Thanks for the comment! The answer to your question is, technically, yes. However, the Anker Powerdrive Speed 2.0 (Un-boxed in video) has a standby power consumption rating of less than 0.2 watts which is such a small draw of power that you would have to leave your car off for months before it fully drains the battery. So it is a non-issue and I will definitely be leaving mine plugged in for the most part.

New sub!... I just bought a TCL 306 phone and it won’t charge at all in the car! In the same usb socket s that I use for my iPhone, sat nav or sum up card reader ( not simultaneously) the 306 makes a feint sound when plugged in, but the phone’s battery indicator fails to to turn green with the little thunderbolt graphic! So over a few hours the charge goes down at a worrying rate. Will your fix work in this case?.... I am reluctant to buy a power bank in case it doesn’t work! Hello, I am located in Dongguan, China, specializing in the production of various models of car chargers. It's my honor to provide you with service, thank you!
I realize it has been a bit since you put this video out, thank you for the info. Just to let you know the links you have provided are no longer useable. But the information you have provided answered my questions. 🤠
So in that case, how are automobile manufacturers limiting the "cigarette lighter" port? Because i just was put into a 2022 GMC Sierra work truck: Took my personal 3.6a charger moved it over to the work truck... and now its slow as hell... is the aux port not fed directly from 12v battery power? maybe mandated by government for smoking issues so you cant use a super high draw device like a lighter? And how they hell, would they throttle the amperage, i thought that was limited by the device drawing the power... (obviously a fuse also limits it... but not in the same way duh)
No it will not. Most modern cars kill power to the 12 volt when the car is off. Even if it didnt, the draw on the car battery is so minimal, it would take a few weeks (without starting the engine) to drain the car battery. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
My android phone has a micro usb port. Would I therefore need another cable to connect the usb a port on the charger to the micro usb port on my phone? And do you need to worry about the amp-hour rating of that additional connecting cable? Hope my question isn't confusing. Thanks, Rundown, good video.
@@CoreyStaden Thanks for getting back to me! I use a Wiki Ride 2 android phone. I will need a charger in the cigarette lighter (is 2.4A output ok?) and I guess a USB to Micro USB cable in addition?
Thanks buddy. I just bought this..Fast Car Charger Qualcomm QC3.0 Certified Quick 2-USB Port Charge Dual 36W Black ....under 10 bucks but states it charges at 3.0....What do ya think? They sell them on ebay. Havent gotten it yet.
I would try to find the exact model reviews online first. But at $10, not too much of a risk. Let me know if its any good! Sorry for the late reply, missed this comment.
Mines legit says 3.1 amp but it charges so slow.. as a delivery driver, i would assume it would worn out because it is old and had it for a long time. Does that happens?
Hey man, I enjoyed the video. So I just have some questions before I buy one. So I've got a Samsung note 10. My charger sucks. I understand that the wattage needs to be 1.5 or higher. What's the highest they make? And if you charger has 2 outlets or more, are you saying each outlet would do less than 1.5? Because what if you are charging 2 phone's at time. Say for you and the wife?
This device will fast charge both devices (providing your devices are capable of fast charging). It outputs 1.5 amps to each port simultaneously, so both devices should charge nice and quick! If it were me, I'd go for something a little newer: amzn.to/3Hk7CHb Or the one I am currently using which is really good and comes with a high powered cable: My current one: amzn.to/3CeA36m I made a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/l_jP5TStDh0/v-deo.html Don't forget to subscribe;)
@@CoreyStaden Thanks first of all for getting back to me. I'm thinking of going with the in the one your using now, verses the newer one. Only because while I have the type C connector to, I like the fact that its more versatile with whatever adapter is being used. For example, if I've got a friend that uses an IPHONE, he can use it. The newer one may be better but it also has both outlets for type C. But thanks for the info and letting me know what to get.
Let me ask you: Can you select another one? Because I'm trying to order it now, but it won't let me order it, since the item would be coming from Amazon in Canada and not in the states.
Absolutely! Here is the one for the States: www.amazon.com/dp/B08VNWF24S?maas=maas_adg_471647FF847B4A809D430BC62E56F450_afap_abs&ref_=aa_maas&ref=myi_title_dp

With newer vehicles that don't have a cigarette lighter, how can I increase my USB port charge speed? I don't suppose putting a higher Amp fuse in the fuse box would help? 😂
Is the iPhone one of those devices that pairs well with this charger and results in super fast charging? I’m too lazy to Google it, and I wouldn’t know how to anyways. Please give me the answer. Thanks

For example, right now my battery is 97% and my phone says 3h 48m untill full. I'm not so convinced a high amp USB adapter will solve the issue, it seems to be the car it's self that won't put out enough power no matter what kind of USB adapter I use.
What cable are you using? I would try another cable. Cheap cables will severely slow down the charging speed. If that's not the issue, maybe your 4.8 amp adapter is broken or faulty.
I can agree with this. Qi have a dual port charger with a 1A and 2.4A port and for a while both ports worked just fine. Last week for about 4 days it wouldnt charge my phone. Then suddenly it started charging faster, not 100% but quite a bit faster. 2 days ago it started doing the slow thing again or just wouldnt initiate the charge at all yet the light on the adapter was on and would charge other things. I have my original cable that came with the phone and other cables and when im in the car no other cables, or adapters will charge my phone now. The fuse has been replaced, ive tried new cords, new adapters, and nothing fixes it. I dont believe this to be an adapter issue. I think its a car issue maybe.

Same for me, even if I am not a delivery driver :-) Qualcomm 3.0 quick charge, 3.1A and sloooow charge
If it has multiple ports, it could be that that current output is split between the 2 ports, so one should be 1.0amp where the other port is 2.1amp
