That will work too. Keep in mind the built-in Bluetooth of your iPad is not made for Bluetooth MIDI. Performance and features will improve when bypassing this with a WIDI Uhost.
Thanks for reaching out. As far as I understood from our community, the Bluetooth chipset of the MVave is quite limited. I think it will be only able to connect to an operating system (host) and an app. You can opt-in on the shared knowledge of the community via facebook.com/groups/cmeprofans 🙏🙏
If you set your devices to MIDI mode, you can transmit MIDI. No problem. Besides MIDI, these devices sent a lot of other data via the USB port. Transmitting that wirelessly via a universal 3rd party solution by CME is pretty much impossible.
I think not. The XPS-10 only offers MIDI over USB and it seems that is not class compliant. As far as I can see it requires installation of drivers to connect to a computer via USB. You cannot install such drivers on WIDI Uhost, making it incompatible.
If I have a device like the Teenage engineering OP-1 or similar. Basically something that can sequence and send data over usb midi. Can I use a widi uhost to make it the controller for an external midi device like an analog synth ? If so do I need a second device for the synth?
You can WIDI Uhost as a USB host and Bluetooth MIDI transceiver in once. So you can convert your MIDI controller to Bluetooth MIDI over its USB port. It will require a USB OTG cable between your hardware and the Uhost and you can add external power via USB-C. If your MIDI device is USB bus-powered, it can be powered via the Uhost. You must be sure your MIDI hardware is fully class compliant, as in it does not require any installation of drivers when connecting to an operating system. If that is the case, it is also compatible with WIDI Uhost. In the case you want to transmit MIDI messages wirelessly between two pieces of hardware, you will need a second WIDI device on your synth side too. So I can use my old 2007 iMac core 2 duo with the USB Host and put the IN OUT MIDI jacks into my keyboards and they all autoconnect to the Mac? Can the MIDI channel still be selected on the keyboards or do I have to startup the synths in predetermined order as to get the same channelnumber for each, so my DAW projects don't get confused each time?
If you want to use an old iMac, it is recommended to add WIDI Bud Pro. For your keyboard, you can use WIDI Uhost. WIDI devices auto-pair with each other. If your iMac has Bluetooth 4 or higher, you can also manually pair it with WIDI. When a connection is made, it simply functions as a MIDI cable. Feel welcome to join facebook.com/groups/cmeprofans
Cool! I probably don't need a Uhost if the host is the iPad right -- just widi masters for all the devices I'm using?

So cool ad :)
This video is a vibe btw 🤌
Hello! Great video!

Are this compatible with Roland XPS-10 or just buy wireles transmitter receiver

We haven’t tried this specific setup ourselves, but have seen it passing by in our Facebook Group. Feel welcome to join facebook.com/groups/cmeprofans
