    The Flying Battery Zone was originally supposed to be in between Carnival Night and Ice Cap Zone. But they moved it to the second part of Sonic and Knuckles

      Then S&K was going to have one less zone?? what level was going to be in S&K's Flying Battery then?

      I don't think they added or moved any zones- but eh- you never know it they did or not-

      @@kero232 After Mushroom Hill Zone, Sonic and Tails go straight to Sandapolis. Both Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles are originally made to be all together as one game. It's really interesting that one of the famous levels of Sonic and Knuckles is originally intended to be right after Carnival Night. After being so used to the final product of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. This will feel quite weird. I'd like to try it out.

    I heard that SMPS unused music at the beginning of the video and I thought this wasn't supposed to be discovered for another 6 years, then I realised this was Sonic 3 Complete

    does the blimp just continue to fly overhead carnival night infinitely, or does it eventually go away?

    Did anyone else notice that the Mad Mole that pilots the Flying Battery Blimp at the gondola hanging under the front of the ship, is not there, in this version? It's just those same engines you see behind the gondola cockpit, in Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3 & Knuckles? As a person who is derangedly obsessed with cartoon and video game airships, and their designs, I noticed this difference right away in this hack. Also, I loved the Sonic Mania Plus version of Flying Battery Act 2, due to the fact that you were able to go outside and see all of the cool fins, with engines and propellers on the ship, but the developers of that game fucked up, by not putting propellers on the "Wing Fortress" modeled engines on the fins and other parts of the ship, which I am wondering if it was a glitch, or for some reason they couldn't add the propellers, or if the game designers just got lazy. But Flying Battery Act 2 on Sonic & Knuckles sucked, because you could go through that whole stage without going outside the ship, at least until the very end, and are inside most if not all the time, and you do not even get the feel of being onboard a giant airship flying through the air.

      I’ve always wondered if Flying Battery was a blimp or a “plane” like Wing Fortress. Also do you think it’s the same ship that tries to carpet bomb Sonic in AI act 2? Also I agree that the original FB didn’t have enough outdoor segments.

    • @thomasj.cikalo8497
      @thomasj.cikalo8497 2 роки тому

      @@jadendafinger I actually thought that the Flying Battery was called a "blimp" simply due to its massive size. I also pictured it as more of a giant helicopter, due to the rotors on top in the one outside section there you can grab onto the pole that the blade are on, and I also pictured there being super huge propellers on poles outside on top of the ship, above those drills that you ride up and down, in Act 2 in Sonic & Knuckles. But in Sonic Mania, the Flying Battery looks partially like an airplane, due to the Wing Fortress-like fins on top of it in Act 2, and also, those Wing Fortress type engines mounted on the side of the ship, and I'm wondering still to this day, why there were no blades on the Wing Fortress-like engines, making that "chattering" sound, like the engines do on the Wing Fortress. I'm wondering if that was an error on the game maker's account, as to why they'd put engines with no propellers on them. Otherwise, it is beyond me, why those Wing Fortress style engines are there. Also, I'm pretty sure it was confirmed somewhere that, the ship known as "the Flying Battery Blimp" at the end of Angel Island Act 2 was indeed the same Flying Battery as in Sonic & Knuckles and presumably in Sonic Mania. I don't care for the underside of the ship's design at the end of Studiopolis Act 2 in Sonic Mania, as much as I like the engines and design of the underside of the ship at the end of Mushroom Hill Act 2. But there was another airship from another Sonic game that I saw images of called "the Eggman Flying Battery" which looked to be a much smaller airship, and its main color was red, so I doubt that the Eggman Flying Battery is related to the Flying Battery Blimp in any way, except for its name, and the fact that both airships belong to Dr. Eggman.

    • @thomasj.cikalo8497
      @thomasj.cikalo8497 2 роки тому

      @VirtuasRedem I honestly loved both of these airships. If I ever got rich somehow, I always wanted to attempt to build a large jumbo jet airship modeled closely after the Wing Fortress, and an even larger airship modeled after the Flying Battery Blimp, but as a giant helicopter. Also, if you've ever seen the show, Disney's Gargoyles, you may know of the Fortress One and Fortress Two airships owned by Cyberbiotics. Both very cool airships, but my versions of the Wing Fortress and Flying Battery Blimp would be considerably larger than even the Fortresses in Gargoyles.

