"offering required" means that you have to get notes to upgrade your mantra further. i think the cap before you need an offering is 3 modifiers
its 5 basic modifiers, therefore 3 larger modifiers require offering
5 smaller ones add up to offering

When you modify a mantra with a bunch of shit you you require an offering, this being notes. when you modify mantras just make sure to keep like 1k or 2k on you
