I Watched The Dragon Prince Season 4... AND IT'S INSANE!! (Analysis)

- So I was given access to the first four episodes of season 4, obviously I can't tell you exactly what happens or reveal anything, and even if I could I wouldn't because I don't like spoilers (even though this video is full of spoilers but not really). This video goes over my thoughts of the season so far including plot analysis, character analysis and a couple things I like and don't like.
If you guys have any questions let me know, I'll try to respond to any questions down below. I would like to thank the wonderful people at Wonderstorm for giving me early access to the show, and so far, as the title says, I think its absolutely insane! - Фільми й анімація
I really like the idea of Callum walking on a path of darkness and it would be cool to see him conquer his evil self because one of the greatest feats a man can accomplish is to conquer and control his inner demons and achieve peace with himself.
that's good. You can also apply the Star Wars philosophy of having a balance with light and dark since it is bad to be in the light and in the dark a lot. It would be good to consider that Callum has a balance with his light and inner demons
but you dont get to see anything, because this whole 'season' was one normal episode stretched out for a few hours, i cant believe people praise this crap, you waited years to get nothing.

Claudia has had WAY too many chances to see how her evil is affecting the world and those around her. She’s seen her brother, who was _on her side_ realize that what they’re doing is wrong, and leave to fight against their father. She KNOWS that dark magic hurts and kills other creatures (her apologizing to the deer before she saved Soren is a clue that she has empathy… she chooses to ignore it). Soren has BEGGED her to turn to the good side. Yes she’s been through a lot. Yes she literally saw her father die. But at this point, I don’t think she can be redeemed. The only way I see them doing a redemption arc is by claiming it was all Aaravos’ influence, which I’ll never buy. She wasn’t being mind controlled by him, just heavily persuaded. She chose to listen.
I blame her for the death of the Sky Mage. I loved his character and because of her he’s dead. I can’t forgive her for that.
Oh I think Claudia is way past the turning point. It looks like Terry will be the next victim of her darkness.
I've only seen Episode 1 so far, but am I the only one who found the delivery of some of the dialogue just INCREDIBLY cringeworthy? The final scene between Ezran and Callum was the only one that felt like a realistic exchange to me. Excited to see the way things go re plot from this point though. Also Rayllum better get a happy ending or so help me sources imma riot.
Very much not alone. This was my main take from season 4. Only the Aamya arc was able to be consistent tone wise.
dont worry, the entire 'season' is that way, you will stop caring about the whole series by the end, this season has no plot, and cant take itself serious at all...

@@davidross5640 I don't entirely agree it felt more like it's only a part the entire story (potential spoilers)
Rayla and callum should not get back together atleast not that quick the series only takes a few days she abandoned him he's hurt and angry
Ezran hasn't really changed so much just more mature tho I wished they explored how he can talk to animals my theory is that all the royal line of katolis had a connection with animals reaching back to the human who discovered Aravos plot
Also if you remember the first 2 seasons didn't really have much of a plot either not until season 3 closed while each season is labeled as books they're more like chapters it doesn't really make sense til u get the whole book my theory is the next 2 seasons will just be setting up Aravos ie his past then he'll escape in the final episode of season 6 then in book 7 the team hill fight him and have to retreat or they'll arrive at the aftermath and then in the last 3 episodes (after all they set up vixen as this big baddie and they only fought him in the last 3 episodes)
Also they are exactly as you'd expect personality wise
Ezran: wiser mor mature but still a little childish (he's like 14 15 but still king)
Callum: calmer more confidence he always felt like a fish out of water being a prince but hes spent 2 years doing something he's good at Magic (first human in recorded memory able to do magic with out a source
Rayla: more paitent and calmer also a bit more goal oriented and pessimistic (no longer has something to prove Also spent 2 years focused on a single goal with nothing to show for it)
Soren not much different a bit kinder still got an ego conflicted about his sister and not as big chip on shoulder
Claudia more practiced in Magic spent 2 years with aravos obsessed with keeping her Father back
Viren ptsd want to spend time with daughter he died that tends one to reevaluate ones life and it wasn't until he practiced dark magic did he look to be getting back to his old self my theory is that when he was reborn he didn't have the taint of dark magic but once he did magic it came back
Also if Claudia is Redeemed it will be because of Terri Also look at why she's doing everything she not exactly evil at least not yet willing to do evil things to keep what's left of her family together

