I just bought the green iMac and I absolutely love it! Very easy on the eyes and a calm addition! My old Mac was 11 years old and could no longer be upgraded! Wow, I love it! I am even enjoying the Pages and Numbers, (Apples version of Word and Excel, respectively). No need to buy the Microsoft Package. And the photos! Oh! And videos! Can’t say enough good about it!!
Some important facts that you omitted from your overview of the M1 iMac: (1: Some of the features you described are not available, out-of-the-box, on the base $1,299 iMac; they are either extra-cost options or as part of higher-tier packages. (Ethernet port, two more USB-C ports, TouchID keyboard). (2: You did not elaborate on the 4.5K display and its image quality; also, you did not clarify the news from Apple that a VESA-mounted iMac can be rotated and used effectively in "Portrait mode"if the customer wishes to do so. (3: I currently use an aging 21" Core i5 iMac, which the M1 iMac model replaces. There is a lack of comparison between older models in terms of real-world usage and what the newer models offer (or fail to offer). (NOTE: I am also a former MacBook Pro user).
I think to truly see and choose my color I'm gonna have to go to the store. I feel like these are all so make or break depending on actual in-person visual appearance. So far, I'm thinking Green > Blue > Purple (I don't even like this color really) > Red > Yellow > Orange > Silver (kinda boring).
Is the Ethernet speed fast and reliable plugging it into the power supply over plugging it into the back of the computer directly? This is all new to me.
I don’t know get why everybody is talking about how great the back of the computer looks? it’s going to go face against a wall no one‘s going to look at the back. Also that bottom stand looks very narrow and shakey. Would love to see a video on how easily that machine tips.

This thing in beautiful. I got mine last week. When I first saw the pictures and videos I wasn't convinced. However when you see it in person, damn it's so sexy. The bezel even looks good too. Love the white bezel.

The base model only has 2 usb-c ports, so this is the higher end model. Nothing has been announced yet about the pro model, but it will most likely be shown off soon!
Is there going to be a 27 inch version of the M1 iMac? I’m asking because right now there’s only a 24 inch model for the redes iMac with the M1 Chip And they never unveiled a larger computer with 27 inches or at least up to 32 inches
There are some rumors and it's very likely for a new bigger iMac to appear later this year. Apple gave all their baseline Macs the m1 chip and now they'll give the 'Pro' Macs (iMac 27", Macbook Pro 16", Mac Pro, and so on) an upgrade with a new version of their silicon, i guess.
I won't yell at you for the stickers! It's one of my favorite touches of this iMac, the fact that they are 2 toned to match the 2 colors of the computer

So, looking at this thing in the flesh . . . I want to like it, and in most respects, it’s gorgeous. The way the light plays off the aluminum is way more beautiful than a computer has any business being. 😊 But I don’t get what they were thinking with the color on the chin. In the advertising pics, it’s supposed to be the same color as the stand. In real life, it’s totally not. It looks like it was supposed to match but didn’t. Bizarre. 🙄 Don’t get me wrong, it looks to be a wonderful machine (especially with the new M1 chip) in almost every functional way. And the design is ALMOST really cool, especially for those who have a soft spot for the original iMacs. (The first computer I ever bought was a “blueberry” one, and it was awesome.) So I want to like the colors. I’ll get over how it looks if the thing works half as well as advertised. But from a design standpoint, that chin color is just crazy . . . 🙄
No, how it looks from the back - the entire review shot with the computer seen from the back. Jobs said the original iMac looked better from the back, than the other guys from the front, Apple has now made it that the new iMac itself looks better from the back than the front :-)

So, this is technically a 24 inch laptop with a stand. You can't upgrade anything. Absolutely nothing you can do to upgrade it. Whatever Apple throws it, we have to accept it. Well done Apple.
The fact that it is so light weight is a big let down flaw as I can see this being accidently knocked onto the floor in most office environments or even in the home.

It’s a shame that darker colour is not on the front. The front is just too light and without contrast. If I am am getting this machine, I have to get the boring gray one. And that’s only because of the duotone coloring. What a shame. A beautiful machine none the less.
There's a problem when you start your vid, showing the back of a product. Sorry but no. White bessels, the chin, and no logo at the front. Product looks incomplete. It's a good start, but it would be better if Apple actually spent more time in the design, rather than what colors a half finished design can have.

I have a 16 inch MBP but I still bought one of the new iMacs because of the screen-and it didn’t disappoint me when it arrived and I got to see it in the flesh. As always YMMV.

I’m one of the rare people who love the pastel front colors, not to mention the ridiculous thinness of the iMac itself. To each his own.
Apple knows BACK is awesome + FRONT is ANEMIC (I did order yellow 🤷🏽♀️). That’s why UA-camrs + Apple’s own ads spend more on-screen time w/ iMac BACKWARD.

I tried out one briefly at BestBuy. Paid no attention to the bezels. I was more interested in what was on the screen. I currently have a 27” 2010 iMac but the white bezels really don’t bother me

Excessive capitalism. Sure, you have a beautiful computer and a powerful processor, but that “unique” power cord is what’s going to kill you in the long run. Previous iMacs actually worked with standard 3-prong power cords, but the new proprietary connector means that if you just happen to damage the power cord, expect to pay for exorbitant prices. The design is up to interpretation, I’d prefer a black bezel, but I’m sitting this one out. I’ll stick with my PC.

Funny. Most I’ve gotten out of a high end WIN machine is about 4 years. Meanwhile, my 2011 MacBook Pro updated with 16 gigs of ram is going strong. There’s something to be said for owning the integration of software and now all the hardware.

@@bp8143 well, first we weren’t talking about custom builds. But I have ~40 years with PCs of decent specs for work and 20 with them for personal and only last 15 or so with Apple. But I’ve never gotten a blue screen of death with Apple. Never had a port or power supply die with Apple. All true with PCs. Had a crappy keyboard redesign on a MB Pro once though. And as we know “specs” on paper don’t mean squat. Why can the M1 get away so well with 16gb of RAM? Apple specs always seem low by comparison. But the several frugal family members I have running 8-10 year old Macs with zero issues speaks for itself. The MB I got for my daughter which took her through college AND grad school speaks for itself. We are on a 2 year refresh cycle for decently spec’d Dells at work (federal contract). And that just got changed to HP due to so many issues with Dells. I just don’t know anyone that has paid the Apple premium and gone to Macs that regrets that decision or has ever gone back. But yeah, some PCs have more spec for the $. And if they live as long with updates, keep running the software you need, great.

When you connect Ethernet cable, why no green or orange light is here? It is very useful to understand if it is connected.
