Indalu Game Reserve, Mossel Bay

Indalu Game Reserve, situated 30km from on the Garden Route, is an elephant sanctuary for tamed elephants, rescued from cruelty and abuse. Situated on a beautiful stretch of land between deep valleys and rolling hills, these gentle giants roam free in their natural environment on an 800 hectare reserve.
For day guests who wish to extend their stay, accommodation at Indalu (Xhosa word for nature) is provided in 2 luxury chalets which each sleep 4 guests. The chalets are beautifully styled with en-suite bathrooms. Situated on the banks of a scenic river, the 2 chalets share a fully equipped central kitchen, dining area and outdoor lapa with braai facilities.
Enjoy an extraordinary close encounter with these remarkable elephants. Experienced handlers introduce visitors to the elephants where guests get to touch and feed the animals. The 1 km sunrise or sundowner walk with the elephants is an experience not to be missed.
Visitors are also treated to game viewing in either open vehicles or walking safaris where the elephants, rhino, various antelope species and over 200 species of birds can be viewed.
The pace is slow at Indalu; soft early morning mists, glorious sunsets, the slow meandering river and the gentle ambling elephants. The memories will last a lifetime.
