Dude that was quick, easy, and informative great job!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Watching this 4 yrs later but it was driving me crazy!!!! Thank you!!
Wow...I learned something new today. VERY interesting!!! I had NO idea this was the case. This would help me make an INFORMED decision when purchasing a new car charger as I am right now. Thanks for sharing, man!
Love your direct and clear persona. My kinda guy. I've subbed.
Thanks for the comment!
Thanks this is a common problem unexplained for so many people. You sound clear & intelligent. I'm going to try this. It is so important when driving to not have your phone go dead. For GPS & phone emergencies. Thanks.
Thanks Jack! I agree.
its now Summer of 2021 and you now have close to 20k follows, so it appears you are doing something right! I am just now finding your channel and WOW you gave me all the information that I have been waiting for and wondering about for years!!!!

Thanks. Glad to see that your channel has grown so much!
Thank you!
Thanks. You deserve way more likes. This will help me choose the right charger.
I have experienced the same frustrations you have with charging my cell phones. This video helped on the 12 volt dc charger.I am reasonably sure the same logic applies to 120 volt converter/charger as well.I am now searching for a n instrument that will measure it test these converter/chargers.I will continue to search. Thanks
Thanks for the info....much appreciated!
Video is very good. Not long ago, I bought a renhotecic brand USB fast charging back clip car charger. I pressed it on the car and used it for a while, and it felt that the effect was OK. It is recommended that friends in need can try to prepare a copy.
Thank you, I was ripping out my hair trying to figure out why I was losing power plugging my phone in the USB in my car.
Glad I could help! Thanks for the comment!
Excellent explanation
Thank you for this video! It was very helpful!

Great video bro, u did an awesome job 🔥🔥
Thanks for the kind words!
So I have 2 USB ports in my 2018 Ram 1500 Truck. They all suck. Said it was going to take 10 hours to charge my S23 smartphone. Your video is great man. I subscribed.
Thx!!
Thank u
I realize it has been a bit since you put this video out, thank you for the info. Just to let you know the links you have provided are no longer useable. But the information you have provided answered my questions. 🤠
amzn.to/3L1rwL2 thanks for the heads up!! I will update it
Thank you so much for this info! I watched another video that didn't help at all! Hate to spend $25 but hopefully it'll last a very long time!!!
Thnx 👍

Thank you! Glad you liked it
I bought a Ugreen Brand with dual quick charge 3/4 charging technology for $20USD (approx). Thanks for the very informative info. #subscribed..
Much appreciated! How is the Ugreen product treating you? I have a couple of their cables, not bad.
Fyi, the Anker listed is out of stock. They listed a different one that is available for 30.99. The other two Rav links didn't work at all.
Quality vid. Thanks
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Ty
Great stuff, subscribing brother!
If you use both USB ports at same time, i think it will slow down the charging speeds.
Thanks mate from London England
Thanks for the comment
Hi, love the channel. Will the charger drain my car battery if it is plugged in while the engine is off?
Thanks for the comment! The answer to your question is, technically, yes. However, the Anker Powerdrive Speed 2.0 (Un-boxed in video) has a standby power consumption rating of less than 0.2 watts which is such a small draw of power that you would have to leave your car off for months before it fully drains the battery. So it is a non-issue and I will definitely be leaving mine plugged in for the most part.
My my my, am going straight to Best Buy now.
Thanks! I'm going shopping.
Hope you enjoy!
New sub!... I just bought a TCL 306 phone and it won’t charge at all in the car! In the same usb socket s that I use for my iPhone, sat nav or sum up card reader ( not simultaneously) the 306 makes a feint sound when plugged in, but the phone’s battery indicator fails to to turn green with the little thunderbolt graphic! So over a few hours the charge goes down at a worrying rate. Will your fix work in this case?....
I am reluctant to buy a power bank in case it doesn’t work!
Thanks for a great well explained video!
👈😎👈
Probably needs more amperage. Try the Anker 12v charger with 1.5-3 amps. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for doing this.. my cars charger sucks..
Does the charging cable also affect the charging speed?
Commenting before this channel blows up
What do you do if your USB plug from the car under it says 1.0amp? It doesn't charge my phone
Thanks buddy. I just bought this..Fast Car Charger Qualcomm QC3.0 Certified Quick 2-USB Port Charge Dual 36W Black ....under 10 bucks but states it charges at 3.0....What do ya think? They sell them on ebay. Havent gotten it yet.
I would try to find the exact model reviews online first. But at $10, not too much of a risk. Let me know if its any good! Sorry for the late reply, missed this comment.
great video man . ANy way I can charge my laptop battery or phone battery without having my car engine running ? greetings from spain
Ya move the fuse half way I thought everybody knew that
How dose the amp label look like
So doing the math, I should purchase a 2.5 amp output. Will it hurt the phone if you were to use a much bigger like 6amp? Thank you for sharing this info!!
No, it should be fine!
