I think I might even set up a fan and spray bottle mister to complete the experience on your rainy days videos. (I'm not kidding.) Your videos transport me to another world.

I loved the part where you stopped short in front of a muddy path, thought for a moment, and then turned back. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve done that very thing on a spring walk!

Hello OAAW👋Just what I needed, after the crazy heat wave we've endured! Autumn and Winter are my favorite seasons; such mystique in the landscape, with the frosty ground and roof tops. That's what I love about your seasons; everything stays eternally green. Birds chirping, crowing and even some roosters made themselves known; must have been quite early morning. There's a sound of a bird I can't quite tell what that might be, with such peculiar sounds; what was it? It sounded like a pebble rattling around in a cup! Very calming and refreshing video, though. As always, thank you for sharing.
Hi Rose. Great to hear from you today! Mystique in the landscape is a great way to describe it. This was filmed towards the end of January at around 8:00 am if I recall correctly. The sound you were hearing is the woodpecker bird as it pecks on tree trunks at great speed! Many thank for your time on this walk. OAAW
Hurray; another early morning walk! The dawn of day is always like a fresh canvas, waiting for a beautiful picture to be painted upon it! The throwback to winter idea was unique and refreshing- especially for those of your viewers who are experiencing very hot temperatures (though some recent rains here have at least decreased the humidity, and have brought the temps down to the low 80s). Watching this certainly beat cooling off by opening the freezer door and sticking my head in, just to feel the blast of cold air! :) I was amazed to see daffodils after reading that this was filmed in January! In our area the daffodils must patiently wait underground for April to come (though the crocuses begin peeping through the soil in March). The sky was beautiful; I always love seeing the great expanse of sky above, and the interesting cloud patterns that daily create new pictures for us to enjoy. The puddles along the path with little sky reflections in them looked like little mirrors along the ground. :) Coincidentally, we had that same kind of striated cloud pattern here this morning, which I noticed when I let my dog out for his morning tasks. You made a good decision in not venturing forth into the mud! We would not have wanted you to take a tumble, as happened on that one walk- and your sneakers certainly would have been worse off for it (especially if they are white). This was very nice, and I enjoyed starting my busy day with your walk. This evening I will end my day with taking a guided “firefly walk” after dark, at the nature preserve where I often go. Perfect “bookends” for this Wednesday! :) I hope that your day goes well.
Hi Janet. Thanks ever so much for your lovely comment. That is a great way of thinking about it. Even after all these years, seeing the sunrise still blows my mind, especially when I think what it physically takes for a sunrise to even exist…so many different elements that fit together perfectly, so much more than just a sun rising in the sky. We are truly blessed to experience such a natural celestial wonder. If I recall correctly this was filmed on the last Sunday in January. Also, all in all last winter was fairly mild (compared to winters during childhood), which may well of coaxed the daffs out a bit earlier than usual. @@OutandaboutWalking I totally agree; so many of these everyday things that we see in nature (and even otherwise) are miraculous, and astounding. I have a little plaque on a table that belonged to my late mother, that says, “If you pause to think, you’ll have cause to thank”. Wise words these are, containing much truth! (BTW, my mom exemplified this adage in her life, and was a great example). Have a great day, and I will let you know what the woods was like at night in the summer (as I have only taken these night walks before in winter). :)

Beautiful....and sooo refreshing!!! My area of the States has been so hot, one of the worst in my 72 years. I am an Autumn & Winter girl so this has been just awful. Even the beach is to hot for me now, 100° today but feels 105° so far & it's not even noon!! But....seasons change & I will bide my time until it does. Hi Michele. It is lovely to hear from you. My word, that is unimaginably hot! It rarely reaches the low 90’s here in the UK. It kind of feels like summer is over now in England. It has been very wet recently but mild temperatures with it. Today I actually saw some leaves falling from trees. It seems like with every passing year the seasons are coming and going faster, unlike childhood days when the summers felt like they were endless! Thank you for all your wonderful & kind support. Ahhhhh, 🌬️🧊, appropriate timing, Sir🦝. Did you leap-frog the mushroom? Me too, all of them🥴. I was soooo tempted to lay in the frosty grass and roll around but dare'nt crush the baby flowers. The tree behind the bench had a silly expression til you came back around it, then it pretended it didn't photo bomb🙄. Hey, hey, long time no see, a booth library! 'scoose me whilst I dig into acouple titles .... The crows and woodpecker sure are cooking, the precious littler birds added the cinnamon/sugar. You came back for me didja... I'll just tuck these mystery plots in the crook-o me arm then. By the look of the multitude of muddy path footprints, weather has nothing to deter Cotswold walkers. Speaking of, you've proven walking is right healthy, by golly, I think it slimmed you down niiiicely by your reflection in the red booth. Awww, you too noticed the cuties hide-n-seeking above the Church sign. I studied the sky at the end, I feel very certain no artist could ever copy it; I'll bet I know how it WAS drawn, real Angels lay and made "wings" in Heaven's snow. Brrrrr, need to dig in me closet for a sweater.... in July, not never a bad thing, really. Much gratitude for the chill, Sir🐻❄️.

You would need a hot cup of something to warm you up after that. Mr Woody sure was a busy bird indeed. Speaking of, you've proven walking is right healthy, by golly, I think it slimmed you down niiiicely by your reflection in the red booth. Awww, you too noticed the cuties hide-n-seeking above the Church sign. I studied the sky at the end, I feel very certain no artist could ever copy it; I'll bet I know how it WAS drawn, real Angels lay and made "wings" in Heaven's snow. You would need a hot cup of something to warm you up after that. Mr Woody sure was a busy bird indeed. I took one look at that muddy path and thought there is no way I’m wading through that in my nice clean sneakers, it would of been more than ankle deep. Slimmed down??? But you are right…walking is a great form of exercise! The clouds looked amazing at the end!
