Love the FaceCulture interviews with SW! They just come off so natural and informative thanks to the great interviewee. Also SW seems to have a talent for making interviews really interesting.
Kayo Dot did become pretty influenced by Scott Walker similar to Mikael and Steven around the same time. One of their songs that definitely show this is the song Calnyction Girl. But in fairness, everything before that was before Scott Walker even released his album so I guess this form of errie choatic sound was coined by Kayo Dot first :P. But yeah! You should check out their song called "Pitcher of Summer", very beautiful song that will keep you coming back :)
Also, I have to listen to this Scot Walker (one T? or two?) anyhow, I know Kate Bush a little. She's alright, but I love Tori Amos way more. I gave my son (who lives with his father and I only see once a month for a weekend) who is 12 and a composer already on piano and now also learning violin, a (yes SW sorry) iPod, actually it is not truly one, it is a Philips brand MP3 player, it's the only way I can share my music with my son and not worry about it getting scratched! :)
I wish there was some way I could tell Steven Wilson about the band Kayo Dot, because I'm sure they would make him go "What the hell is this?" and peek his interest. Especially with a song like Gemini becomes the Tripod or something, where the vocalist moans and groans into the microphone, escalating into yelling and then screaming over the course of like a 5 minute build up.

The interview could really do with some lighting and a tad more interesting background, but Steven Wilson weighs up for it :D

Throbbing Gristle is one of the weirdest shits ever, fucking disturbing.
