At a convention many years ago, Gene Roddenberry called the fans Trekkies. A fan shouted out that it is Trekkers. The Great Bird replied, "No, it's 'Trekkies.' I should know - I invented the thing."
To be honest, I sometimes forget that Christian was in, "Star Trek 6." I remember him as the guy from, "Kuffs," more easily. Of course, he was the lead actor in that movie. So ...
I saw Star Trek 6 in the theater and recall a bit of gasp in the audience when Christian started speaking in the scene. He was pretty recognizable at the time, but I think everyone then thought of him as just an 80's pretty boy and didn't expect him to pop up opposite of George Takei
Slater later admitted that he kept his Starfleet uniform used in his cameo simply by wearing it home after the shot and never returning it to the Paramount wardrobe department. Can't say I blame him, I'd have done the same thing! 😂🖖
I can't believe you prefer Paul Allen's chair to Slater's. Look at the subtle, off-white coloring of his chair; the tasteful thickness of it. Oh my god, it even has a production stamp.
I wonder what it would have been like if they had made movies or a TV series about "Captain Hikaru Sulu and the Starship Excelsior". I just remembered that Chris Slater was in Star Trek VI.
this is weird.. he said he was young and nervous on star trek 6 but he had already done a bunch of hugely popular movies.. name of the rose, gleaming the cube, etc.. i remember seeing the movie in the theater and saw that scene and was like wow it's christian slater; and then realized it was just that tiny scene (i think.. he doesn't show up again, does he?) and it was even more weird. it just seemed so random and out of place.. not that i minded, i've always liked him. but yeah interesting. i never thought he was a trekkie type person.. i assumed he was either similar to a lot of characters he plays or maybe some super refined/stuffy(maybe) actor who is kind of socially awkward. i wonder how many girls have gotten to know him and been really disappointed at his personality lol. he seemed to attract female fans who loved the whole charismatic bad-boy thing.
If I had the chair, I would create artificial intelligence for it and install speakers and stuff. So everytime somebody sat on it, it would say stuff like "Jesus, you ass smells bad" or "How about knocking off a few pounds".
I love everything about Christian Slater!
he has some random good sci-fi flicks
when hes like "Ah alright hes my best friend!" i just died he is so cute and adorable
All I hear is JD. Omg I'm fangirling!!!
I only hear JD from Heathers
Sameeeee lol

Whenever I see Christian Slater...............part of the 90's comeback. :)
Slater just got cooler in my eyes.
At a convention many years ago, Gene Roddenberry called the fans Trekkies. A fan shouted out that it is Trekkers. The Great Bird replied, "No, it's 'Trekkies.' I should know - I invented the thing."
Can't believe this was 12 years ago

Damn he’s in my favorite movie True Romance and he’s a sci fi nerd as well. What a great guy 😁

Cool. Christian Slater should be in more movies
Rock on, Slater. Rock on!
Is it bad that I love Christian Slater
Punnynoodle 70 ...why would that be bad? I get asking that about liking JD...but the actor is not bad...
kinda
Not baaaaad , it's amazing. ..
All I hear is Happy Harry Hard On. "Hello dad I'm in jail"
Christian Slater kinda haves the same voice from heathers a little
I thought he sounded like Norm Mcdonald
He owns a reproduction chair, not THE chair. That's owned by Paul Allen and is in the EMP Science Fiction museum in Seattle.
Can confirm. Have seen the chair for myself in Seattle.
I can't believe you prefer Paul Allen's chair to Slater's. Look at the subtle, off-white coloring of his chair; the tasteful thickness of it. Oh my god, it even has a production stamp.
Christian Slate should make a fine starfleet captain, he has expierence shouting at people ;-)
I wonder what it would have been like if they had made movies or a TV series about "Captain Hikaru Sulu and the Starship Excelsior". I just remembered that Chris Slater was in Star Trek VI.
Oh boy. What I wouldn't give to meet him. #hugging and kissing him like no tomorrow.

Im watching Heathers right now im crying thats all i hear
I want to see Christian Slater and John C. Reilly in a movie together
Christian Slater was in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Cameo appearance.
it's just... Slater; it's a mononym, like...
Ooh he likes to use Star Trek as foreplay!
"You have hearing problems, mister?"
people say me and him sound almost exactly alike
tell your girl, i said hi,
k
me: hey, the t.f.c was your back,

Fuck that bruh. You think I'm gonna put my ugly ass on video?

Someone get Slater on Strange New Worlds
True Romance ftw
Slater kinda sounds like Prof. Frink from the Simpsons
I dunno why it's a surprise. A lot of people liked it as kids & as adults
Talk hard.
I LOVE YOU CHRISTIAN SLATER
1963 show?
hahahaha "...and I think I'm Conan O'Brien."
He kind of looks like Kato Kaelin.
I think I have the answer to this interview. The man sitting in this chair is Norm Macdonald disguised as Christian Slater.
nice vid
Arkansas Dave Rudabaugh !!
1963 show? And what show is that exactly?
I wonder if Slater would play a star trek captain in a Trek TV series, or at least a crew member, why hasn't anyone asked him?
Wonder if he's ever seen Star Wars...
Stone David A guy his age who is a huge nerd, I'm sure he has lol in a recent interview, he knew who Boba Fett was, so I suppose he has seen it.
Where's this interview? Do you know the name of it? I believe you and everything I just want to see it is all.
This is hilarious.
It was Christian Bale ;)
Is that jason dean, brian kelly, mark hunter/hard harry?!?!? (Ik its him)
Seeing actors like Christian Slater, Winona Ryder brings me back to happier days when things are lucid and no validation required.
wel i got half of the name right :p
Yikes. So many Slater Haters. What gives?
Alright so what he's not very good.
He called himself a Trekkie! I thought that was a no no.
2022 YT recommendations is why I'm replying 9 years later.
Gene himself used trekkies. Only the trekker gatekeepers have a problem with it.
If he is such a big trekkie, how did he get 1963 rather than 66, and i rather like slater.
No idea. Maybe because it rhymes so nicely? Slater hater.
Just an idea. I'm not a Slater hater vindicator.
he’s so hot
If I had the chair, I would create artificial intelligence for it and install speakers and stuff. So everytime somebody sat on it, it would say stuff like "Jesus, you ass smells bad" or "How about knocking off a few pounds".
Christian Slater saw me at Whole Foods
wow a flood of disinformation thanks conon
Uhhhhhh
and this matters...because?
A hardcore Trekkie who doesn’t know when it came out
Did anyone else find Slater to be obnoxious during most of the interview?
I want to see Christian Slater and John C. Reilly in a movie together