    • @thomasj.cikalo8497
      @thomasj.cikalo8497 2 роки тому

      @VirtuasRedem Well, I have been told by a model aircraft builder that the Wing Fortress I planned to build, which was a huge jumbo jet, about 10 stories of levels in the back, dropping to 9 stories in the middle, and to 8 stories toward the front, like how the middle of the real Wing Fortress has the dropping levels on top, in the middle, with a large tailfin with 4 engines on it, like the real Wing Fortress, a mid-sized fin with 2 engines on it to the middle of the top of the ship, and a fin toward the front, but not all the way to the front of the ship, similar to the front fin before you encounter the boss laser inside the ship, the model aircraft builder said that this ship would have to be a dirigible like a zeppelin or blimp, in order to work, while an actual dirigible airship builder I talked to, told me "anything with wings has a chance to fly" I wanted my Wing Fortress to be 1,000 feet long, at least, as I wanted it to be the largest, and heaviest aircraft to ever leave the ground, and what I consider the first "true" airship. The Hindenburg was 804 feet long, and I do not consider it a true airship. What I define as an "airship" is "a heavier-than-air aircraft, of immense size, much larger than an airplane or helicopter which relies on the lift of its engines to fly, without the help of any lighter-than-air gasses" I would also like my version of the Wing Fortress to be taller than the Hindenburg, as well. My dad makes the snide remarks such as "Are you going to have a fuel hose hooked to the ship from the ground, to keep it in the air?" and such bullshit. As for the Flying Battery, I would likely have no choice but to go the partial dirigible route on this one, as my drawing of this ship is a helicopter and I was told that helicopters don't fly. They actually hover, which makes it a bit harder on the aircraft, as "wings" create lift. My drawn design of the Flying Battery is on a bunch of posterboards I used to have hanging across a wall, in my old bedroom, that I drew as a kid, which was a 30-story ship on a lot of the front and back, and 15 story mid sections with a few skinny 30 story sections connecting them. (Think of 2 boxes, a front one and a back one with the middle of the ship like a bunch of letter Hs put together, with double rotors on tall poles in between the low sections of the said "Hs" and super huge poles with two huge propellers on two poles on the front of the ship, and one on the back of the ship, a tailfin similar to the Fortress One from Gargoyles, and rows of airplane engines on the sides of the ship.
      I am quite sure my concept of the Flying Battery is impossible; however, I believe my Wing Fortress has a chance. I also believe that there could be a way to redesign the Flying Battery to be workable, but as an actual "blimp" or zeppelin style aircraft, but then it would not be a "true" airship to me. But still, a cool concept to get something so huge off the ground. Forget the Sonic Mania version of Act 2 of the Flying Battery though. In the wind, those skinny sections throughout the Zone, mainly on top of the ship would be history with the wind, and just the movements of the ship, itself.
      That model aircraft builder told me that the Fortress One "might" fly if I only put the essentials in its design (frame, skin, fuel tanks, fuel, engines, control room/cockpit) but it would be susceptible to weather, and he also told me that, if it were built with everything on it, he believes it "might" fly a short distance, and when I asked how far we were talking, he said, he would be surprised to see it make 100 yards (a football field)
      Here is an image of Fortress One, in the link below. I love this airship. It would likely be my first and possibly last airship I built if I hit it rich, because it is about the size of an aircraft carrier, and I believe I once read that building the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, which is also deemed impossible, would cost so much that it would cripple the entire U.S. military to build, I would need billions to tens or possibly hundreds of billions of dollars to build the ship, maybe less than hundreds of billions if the Fortress One would be cheaper, which it likely would be, as my version of the Fortress One would likely be a simple empty shelled airship, as I said with only the essentials built into it, that I would take for joyrides as a very expensive personal toy.

      @VirtuasRedem Oh, and I like the Wing Fortress's design better, but I like the Flying Battery Blimp's music and stage better. But the reason I like the Wing Fortress's design better, is because, before you get toward the front of the ship where it looks all incomplete, with just a few girders holding small pieces together that would be too tall, to work, even if that section of the ship were complete, plus the front section, after the last section of rocket engines you pass is not even connected in any way to the rear half of the ship, and the fact that rocket engines burn way too much fuel, those things also make it unworkable. However, I envision a Wing Fortress with just jet engines, and not any rocket engines built into the design, but before you get to the said front section, it almost looks like a workable airship design.
