I thought I had left a comment here already, but it seems I was mistaken. This is far and away my favorite rendition of this song (yes, I like it better than any of Leonard Cohen's performances, and the less said about the artists who chop the final verses off the better) -- the unaccompanied guitar and the rawness of your singing voice combined to produce a version that tugs at the listener's soul. Like many other commenters, I have come back to your cover again and again, and I will continue to do so, for as long as the video remains up. Thank you.
I scrolled through nearly two years of YT history to find this cause I could *not* find you via standard searching. Love it! You have been liked and saved to a playlist!
The last 2 verses are unreal idk how so many artists could leave them out. This is my Favourite rendition of this song. You give me shivers every time man.
I know your comment is 8 years old but I absolutely agree. The only thing I would do different imo, is I think the 5th and 6th versus should be switched. Because to me it kinda fits how one might say the didn't say the word and ask that then say maybe there's a God who exists.
Thank you. By far, THE BEST rendition ever. Thank you, also, for singing all the verses. The remorse and broken spirit portrayed in the final verses, and the hope of redemption that is the final verse, are significant and often left out. I don't understand how anyone can say they love this song and yet cut out those final verses. It does the song a terrible injustice. Thank you again for sharing this.
This is my favorite song. i probably listen to about 15 different versions about 1000 times a day. This is easily one of the best i've heard and i really like how you did all the verses instead of just five like most people do. Also thanks for actually mentioning Cohen as well, it seems like a lot of people think Buckley wrote it.
Words can not describe how amazing this is to me. I love the way you made it unique, and kept the spirit, power, and emotion of the song. I am not lying when I say this is my favorite version of one of my favorite songs of all time. I enjoy this more than any other version, professional or amateur, I have ever heard. You've earned me as a fan. Thank you.
Thank you very much for covering all seven (surviving) verses of this modern classic -- the words are as brilliant as the melody, and I always really miss the omitted verses when I listen to any of the 4- or 5-verse performances out there. I have heard several interpretations to which I could happily listen repeatedly, and I am pleased to add yours to this high-quality collection.
Do you know what really makes this rendition? It's real; it's raw; it's living. It isn't rehearsed, or auto-tuned. Mistake, off key (it's not), it's all open to error, intimate. It's real........ what most music today isn't.
This is awesome. I was looking for any cover that had the last two verses and this was more than just some version that fit the qualifications. The pure emotion of the story in the song was perfectly captured and I applaud you on this and all songs/covers of yours I get to hear going forward.
Chris this rendition is absolutely hauntingly beautiful. Always loved Leonard Cohen ( have you heard .... Dance me to the end of love ) You are an amazing artist. I love love your " Mostly Sober " ... Grateful I have head you perform a few times :)
Easily the best version I've heard, it just blew me away! It's clearly sung from the heart and with lots of passion; I've got goose bumps. You're absolutely amazing!❤️
I feel like love been missing out. I just discovered you a couple months ago, and absolutely love everything I've heard. You're an amazingly talented artist. Thank you for sharing your voice.
flawless i didnt think you could top wild horses but you did. i really felt the emotion in that one even more than the origonal. you have a special gift make sure u use to its full potential.
CRAZY!! I started this video and read "The best time to play this song is 5 am... I looked at the time and the top of my phone and it said exactly 5 A.M.!!
I have said it before, but I will say it again.. I would ban you from covering ANYTHING of mine.. You are just amazing!! I feel like a damn music pusher when I meet people these days and I explain that NO PERSON should die before hearing Chris Ross..
AMAZING! Your songs whether original or covers always have a huge impact on me but this one, especially during all the hard times so many are going through gave me even extra goosebumps! wow.. Superb!
Well done sir !! Tons of emotion on that ; can't believe how many incomplete versions are out there. Even though they're of the aforementioned types, Andrea Motis really does it justice as well .
I just wish I could see your left hand to see how you're playing it. I sing this for my daughter at night to help her fall to sleep but I just play the simple chords. I wish I could see the little details you put in there to make it sound so much better.
Almost 100 comments and yours is the only one that's critical (if one can call something patently contrafactual "criticism") -- read the room. And then GTFO, you clearly don't deserve to hear this man's talent.
This is now my favorite cover.
Wow!
Absolutely the greatest rendition of this beautiful song I've ever heard.

Sir, you could sing this to me the rest of my life. Very excellent rendition , Sir.
Real music is rare now... I know when i hear one...

I really like the order you play them in and that you put emotion into it.
Best cover of hallelujah ever. I love u
Perfection
Thanks for doing this! So rarely do you hear an unabridged cover, and you put your heart and soul into this one. It shows.
Beautiful cover!! Love the song but no one records it with all 7 verses. Love it, thank you for sharing.

I feel like, out of all the covers of this beautiful song this one captured it. Flawless
5am is the best time to sing anything, it is a time when emotions are easy to draw upon. I love this version.
I came here just wanting to hear someone who sings all of the verses, and now I'm listening to this at work over and over. I love it. Nice job.
Wow! One of my favorite songs... And honestly the BEST performance of it. This man's voice makes me melt.
AMEN !!!!
I’ve listened to this version of this song more than any song in my life and I thank you for that!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for singing all 7 verses; and so beautifully! Hallelujah!

Beautiful and heartfelt rendition. Thank you for covering the 7 verses rather than the usual 4-5 verses.
Easily the best version I've heard, it just blew me away! It's clearly sung from the heart and with lots of passion; I've got goose bumps. You're absolutely amazing!❤️

Not bad boss
Who said he’s the boss 👀🥴😂 Rick Ross said he’s the boss 💁🏻♀️ see why I’m always confused 😵💫
Why are you wearing a hat, when you are inside?....
Anyway.. beautiful cover :-)
Much better than Adam Sandler.
far too emotional. bordering on corny. a dis-service to cohen.
I might be bordering on corny, but I’d bet 50$ you’ve never been within 30ft of a woman who was bordering on horny.
Almost 100 comments and yours is the only one that's critical (if one can call something patently contrafactual "criticism") -- read the room. And then GTFO, you clearly don't deserve to hear this man's talent.
Very Nice!