@@CoreyStaden thank you! 😊
Thank you man I will never charge my phone while the car is not running
I love this Dude🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🙌🙌🙌🙌
What would you recommend for a Iphone 13 ? thanks
Anker USB-C Car Charger, 30W 2-Port Type-C Car Adapter, iPhone Car Charger with PowerIQ 3.0, for iPhone 15/14/13/12 Series, Samsung Galaxy S23/S22/S21 Series, iPad Pro, AirPods, and More a.co/d/gvU2W80
I'm using a 3.1 Car charger, and I as well have a good charging cord but my Phone still takes long to charge, it takes 3.1 but for some reason it works better with a 1.0. But it still takes a long time. My phone is a GalaxyA10. Please help
What if my 2.4 car charger starts to charge slow suddenly? Could it be the ports are dirty? Or the charger is worn out
So in that case, how are automobile manufacturers limiting the "cigarette lighter" port?
Because i just was put into a 2022 GMC Sierra work truck:
Took my personal 3.6a charger moved it over to the work truck... and now its slow as hell...
is the aux port not fed directly from 12v battery power?
maybe mandated by government for smoking issues so you cant use a super high draw device like a lighter?
And how they hell, would they throttle the amperage, i thought that was limited by the device drawing the power... (obviously a fuse also limits it... but not in the same way duh)
I love buying Anker products since they provide a full warranty up to 18 months. They’ll replace it if it fails up to 18 months. No questions asked.
So 1 amp is good for 2000 mah and 1.5 3000 mah. Mili amps per hour?
My android phone has a micro usb port. Would I therefore need another cable to connect the usb a port on the charger to the micro usb port on my phone? And do you need to worry about the amp-hour rating of that additional connecting cable? Hope my question isn't confusing. Thanks, Rundown, good video.
Not at all! If your cable works well with your wall/home charger, then it will also work well with the car charger. What phone are you using?
@@CoreyStaden Thanks for getting back to me! I use a Wiki Ride 2 android phone. I will need a charger in the cigarette lighter
(is 2.4A output ok?) and I guess a USB to Micro USB cable in addition?
Yes, 2.4 Amp is plenty! And the cable will be USB-A to micro USB. Never heard of that phone before🤙
@@CoreyStaden Thanks!
How about bad wiring in my `99 Fiat Uno and the fact that step down converter charger 12 to 5 v mustn`t have resistance between car battery and a cigarette lighter plug. That's the problem with my car. Maybe adding electrolytic capacitor will solve the issue. It seems that I`m the only one that has the shitty car and issues that comes with it. Anyway you got the sub from me. Great video man.
I try to keep my cars for a long time as well but '99... good for you man!! 👍 Thanks for the sub
"I have 11 subscribers"
*looks down sees he has 1.7k now* WOW
Is the iPhone one of those devices that pairs well with this charger and results in super fast charging? I’m too lazy to Google it, and I wouldn’t know how to anyways. Please give me the answer. Thanks
Yes, this is still one of the best options out there. Which is likely why the price hasn't dropped since I bought it last year. Here is the link for the charger if you want to support my channel: amzn.to/3mnBtTZ
Also, congrats on the IPhone 12 Pro Max👌
Theres a lot of chargers that advertise way more amps than what they actually provide. So how do you get around that?
I like to stick with reputable companies. Pay a bit more, but at least you get what is advertised.
Mines legit says 3.1 amp but it charges so slow.. as a delivery driver, i would assume it would worn out because it is old and had it for a long time. Does that happens?
Same for me, even if I am not a delivery driver :-) Qualcomm 3.0 quick charge, 3.1A and sloooow charge
If it has multiple ports, it could be that that current output is split between the 2 ports, so one should be 1.0amp where the other port is 2.1amp
One of these ANKER chargers (travel charger) blew up in my face one night year ago...
That sucks
I have a 3amp charger, in one car a it works fine in car b it says 3 hours any idea why?
Same cable?
With newer vehicles that don't have a cigarette lighter, how can I increase my USB port charge speed? I don't suppose putting a higher Amp fuse in the fuse box would help? 😂
something else wrong here. tried a few chargers, including 54w IQ3.0 Anker car charger
Blown fuse?
Now I got another concern, I just bought 65W car charger for my S22+ and i works nicely - super fast charging 2.0.
But will it ruin my car battery?
No it will not. Most modern cars kill power to the 12 volt when the car is off. Even if it didnt, the draw on the car battery is so minimal, it would take a few weeks (without starting the engine) to drain the car battery. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
@@CoreyStaden okay thanks a lot!
Hey, serious question.
I just found this exact charger, I know it’s super old now, do you still think it’s current enough to actually use it in a car? I have a iPhone X, soon to be iPhone 12 pro max. Thanks
Hey man, I enjoyed the video. So I just have some questions before I buy one. So I've got a Samsung note 10. My charger sucks. I understand that the wattage needs to be 1.5 or higher. What's the highest they make? And if you charger has 2 outlets or more, are you saying each outlet would do less than 1.5? Because what if you are charging 2 phone's at time. Say for you and the wife?
