Work After Stroke

WORK AFTER STROKE:
At the recent Reading Movement event, we discussed about going back to work after stroke. It rekindled memories of my own experience. I was keen to return to office and so three days after my discharge, I was back at work. After a year, however, I had worn out my welcome and I was being told every day that "life is more important than work" until I got the message. So with a heavy heart, I left my employment. That was when I started writing to channel my anger and frustration, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I began to meet more people and we learned from our shared experiences. So for stroke survivors out there, what are your stories? Did you have a supportive employer, or were you discarded and made to feel unwelcome?
