    I was watching your video and realized that I recognized you and the dog. I rode my motorcycle to Tuk on the exact same days. I saw you at the Arctic Circle Sign. I passed you during a break and you passed me again afterwards. I was behind you on the first ferry. I looked at my photos of the ferry, and recognized your car, the license plate is correct. I was also in Inuvik on Canada Day. How coincidental! It was a great adventure. Greetings from Amsterdam!

      Oh, how funny! Where do your travels take you this summer? We’ve been in Wyoming this year.

      @@NoMansOverland I'm from Europe, Last year I took a unpaid holiday, shipped my bike to Calgary and spend 4 months in Western Canada and Alaska. For this year it will be just 2 weeks in France and probably Spain. Hopefully I can take a few months off next year, and make a longer trip, but not sure where to go.

      We were really happy with it! That was our first year in the camper and being able to cook indoors was a huge improvement for us.

      we have to remember that people live, work, play and drive that highway every day... so it's not such a big deal unless you drive like an idiotic maniac

    Great Adventure! We made the trip to Tuktoyaktuk July 15th-20th this summer! Looks like you were a couple of weeks ahead of us. We did swim in the Arctic Ocean the morning we headed south. The water temp was 66 degrees and air about the same.

    What a great adventure. Don’t know how you do it with the sun not going down?!🤷🏻‍♀️🤗🤗

      Yes, northern Alaska is an adventure. The midnight sun is spectacular. On Baffin Island I just had to lay down at 10pm and try to sleep. The teenagers up there don't sleep for days and then just crash in bed.

    Did you see any larger RV's traveling on the Dempster? Like over 30'?

    • @NoMansOverland
      @NoMansOverland  2 місяці тому +1

      I did see a few RVs comparable to the Cruise America rental RVs that are everywhere in the US, I think those are over 30’ but I couldn’t say for sure. The road itself isn’t really anything that rough, but you’d want to go slow and have good tires for sure.

    We likely crossed paths - I was in Carmacks on Canada Day (dreary rainy day) & reached Tuk morning of July 3 in my little black honda fit. Funny, I had dead calm at the Arctic Circle but windier than snot at the coast - then sweating heat in Inuvik. I noticed the swallows & flies too at the ferry.

    • @NoMansOverland
      @NoMansOverland  8 місяців тому

      The flies up there were worse than the mosquitoes! I’d definitely do it again, though.

    Do I need a specific type of tires to drive on Dempster Highway or is all-season okay?

    • @NoMansOverland
      @NoMansOverland  2 місяці тому

      I think you’d be happier with a decent set of A/Ts. I heard a guy on street tires say he’d had three flats on the trip. We had zero.

    how much is the ferry crossing?

    • @NoMansOverland
      @NoMansOverland  8 місяців тому +1

      They’re part of the regular highway system, so there is no toll.