This device will fast charge both devices (providing your devices are capable of fast charging). It outputs 1.5 amps to each port simultaneously, so both devices should charge nice and quick! If it were me, I'd go for something a little newer:
amzn.to/3Hk7CHb
Or the one I am currently using which is really good and comes with a high powered cable:
My current one: amzn.to/3CeA36m
I made a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/l_jP5TStDh0/v-deo.html
Don't forget to subscribe;)
@@CoreyStaden Thanks first of all for getting back to me. I'm thinking of going with the in the one your using now, verses the newer one. Only because while I have the type C connector to, I like the fact that its more versatile with whatever adapter is being used. For example, if I've got a friend that uses an IPHONE, he can use it. The newer one may be better but it also has both outlets for type C. But thanks for the info and letting me know what to get.
Let me ask you: Can you select another one? Because I'm trying to order it now, but it won't let me order it, since the item would be coming from Amazon in Canada and not in the states.
Absolutely! Here is the one for the States: www.amazon.com/dp/B08VNWF24S?maas=maas_adg_471647FF847B4A809D430BC62E56F450_afap_abs&ref_=aa_maas&ref=myi_title_dp

Would this work on a samsung galaxy s20 ultra with a 5,000mah ?
Yes it will work with the s20 ultra. 👍
@@CoreyStaden Awesome, thank you for the fast reply ! Going to get one off your link . I appreciate it man . 👍💯
Thanks Carlos!
I have a 4.8 amp usb adapter. My phone could be off and the battery % will still end up lower than when I plugged it in. My vehicle is a 2020 camry LE. I've tried every port in my car, no difference. For example, right now my battery is 97% and my phone says 3h 48m untill full. I'm not so convinced a high amp USB adapter will solve the issue, it seems to be the car it's self that won't put out enough power no matter what kind of USB adapter I use.
What cable are you using? I would try another cable. Cheap cables will severely slow down the charging speed. If that's not the issue, maybe your 4.8 amp adapter is broken or faulty.
I can agree with this. Qi have a dual port charger with a 1A and 2.4A port and for a while both ports worked just fine. Last week for about 4 days it wouldnt charge my phone. Then suddenly it started charging faster, not 100% but quite a bit faster. 2 days ago it started doing the slow thing again or just wouldnt initiate the charge at all yet the light on the adapter was on and would charge other things. I have my original cable that came with the phone and other cables and when im in the car no other cables, or adapters will charge my phone now. The fuse has been replaced, ive tried new cords, new adapters, and nothing fixes it. I dont believe this to be an adapter issue. I think its a car issue maybe.
Made me look at mine it says 5v 2100mA.
My phone charger keeps flickering
And of course if you don't need it to be open switch of your phone while charging, it will charge three times as fast.
Thanks just was sitting in my car trying to charge my phone and wondering why this sh t taking so long
Thanks to your tip I found out my dual car usb c 3.0a/usb charger adapter has been charging slow because it was sharing it's amp with my car dash cam.
Interesting!
So in other words I can't use Android Auto in my car because it drains my phone faster than it charges but my iPhone had no problem running Apple car Play and even charged fine
Same charher good in other car and slow in my car
I bought a duracel 3 amp charger that says "fast charger" and as soon as I plug my 4500mah phone it still says quick charging then goes to cable charging. Ugh. Don't understand
Are you using a high quality cable that is fast charge capable?
@@CoreyStaden yes 🤔 the one from my Samsung charger (that does superfast) so I'm really not sure...
The Duracel charger might be a dud. Also, maybe a fuse issue with you 12v outlet.
@@CoreyStaden hmm it shouldnt be as it was new, legit brand from morrisons - but a possibility. Might try buy a Samsung car charger. Would a fuse issue not mean that the 12V just wouldn't work at all?
What if My charger doesn't talk? You look like you were going to eat it or shove it somewhere in the rear of the van charging port somewhere of course
Sometimes i get really fast charge, sometimes not at all 🙃
I've got the galaxy s21 and no matter what car charger I use it won't charge at all, it says it is charging but doesn't? Drives me nuts!
Have you checked the fuse for your 12v socket? Might be a blown fuse
@The Rundown well its a lorry I drive, a different one everyday they 12/24v and in any lorry it dont work 🤷
iPhone 9? Wish I had one
Oops 😬
Bought a 4.1 amp with three USB ports 2 with 1 amp but the other 2.1
So technically it's not 4.1 but 2.1
5000 mah
Can one obtain a degree in Mumbo Jumbo?
Yes, at the School of Shenanigans. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! But man said iPhone 9
There no iPhone 9
My car charger was working just fine but now no matter what car charger I use, it charges my phone so slow.
Maybe a defective battery. How old s the phone?
@@CoreyStaden I bought a fast charger and it seems to be charging fine now
So in other words I can't use Android Auto? 😭
iPhone 7 power off on our street running car to charge so sllllllllow!
No sound
The sound works for me, and many others. Maybe your volume is off?
Those Anker car chargers have a useless "fast charging" IMO
