I LOVE this idea, but a few suggestions.
1. Dont give the guns to girls. They're no fun. They wear tight clothes and spent 3 hours doing their hair so they'll rarely play.
2. Try to do it around cover. Water gun fights in the open are kind of pointless, but if there's cover you can move around and jump over it makes it so much more fun.
3. Once you trick them into holding it, "I challenge you to a duel" should set it off.