@@raven1436 How did YOU find the dialogue? I still haven't seen past Ep 1 yet but big parts of it almost felt like I was watching an elementary school production, kinda uncomfortable to sit through.
Dragon Prince Theories
1. Aaravos' Guide looks like Gollum (Picture Riddles?).
2. We know the Tidebound Elves are involved in Aaravos' prison.
3. Clue to Prison Theory
- Sky Archdragon: The Mirror = The Prison's appearance
- Earth Archdragon: The Map = The Location of the Prison
- Ocean Archdragon: The Blueprint = Entrance and features of the prison
4. There are no Star Archdragons but only Void Dragons and Star Devouring Dragons.
5. The Key of Aaravos reminds me of the One Ring (Callum couldn't drop it in the lava).
6. Viren became unconscious like Callum when he reused Dark Magic. He might go through the same mind journey Callum went through and find his primal source (Likely Star Magic?). The end credits images of Episode 9 showed Viren in his Dark Magic form, becoming exhausted, and collapsing like Callum did when he first used Dark Magic.
Character Similarities to other Stories
1. Aaravos reminds me of Sauron (Annatar) and Darth Sidious.
2. Viren is like Count Dooku and Saruman combined.
3. Claudia reminds me of Morgan Le Fay
4. Callum reminds me of Anakin Skywalker, Merlin, and Frodo.
5. Ezran reminds me of Bran Stark, Aragorn, and King Arthur.
6. Rex Igneous reminds me of Smaug and Nelfarion (Deathwing).
7. The Startouch Elves remind of the Maiar (Lower Ainur).
Dragon Prince Location Similarities to other Stories
1. Umber Tor reminds me of Erebor.
2. Tidebound Archipelago will probably look like Atlantis.
I hope we don't have to wait two years for season 5. I think season 4 was a little bit short, for something we've waited for so long.
from my sources, there are 7 seasons and the next 3 will come out in March
Gosh, as a major Aaravos fanboy, I was so excited to hear that there's so much more to him than just that Fallen Star clip from Episode 4. For big Aaravos fans, do you think Episodes 2-4 are gonna be pretty jaw-dropping or mind-blowing, and does it feel like it's setting up for even more reveals in the second half of Season 4?
Like I said, a LOT more was revealed about him than I thought. Not really in ep 1 and 2 if im remembering correctly (I actually made this video several days ago and scheduled it) but the fallen star clip doesn't just stop there, it continues on, for quite a while past what they revealed.

Did they show flashbacks or hints as to what horrible things Claudia had to do in order to bring back Viren? Or does she show how she’s changed in the present? I’ve wanted them to take her character in a darker direction, but I’d be interested to see what got her to this point, and if she’s in a darker place mentally bc of it. Also, do they show what Rayla has been up to this whole time and why she left?
I won't confirm flashbacks or not, but she's definitely more nonchalant about things sane people would be terrified of. If you look at the graphic novel "Through The Moon" you will see exactly why rayla left.

What do you think the next seasons will be named?
I think Book 5 Ocean, Book 6 Star, Book 7 Dark.
Can I ask how Soren was the first four episodes? Do we get any hints at the trauma he’s experiencing from everything that happened with his father and sister - or is he just his usual goofy self?

Can you say which episode Rayla returns in? If not, can you say which part of the episode is her return? Also, for the people who haven’t read Through the Moon, is it explained in season 4?
If you watched the “the fallen star” clip, you can see Rayla in the back on Zubeia. I am pretty sure that Rayla will return on the next episode

not awkwardness really, Callum is very confused on how to feel about rayla. does he continue on like rayla didn't break his heart or does he hold a grudge and let her prove herself to him? (it will be interesting to find out that answer)
How would rank each episode?
10/10 for all so far, they're all handled really well, but episode 3 so far is my favorite

Sure.
He's unsure how to feel about her return and still feels the pain of her leaving. To put it this way, they didn't immediately rejoice. (imo it would be UNnatural if they just continued like nothing happened)

I found a lot atla references in season 4
As a big fan of TDP who was disappointed in the first episode of S4, I think the writing was bad, didn’t really show the impact of S3 aftermath on the world, characters showed little progress, and didn’t really set up any meaningful tension for the rest of the season. So can you tell me if the writing for the other episodes match the quality that I saw from episode 1, or does it get better?
Also how trustworthy can a reviewer be in honesty when they might feel compelled to speak highly of a show since they were given early access? (I don’t mean to be insulting, I just want to gain your insight).
I agree that episode one could have shown a bit more, (it's my least favorite out of the 4 by a long shot) but we do see more plotlines develope in later episodes, (although I disagree entirely about the lack of growth I mean look at callum, in episode one he's much more confident in his magic even jumping out of a window!)
as for a biased review, I wasn't directed by anyone on what video I had to make or to even make this video at all, I was just given early access so I could make one. my only bias is being that im in love with this show, I watched season 1 on release and have always liked it but everything in this video is my own actual opinion.

In my opinion, I disagree, the Fourth season wasn’t worth it. Like the 4th season was good? I could say, but nowhere fantastic that you NEED to watch it as quick as you can. Despite the animation, and how everything looked. The characters looked good, not gona lie. But it feels like it’s starting to build up in a way to the 5th series. But I could say with out spoiling it, it’s a start, and it’s it’s only going to get not better but interesting in a way, and build more of a new kind of relationship with the team, you could call it in my opinion.
Idk it was just… Bland if I had to sum up of what I just said into one word.
