      GALACTICRIMINAL It's on UA-cam somewhere on his UA-cam page where someone actually added death metal vocals to A MARTIAN WINTER, u gotta search it the vocals someone added fit really well with the melody

    as a guitar player when he gripped the neck he was muting the strings to get a clean tone for a solo

      The snow is real? I know it was a freezer and the visable breath is real and all that, but I doubt the snow was real, what did they ship it in or something? lol

    • @K17ten
      @K17ten 7 років тому +2

      higler420 My guess is if you have heavily breathing people in a cold enough environment a frost may appear.

    • @T1hitsTheHighestNote
      @T1hitsTheHighestNote 7 років тому +1

      I have no idea how they did this, but even Hollywood can't get that realistically looking cold. If it's cold enough, snow on a shirt will not melt. I suppose they just rolled themselves in snow, or they threw snow at each other, prior to the shoot. The snow in their faces tho, I'd suppose that's make-up, since that would become water in an instant.

    • @RealzFoSho
      @RealzFoSho 7 років тому +2

      Robert, you must not live in the north. I can't speak to whether it was some makeup or an effect in the video, but I can tell you that when you get up north during winter, the warmth of your face is no match for the cold in the air.

  • @Circuitous

    "The guitar is singing the chorus, that's really cool." You nailed it, man. Let the melody soar like that and you don't even need vocals, the guitar can tell the story on its own. But in the chorus especially, the rhythm guitar is my favorite part, it just sounds incredible.

    angel is pretty much the greatest guitarist I've ever heard. there's a million shredders out there but few can write such leg tingling melodies. he's been my #1 inspiration for songwriting. I've seen him live too and he's flawless.
    I heard an interview with him and he said he barely ever listens to metal, he listens to weird and foreign "worldy" type music. I think that really helps him stand out and not be a boxed in scale regurgitator. you should really check out all of his music. it's incredible.

    at 3:59 he reaches up to mute all of the strings from the top of the guitar, the reason he does this is so that when he plays the next lick using legato technique (meaning without picking each note) there is no extra sound produced from the strings.

    What he did with his guitar when you said you didn’t know was overhand muting. Us guitarists use it to mute overtones during a legato(hammer on/pull off) phrase to get crazy fast sequences without picking. It’s badass but very hard to do right.

    AV is one of my favorite find of recent years. He's released several mini albums/EP:s over the last decade. IMO the two latest, Universal Language and Away With Words- Part 1, are the best ones. He also recently did a re-recording of his 2009 album The Speed of Dark, which I believe will get a few spins from me in the future.

    You hit the NAIL on the head stating the chords ARE the vocals I feel the EXACT same way.
    They play almost every song in three different parts like a song that has 2 main chorus hooks and three separate parts with its own lyrics that drive the song.

    Check ..____ from Angel Vivaldi. It's an awesome song and the riff at the end is probably one of my top 10 riffs ever. The best part with his songs is that it's not only about the solos. Quite often i find myself enjoying the rhythm guitar way more than the solos and he writes both. Such a talented guitarist.
