One can always tell when a '70's Honda four is happy. Smooth and revs freely, such as yours. In 1971, I purchased a new CB 750 K1 in candy garnet brown. I ride a '22 Z900 now, but always think about that bike.Early Honda fours were ahead of their time. You've done an exceptional job on this beauty. Thanks for sharing.
Geeze, I loved this bike. I ran between Shreveport and Houston every couple of months from ‘72- 75 after I came home from the service. Great scoot, very thrifty, quiet. It set the standard for what I would ride from then on.
When I was about 16, my friend Rick had one and I got to ride it from time to time. Absolute sweet machine back in the day, and remains so today. Thanks for the vid and the memories it brought back. You have a stunningly beautiful piece of history and a nearly perfect machine to ride.
I had a 73 500 four same colour as this , it had been totally rebuilt and painted although the tank was solid blue on mine , great bike , good memories
This was my first bike when I got home from the service in 71. Great scoot for daily runs to work or weekend rides down to Houston from Shreveport. Quiet, smooth, easy on gas and rarely needed any maintenance.
I had a 1973 CB500, the last year made before Honda went to the CB550. Your title is incorrect stating it to be a 1976., in 1976 it would have been a CB550. Yours is gorgeous, take good care of it.
Damn that’s beautiful. My 75 400 F is sweet, but not as perfect as this. On the other hand, it has 22,000 miles - this has 66,000km? About 44,000 miles? Superb resto.
Lovely bike. I had one in the 1970s, and it took me to all the lower 48 states. But the rocker arm shaft was free to rotate within an aluminum casting. Eventually it wore enough play into the aluminum that adjusting the valves precisely was impossible. Then it was clickclickclickclick. :-( I traded it with about 55K miles.
Thanks for posting! Had a 73 550 in '76 and this brought back some great memories. The sound and images are like being home again.

Thanks Frank. Most of the heavy lifting was done by Marc at Blauweplaat Motors. Check out his website: blauweplaat.nl. The Z900 is very nice too!

I've always loved the little center panel of 4 indicator lights with six sided lenses. It's just so 70's Honda. I miss my 76 CB750f !

That bike sounds very well tuned, nice job 😀
That's a beautiful bike!
It's similar to my 400-4 in some aspects. I miss that bike.
The Hondas of the 70s ♥️♥️👍 the best .
That is a beautiful motorcycle! I had a gold one until my youngest son took it somewhere and lost it.
È bellissima su tutto.! Di una estetica unica.
Good man for restoring it and not turning it into a dopey cafe racer.
Stunning.

You're right for the US Jim, in Europe we had the CB 500 also in 1976 and even 1977. Mine is from November 1976.
@@classiccb500four Sorry, I didn’t know that… I stand corrected.
Very nice looking machine.
Thank you! 😃
Beautiful Mate, they are hard to come by now, in Australia anyway, where in the world are you Mate.
The Netherlands Rod.
It's funny how many air cooled inline fours Honda made between 350 and 750 cc in the 70's.
What a beautiful bike. Smooth as a baby’s behind.
owned a red one back in the day
damn it if only I could lay my hand in one of those beauty
Soichiro muy beuano.

Beautiful. But pretty sure 1976 was a 550. I know because I bought one new off the showroom floor.
You’re right for the US Larry. In Europe we had the CB 500 alsof in 1976, and even in 1977. Mine is from November 1976.
