsung or LG for example. I read that it can be potentially dangerous to have an off brand or older type battery due to fire. Thanks so much!
I sincerely doubt the lack of rear suspension will affect your back, this is meant for roads, and the seat, fat tires, and suspension are quite plush. Additionally, the batteries are good quality from everything I've seen, and I've had 0 weird issues in my 6 months of ownership. Best of luck!
@@BrunerTuner Thanks so much for your reply😀
You're welcome, best of luck my friend.
@@BrunerTuner …Yes, I’m still worried about the battery. The company just said they come from China. Been seeing so many sad and unfortunate fires and loss of life due to batteries exploding.
Since I purchased two Ebikes, not sure how to safely charge them.
Makes me think I should buy another brand that says their batteries have a temp indicator. I think they’re the Ariel ebikes. A NY article has a law suit against Rad.
Let us know which bike you would prefer! I'd love the Super73 looks, with the engineering of the swft.
I totally agree... Super73 for the looks...but the practicality of the swft wins it for me... I just love how you can mod these bike so much & apparently this is a big thing in the east.... Im doing my research at the mo.... But with fuel prices increasing I keep thinking about buying the swft for my totally 8 mile commute to work.... The swft is the answer I believe... Thanks for a great video buddy keep it up
I feel like the battery range is false advertising. I mainly just use pedal assist and I think I only get a little bit less of 6-7 miles before the battery gauge drops to one bar
How odd..maybe a faulty battery? That's pretty bad for that to happen. Or really bad battery degradation. Either way, that 37 miles is going to be a really, really ideal condition range, that's always how companies get those numbers.
@@BrunerTuner I'm going to do a real test on the range as that is just a rough estimate. I do feel like the bike won't even go half of it's range though. In my opinion ebike companies provide very misleading range estimates. They should include throttle only/max pedal assist estimates as that's how most people want to ride these things lol.
Agreed. This is companies in general, car companies post ideal numbers and very non-real world stats, it's all marketing BS. would love to see you do some testing!
yea, i had a similar experience . i got about 15miles total with level 2 pedal assist the whole way and that was including a pretty long downhill . i am getting a new battery from them though since they included the wrong set of keys with my first one. so if i had a faulty battery ill find out when i get the new one
Very interesting..let me know how the new battery does, I'm curious to hear!
Bike looks small for someone that is 250lbs
Don't fall
336 miles, brand new, I babyed this thing. Then all of a sudden the throttle starts to sputtering around 30mph, but the pedal assist still works and I start to get the #4 error. Before I get home the #30 errors pops up. I get hone look at all connections. Everything is perfect. I never got it wet, never jumped it, never abused it. So I keep trying it out in the driveway, hoping to get it working, but the pedal assist won't even work now, then I get the #12 error then I got nothing. No power no screen no headlight, just the brake light. I call support and they hung up on me three times lied to me and never helped me. The next day I went out to play around with it, and now it powers on but no throttle no assist and when I try to pedal it the screen flickers on and off. What fucking 🍋. I am homicidal after this. What nerve, DO LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU. For all who do know, This is a JUICED ebike hyperscrambler 2. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF SHIT!!
this camera angle is horrible. bike seems pretty alright
0:38 My ears :(
Mmmm rubber squeal
@@BrunerTuner Haha, solid review btw. I just bought mine about 10 minutes ago from best buy; should be coming on Thursday...
@@tyler.s7793 awesome man, thank you! Hope you enjoy it. I've been enjoying mine. But do be careful, I did tear my ACL by playing around too hard and doing a slalom on this thing really fast..
@@BrunerTuner Will do!
The only way this compares to the super 73 is styling. Other than that it's a cheap copy. Sounds like they're using in adequate cells in the battery pack if it's starting to dip voltage at the very peak of charge.
Lol, tell me, How is it not a direct comparison? Same price point, same frame materials, electric powered fat tire bike, same motor size, class 2, 20mph top speed. It never dipped in power, it was the LED display showing that it may have, but it would go back up.
