Hey I know that reel! Thanks Dennis!
I'll bet you do! thanks John - Dennis
sometime could you show the gears that determine the different gear ratios of bait cast and spinning reels? Thanks
Thanks Bill - that is a good idea. I will try to do that - Dennis
Hi Dennis, do you have any experience with reconditioning anti reverse sleeves? I've got one that is pitted and making some noise, there are no spares available from the local manufacturer. I've tried polishing it, but hasn't made much difference..
I have. if yours is a sealed unit, try using an automotive brake cleaner or carburetor cleaner to dissolve the grease and then use an air hose (or canned air) to remover the cleaner. That should help - Dennis
Looks very complicated to me but a fine Reel I BET .
In the end it is a big gear turning a little gear that rotates the spool. Some are more complicated than others, but the principle is the same - Thanks Bobby - hope all is well - Dennis
Why would the reel have a clicking sound when you reel it in. The clutch is worn as well as it has a lot of play going backwards
The worn clutch would not cause the clicking noise. Not sure if you also have a worn click mechanism that may not be holding or something like broken line trapped inside the reel. Your clutch needs to be replaced and if you open up the reel to do that, you should find out the cause of the click issue - Dennis
Torium = tyrnos for bait casting?
